| When it comes to series alone I almost can't remember when KyoAni has released anything that is not mediocre to the core. (Hyouka maybe/probably). But their movies are a different matter and it's where the KyoAni staff shines the most as I see it. As the newest example just watch the Tamako movie and compare it to the lame series adaption and you know what I mean. That said I have a good feeling the sequel movie will be better than the series at the very least. The recap on the other hand, whatever. |

| I absolutely love this series. But I am a little disappointed that there's going to be a recap before I actually get some new material. |
| I'm hoping a second movie will mean that they won't do a second season, because this was the first Kyoani show I dropped (mostly because of the needless melodrama and how bored it made me feel). I might check out the recap movie if the second movie turns out to be good. |
| I really don't see a need for a Kyoukai no Kanata movie of this nature at all. The series was just standard at best and the ending was pretty final. I don't know if I'm going to bother watching it at all when it comes out. |

Surely they don't have enough plot holes and other unexplained stuff in the series for the explanations to cover two movies, so they're making a recap movie to remind us how illogical was the plot line of the series with one of the two movies instead? Kind of ... "If you forgot how angry you were about the mess that was our plotline in the series, here's a movie to remind you of those feelings"...? ...Oh, wait. They probably don't intend to explain those plot holes and Deus Ex Machinas in the movie anyway, that's why they don't need that much time to begin with. |

| Almost humorous how much negativity there is in this thread regarding the show. Almost. Personally, I was quite fond of the TV show. I just thought the ending was a complete and utter asspull and certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. The recap movie has the potential of adding more scenes in or even change scenes to make them stand out, especially since that ending was as bad as it was. Either that or the sequel movie will actually explain what the hell happened, though I suppose we must see about that. I do hope the recap does well like the Madoka Magica recap movies. The sequel is what I am mostly looking forward to. Wonder how that will turn out, story-wise. |
| When is the series ever going to come out on DVD in US/Canada/places that aren't Japan? Sentai Filmworks licensed it 14 months ago, or at least that's when they made the announcement. I know that still means it might be a while but I thought that series were being released a little earlier than they used to be, no more than a year or so? I guess I've no idea. I can't find anything on Amazon/Right Stuff for sale and there's almost no information on the website. Those kind of people here still come into threads like that like it's no big deal? |
