Them Ghostbusters, Leonidas and Wolverine.

Also, during the fight at Murasaki-chan's, shouldn't Rinka have passed through the doors and not break them like she did when she was sent flying by Kuroi? She had her white-haired mode on after all.

Great episode, better than the first two by far.

So, I'm seeing complaints from some that this has plot advancement but no character development. I'm seeing complaints from others that it's being rushed. I've even seen a few complaints that there is no substance, or that there isn't any plot, or that there is too much comedy, or that there isn't any comedy. I'm beginning to wonder if we're all watching the same series here, unless you guys are just making this stuff up so you can gripe about something?

This was the third episode. The first episode sets up a future timeline that we're not likely to see again until near the end of this season, the second episode sets up the MCs gaining of power and struggling to come to terms with said power. This episode shows the MCs trials on the way to becoming a hero, the heights to which a hero must climb, the depths to which a hero must fall, and the rise to face the path that lies ahead. Not like you can really expect a whole lot to be done within three episodes when only two of them can really be counted.

Other than the first episode being a completely different timeline that is cut short for this flashback to the events leading up to said timeline, the pacing is actually not so bad. Character development is decent considering how early in the series' timeline we are. The plot is interesting, I'm really curious about Mr. Samurai and his goldfish collection. The pop culture references are extremely entertaining, loved the Ghostbusters bit. There have been good comedy bits, good action sequences, engaging drama. Overall I'm enjoying this series, so far.

I'd give this episode an 8/10.
Odds are I'm not going to find my way back to a thread after my first post, it happens on occasion but not often. So, if I say something that offends you and you feel the need to force your opinion on me because obviously everyone should have your opinion or none at all, feel free to post it in the thread that I'll probably never see again. However, if you are interested in intelligent discourse, feel free to message me.

The pacing is 10 times worse than last time. What with trying to cover 4 chapters and skipping a fifth one in the process <_<
This may just turn into another Black Bullet butchering (if it's not already).

Peggy is awesome, can't wait to see him in action. Murasaki is in danger and she just got an ESP power. We also got to see more powers animated too, those were really cool imo. Lol at Rinka's father swinging around that dude.

Nah,from what little I read in the manga up until what was adapted so far,the manga readers do have a point. Still,I don't think it's as bad as they make it out to be,at least not right now.

Now,If we'd know the entire manga before watching the anime like they do,we'd probably agree with them but that's exactly why I'm avoiding it and just planning on reading as far as the anime covers each week in order to enjoy the anime while also seeing the content that was cut off. I personally think it's a good, balanced approach of enjoying the anime while appreciating the superior manga as well. More people should probably try this out :P

I never read the manga of a series I'm currently watching, it turns you into a whiny weeaboo. As such, I'm totally digging the series. It's not a 'bad adaptation' if it stands on its own merits.

The Ghostbusters showing up, I totally LOL'ed. Though where was Winston? Japan, you racist :P

Now the heroes are caught up with a yakuza turf war, and the daughter of one of the leaders is about to get esper powers herself. This has turned out to be a pretty delightful little show, manga whiners be damned.

People still use the term "weeaboo" these days? Looks to have lost its original meaning entirely...

The only reason I gave this show a chance (dropped after 3 episodes) was because it's an adaptation. Had I not read the manga beforehand, I would have dropped it after the first episode.

sadly this was a really weak episode despite it going back show the past. but honestly did mirasaki have to scream when the fish went thru her? and here everyone just sees it go thru them, its like as if it was hurting her. that scream was unnecessarily and bothered the crap out of me. 4/10

The pacing is irritating me. Like some ppl have said, it's been plot advancement after plot advancement, without the scenes having any real weight behind them. Which is a shame, cos I dofind the plot rather interesting.

I'm loving Rinka's dad in this episode. The episode seems to hint that he used to be or still is theboss of some Yakuza? The bit of info where we find that Rinka was trained in martial arts by her dad came ot of the blue xp...

I actually liked the part where Azuma resorted to darker means to save the Murasaki girl. Unfortunately bcos it came abt so fast, the change didnt quite leave an impact.

The anime series is actually makig me want to read the manga... for the wrong reasons... I wanna read the manga bcos the anime feels incomplete, which isn't a good sign. As an anime alone, it's okay, I guess. Animation is good, comedy is sometimes hilarious, and the overall plot seems interesting enough. But as an adaptation, it fails in the sense that, I can actually feel that there's more to the atory than this anime is giving...

Meh... a bit disappointed. This is the second series suffering frm fast pacing that I had high hopes for initially...

I definitely recommend that you read the manga it's actually really good, well atleast I think it is but the anime adaptation is so fucking bad...

Tokyo ESP... Dropping Pop Culture references since 2014 :P

Seriously that's a crazy amount of shout outs to movies and anime's all packed into one single 24 minute episode. I don't see any humor, just plot progression, and some of it feels forced as well.

That said, the story thus far hasn't been THAT bad. Just that there's really no much development on it. So masked samurai dude with similar powers as Azuma lets loose a bunch of flying fish all over Tokyo, turns lowlifes and other innocents into Espers, newly made Espers use their powers to do good/evil as they see fit. Pretty much the gist of the entire show probably?

It doesn't help that Azuma's past makes it seem like he's from some European country from the 18th Century (check out his dead friends clothes and the background), which makes his having some Japanese name not as believable either. From what I could tell, him and the Fish-Catcher samurai are time travellers or something, who both happened to crash land in modern-day Tokyo. Azuma resorting to darker means to deal with the kidnappers was kinda welcome for me (prefer a little dark side to the MCs myself). Did you guys see that pyro dude fly away like Ironman in the scene after that? I laughed my butt off there...

Well... let's see how things go next episode. The first episode and the premises seems good enough for me not to drop it... yet...

Hands down the worst anime this season together with Rail Wars.
It fails on all levels, with cheesy dialogues and hackneyed lines, INCREDIBLY STUPID ACTION and booooring characters.

What was with that van rolling like a fucking stone and flipping 10 times?

Let's protect someone whom I just met and of course i'm weak and need to get stronger... (shonen TM)

Glasses girl doesn't have any friends and must boast about it to everyone... awkward

Let's give MC at least some ridiculous background. *facepalming all the time*

I don't see what is the purpose of this anime. Action is cringeworthy, nonexistent comedy.. only those flying fish are somewhat interesting, otherwise crap on all levels.

Espers are cool and all, except like...the bad ones...you know?! x3 But, then the bad guys look.....pretty cool too, in terms of there powers. LOL!

Anyways....something out of the ordinary...but to be, Rinka's hair looks a lot like Kirino's hair from Oreimo. xD LOL!

In conclusion, Peggy the Penguin, Murasaki the new friend, she gets captured, gets a power, Rinka and Azuma to the rescue! x3

Well, it looks like Black Fist has made her escape and is going to join a strange organization lol.

It seems like Kyourtarou has big plans for their future hero careers.

LOL, that girl in hanging onto the flying penguin XD.

Awww, Rinka saved Kyoutarou from drowning :3 and I really hope he's going to get stronger and not stay just a weakling.

Damn... Kyoutarou grew up in a town/city that looks to have been filled with mobsters and gang wars.

I wonder where did they meet half a year go hmm.

Is Murasaki the daughter of a yakuza by any means lol... it looks like I was right XD.

Why is Murasaki's father Leonidas from 300? LOL

Things really aren't looking really good for Rinka and Kyoutarou...

Damn... Kyoutarou beat the crap out of those guys, they're bleeding really badly and he event shot that guy... what failure can do to a guy.

It looks like Murasaki is going to become an esper and Rinka knocked out her huge father XD.
