Welp, the usual everyone shouting for whole episode, typical Demon Slayer.

Btw I thought Hashira never go on mission together, but this episode proves me wrong. 2 Hashiras go on mission together.
So tell me, why didn't they do so way back when they confront Upper Moon 6?
They have intel, they have target, they have location, so tell me why they didn't bother to send 2 Hashiras ?
They could have obliterate upper moon 6 easily with 2 Hashiras .
Instead they send Tanjirou and his friends , whom are very low rank among the Demon Slayer group at that time.

It's been a while since I've read the manga but I definitely didn't remember that Shinazugawa/Obanai team up part. As I expected, it's anime-original so that's why it seemed so unfamiliar lol. I'm glad they added that so we can see more Hashira action.

Finally getting back into the swing of things with these familiar faces, and the focus this season will be strengthening their forces to achieve the mark and prepare for the upcoming battle to take down Muzan. I'm wondering what other original material they'll add in this season to expand on what we got from the manga.

For those who are hoping for typical flashy Demon Slayer battles, this season is not the one for that. This is the season where we actually get lore and infodumps about important in-universe information. And no, this isn't filler. This is all in the manga (before anyone who doesn't know what filler actually is starts yapping about filler).

@thebrentinator24

Ok I know why Hashira teamed up now. It's anime original.
Make sense cuz if manga has this part, the author would know that it'd contradict to her previous flower district arc, cuz if they sent 2 Hashira to flower district during that arc, they could have obliterate Upper moon 6 without much trouble.

I always thought they gonna go with the excuse of "Hashira is too busy so they can't cover the same area" shit.

Not a bad start to the season, it was good to see Zenitsu and Inosuke again since they were largely absent from last season
I'm still wondering how long this season is gonna be, I think it would be kind of odd to just adapt the Hashira Training arc since it's such a small arc, we'll see what happens

My first ever episode discussion, here goes

I really enjoyed this first episode! I loved the beginning part with Obanai and the Wind Hashira, especially when they jumped onto a crack in the roof into the Infinity Castle… I have a feeling that when Amane said something about the Demon marks, she was saying something like “you are going to die or sacrifice yourself”, but obviously they cut out the dialogue to leave it suspenseful. I’m really curious about that. Also I noticed in the ending, it showed Gyomei’s and Shinobu’s weapons. That could foreshadow their deaths? I really hope that’s not true though because Shinobu is one of my favorite characters. I’m looking forward to episode 2!

Demon Slayer is back with the Hashira training arc.
I know this arc doesn't contain much but this episode went so quickly despite being 50 minutes long. Time flies when you are enjoying stuff.
Apart from the original scenes, Himejima's presence was the best part along with the Osts. My man will soon be getting his spotlight. The Op is cool. I liked the previous one more but that Tanjiro vs Muzan scene was amazing.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

@Ventus_S hashira typically do not go on missions together but sometimes they do! If you remember in season 1, giyuu and shinobu got paired in the mt. natagumo arc.

This episode's first few minutes were amazing. Clearly they wanted to make an impression and Ufotable of course, delivered. Obanai Iguro has such an incredible unique fighting style that almost looks like art. Shinazugawa's fighting style was also amazing to watch. They managed to make that fight into a bloody massacre.

That meeting was tense but we still got meme moments from Mitsuri Kanroji. Zenitsu seeing Nezuko again was peak comedy.

With all the prep talk and info dump, no wonder this arc is about Hashira training. Zenitsu didn't seem thrilled about it. All of the sake of defeating demons! Exciting start for the arc for sure.

So demon slayer is back with its Hashira training arc. It is the shortest arc in the manga spanning only 9 chapters so what I’ve heard is it will only be 5 episodes. The anime only Sanemi and Obani sequence in the beginning was nice, and a cool look into some of what they can do, but it was only used to pad time. All the set up for this season will be in preparation for the best/longest arc in the series so anyone who is complaining/upset about how short this season is just hold out it will be worth it.

Was a pretty enjoyable start to a new arc. Feel like Zenitsu was more annoying than usually, but maybe I'm just forgetting how he usually is. The action sequence at the beg of the ep was very cool. I have higher expectations for this season despite how the last one was pretty mid.

Hell yeah man, Demon Slayer is back! I can’t help it man, I just really enjoy this series, just seeing that there was a new episode put a smile on my face. And we got another double length premiere too, love to see it, and it was quite the interesting episode with the Hashiras preparing for the coming fight against Muzan, as he will definitely be making a move with Nezuko conquering the sun. And speaking of Nezuko, still not used to her being able to talk but I really loved her scene with Zenitsu in this episode, it was both cute and hilarious with Zenitsu’s over the top reactions. And we got to see a bit of the training before Tanjiro and the boys make it there, and damn it looks rough, they even have Uzui doing pre-training, I was happy to see him and his wives again, took me back to the good times we had in Season 2.

But beneath the goofiness of the main gang and the training, there’s the seriousness of the situation with the Hashiras needing to manifest the marks that Mitsuri and Tokito did before, and the issue that it sounds like everyone who has the mark will have something bad happen to them, they didn’t say what it was but it’s not that hard to figure out, unless I’m wrong of course lol. And there was also the stuff with Kagaya in very bad shape, we haven’t seen much of him to really feel something but it is still sad to see.

And there’s probably a lot I didn’t mention but I don’t see a point in completely rehashing what everyone else here has said 10 times over lol. And we got another banger OP, love MY FIRST STORY for their OP for Golden Kamuy Season 2, don’t know HYDE but they both made a great song together, very cool visuals as well, it’s hard to say if I like this one more than previous OPs yet or not but I’ll probably know the more I hear it, but now I’m excited to hear that ED as well.

It's that funny time of the year again, let's see how many bad episodes this season of Kimetsu will have. It started with a horrible episode and it even had 50 minutes long, this anime doesn't have enough plot to fill 20 minutes, and ufotable continues with this bullshit of releasing double episodes.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

For a training arc, that looked really exciting and epic so far. I can’t wait to see more of Giyu, who hasn’t played a role since the first season. It was sad to see him split off from the others like that but can understand his character in a way. Hopefully Tanjiro can help him change like he did with Muichiro.

Kimetsu no Yaiba is back, and since I didn't go see the movie, I'm not upset or disappointed like some people might be.

The training arc begins, although they didn't reveal much in this episode. There are important things like Kagaya's poor health, or the fact that the hunters want to ally with Tamayo, and what seemed most important to me is what happens to those who get the mark, although they didn't comment on what it was, it's deducible that it's something dangerous or deadly.

I'm interested in this season, which at first glance won't have as much action as the previous ones, but we'll finally get to know more about the other pillars.

that opening sequence with the hashiras teaming up was already better than the entirety of the previous season, which was terrible. so this had a good start and it was doing fine... until zenitsu popped back in. i completely forgot about him until then as well but jesus, he goes on a generational run when it comes to ruining episodes. tengen and his trio of baddies were good to see again at the very least.

There was no reason to make this episode so long... Seems like another cash grab based on the comments from people that watched this episode early as part of the world tour???...

Do I have Oshi No Ko's success with it's feature length first episode to blame for this? I have heard that some other anime also did a longer first episode after Oshi No Ko's success...

Regardless, I'm already not feeling it after this first episode. The comedy ain't it and throwing in a random anime only fight scene for a couple of Hashiras to destroy cannon fodder ain't it either. This is already a very short arc so if they continue to try to pad it out with more dumb BS it's going to become a chore to get through this season. Ufotable's godly animation quality won't be enough to carry the season when it's just a training arc filled with exposition dumping. Hopefully they keep it short so they can be done with it and start focusing on the final arc fighting against Muzan.

I sure didn't expect Aizen's voice coming from that crow lol.
Episode was nice, didn't feel that long even with the extra length and the additional scene with Iguro and Sanemi. This arc isn't going to be very exciting since it's a training one, but if the opening is of any indication I think the last episode it's going to be exciting.
@Enbu_Kirikaze Same: always have to question whether it's just someone sounding like him (which I think there are a few, like Tomokazu Sugita and even Toshiyuki Morikawa, who does Kagaya), but I barely even remember that crow anyway. Then again, I also didn't really remember Muichiro's crow and she has an equally memorable voice actor

good episode. it was fun. wanted to see some more nezuko screentime. the comedic bits were funny. good to see tengen back and the wives, still hot af, i wonder if they all do it with tengen in turns. how do they decide who goes first?

the ending tho. had no idea that woman was a demon lol. next episodes should be great.

given how short the training arc is, i'm okay with these 8 episodes but i'm really hoping they release 24 episode season for next arc but probably 24 episodes won't be enough to get to the ending. dont care if there's a 2 year gap even but i want to watch till the end now in a continuous succession.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

The beginning was awesome, with great animation as usual and it had a dark atmosphere with the Hashira meeting and all with a bit of comedy here and there which I can take, I was enjoying the episode until that mother fucker named Zenitsu appeared, he sure knows how to ruin an episode for me, my fucking god how I hate that mother fucker, I tried to endure his screaming bullshitery in this episode but man, he just keeps going and he doesn't shut up, that's his whole shtick when he's awake and I hate it, I wish he dies already, he isn't this annoying in the manga since I don't have to hear his ear rapes, since S1 Zenitsu is the one ruining the episodes for me, this is a great anime but that blonde screaming mother fucker degrades it, he makes the boar guy look like a saint.

Anyway, this is a nice episode but it sure has some shit in it too like the things I described.

The return of the much-famed series of Koyoharu Gotouge's Kimetsu no Yaiba, and the entrance to the short Hashira Training Arc is always as ever that profitable and great.

The Hashiras' attempts, from Wind Sanemi and Serpent Obanai to save a village woman from a demon, to only then have their access closed by the time they reach Muzan's stronghold, it's time for the Hashira Meeting to assess the future of the Demon Slayer Corps in rounding up Muzan and the rest of the Upper Rank demons.

Thankfully, both Tanjiro and Nezuko seem fine after a rather long recovery from the Swordsmith Village, and the Hashiras embrace for the worst, knowing that their master, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, could not attend the meeting, but instead through Amane because of health complications. But furthermore, both Love Kanroji and Water Tomioka having this Mark that bore the defeat of Muzan through First Breathing, it's through Tanjiro at first, but both Hashiras soon acquired the same feeling as how the former felt: an overflow of powers that push beyond the human limit. The others may not have manifested this Mark yet, but will undergo training to awaken that Mark. However, Tomioka retreats, seemingly belligerent of the situation at hand, which Stone Himejima stopped the infighting.

Of course, Zenitsu would come back anticipating Nezuko like his usual, but as to where Inosuke is, getting the latter to learn his name, is rather funny. Even Haganezuka is back with Rengoku's sword, with a much more refined look with high-quality steel and a "Destroy" character...he's only in the midst of refining that exact sword. Inosuke's only looking forward to the Hashira Training, which the actual leaders don't have time to glimpse over what nefarious plans Muzan might drop while leaving Nezuko unattended. They need ALL the help they can get, from active to retired Hashiras like Sound Tengen to train everyone to prepare for what's to come, all the way to the end.

Tanjiro receiving a notice from Kagaya that Tomioka is not participating in the Hashira Training, as he lay on his deathbed with Amane looking after him, time is of the essence. And looking for someone like Tamayo, which has been a rather arduous effort even from a mere crow being Kagaya's messenger, he assigns her to both Kocho and Nezuko to make progress in demon medicine.

Aside from MY FIRST STORY and HYDE's OP being standard Shonen-ish fare, the series is now at its most pivotal point, and this training will be well worth for the final war incoming.
