The time jump in the middle of the episode after Hiyori begged Yato not to cut ties with her was a bit wierd. Like its good that he ended up not doing it but it felt like it cut off a bit abruptly. I dont know if it was the same way in the manga because I havent read it.

What happened in the manga was:

Yato was going to cut ties with Hiyori and that was the end of a chapter. Next chapter is OVA 1, the one where Hiyori starts high school and Yato possesses her body and creates havoc in the school. In the manga, they led us to believe that Hiyori had forgotten about Yato because she was ignoring him. However, she had just blocked him on Twitter because he's a stalker. It was played as a joke, but it was also a warning that Hiyori's situation is unstable and that there will be drastic consequences if they don't deal with it soon. Of course they are not gonna show that until a potential Season 3!

Well I had the same feeling. At first I thought that she had forgotten him and thats why it was it a bit confusing at first. Was the only weak point in the episode.

So... Yato postponed cutting ties, but this whole thing feels really ominous, like it's going to come back soon and cause misery.

The shrine scene was amazing. I'm really liking how this anime is going.

Mannn this episode. I really love how they showed Yukine's development. And Ebisu yow.

I really love the shrine moment, it shows how deep inside, Yato is still kinda like a child despite being a God. Next week lol that face in the preview.
The world shall know the truth soon.

This episode shows a lot of growth for Yukine, and he seems to have developed more of a sense of who he is and how he is able to be of service to Yato. Of course, part of that came from Yato being tempted by money from Ebisu, one of the seven lucky gods. And from what we see, it looks like Ebisu may not be on the up-and-up.

And Hiyori is now in high school. Seeing her in a new school uniform is taking some getting some used to.

But the big highlight of the episode is right at the end... the feels...

So far, Noragami Aragato seems to be continuing strong after the Bishamon arc. There seems be a strong foundation for the next arc, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it will progress.

The only thing I didn't get is why the other five gods of fortune (Bishamon excluded), refer to Ebisu as "baldy", when his current reïncarnation looks like a man in his prime.

Also, how come the gods have different ages? Tenjin is an old geezer, Kofuku a teenager (physically at least), and Yato, Ebisu and Bishamon seem to be something in between. Yet Bishamon's uninterupted lifespan and appearance, unchanging since the Sengoku period, seem to suggest that, at least at some point, gods stop aging.

On the Ebisu thing, no idea. They say that in the manga too. Maybe it's a mistranslation and he meant to say that Ebisu is all stuck-up, emotionless and usually acts like an old, bald man or something like that?

As per God's aging, the manga hasn't explained much on that yet. I believe that they do age (we saw Bishamon as a child in that reincarnation explanation by Kazuma, and we also saw Yato as a child in this episode). But we have seen Bishamon and Yato fighting for ages, so maybe they age veeeeeeeeeeery slowly. I guess they eventually die of old age too and then get reincarnated? :/

I think they just age up to certain age, and then can stay at this age forever, unless they're killed. What this age is probably depends on the God.

The moment Yato got that shrine was so beautiful. Then the short flashback to add on the feels. Those tears he shed over the shrine got me hard right in the heart.

Dat reunion entrance
DAT Money Slap
(I'm no manga reader but I get the weird feeling that I won't hate Ebisu as a villain compared to Kuguha. I mean, his shinkis seem... nice?)
Bishamon's talk with the council, the ost felt like the Kurain OST of Ace Attorney. It might just be me though.
Hiyori's imagination, not that hard to believe. They practically had the same reaction when they were presented with the cash
Dat phone call, I assure you if I heard the same thing you did w/o meeting the client face to face I'd probably be scared by the voice alone
Nora was mentioned this ep so I can assume she'll play a big role this arc (if we also inc. the end credits of last ep)
Yukine matured! I'm starting to like him even more! Shame he's still a kid. Potential bishie too. Great personality from spoiled brat to nagging grandma. lol

Highlight of the ep
Mini-shrine, Yato's crying is contagious.
I was wondering what that shrine was at the ED (I know it was Yato's but I was curious what was it role story wise)
If there's no one happy, is it really a victory?

the gods will die when they reach a certain age. But when they die, a reincarnation of themselves was born immediately. Basically, if Bishamon dies, a child Bishamon with the same appearance will be born. Thats why Kaguha wants to kill her so he can brainwash the reincarnated, innocent, naive Bishamon and make her his ally. You'll understand more at the end of Ebisu arc. They'll explain it very at the end.

The shrine part made me tear up a bit both when I first read it and when I saw this episode. I was kind of disappointed in this episode though since it really didn't contain much... It was like what 1 chapter? I feel like with how few episodes they took to do the whole bishamon arc they could've done a better job with this episode.

I don't want the next arc to get rushed too much in 5 episodes or just replaced with an anime exclusive ending like season 1 :|

Actually, no. It was 2 chapters, like it's been all season. Perhaps it seemed like there was less material because it wasn't as intense as the ones with Bishamon arc. At this point, there's no time for filler as they're going to do the whole Ebisu arc. It probably will end at Chapter 38.

I think they'll end at chapter 39. Makes more sense, better ending, and that's where Ebisu arc really finishes I think.

I also like the fact that in this episode, it is "prevaricated" in advancing the story in favor of a greater understanding of what concerns the gods and their rules. Although in truth it is not true that the plot is not advanced on this occasion, but put props to hold on to understand the status quo, it is always helpful, it just is not abused for doing so. Who knows if it will show in the future, the reasons not "expressed" at the beginning of the episode link between Yato and Hiyori, without that part of the episode has suffered a major loss in terms of appeal. I liked the designs and settings, I can not wait to follow the next episode.

That drama about severing ties between Hiyori and Yato was short-lived. Too much hype for something that wasn't going to happen anyway. Still it was a really good episode overall.

You could easily mistake Yato's character design for someone else, he sorta looks like Moritaka Mashiro from Bakuman.

I still want to see some real death in the series, it'll make it better. I wonder if someone will ever die in this series.

Ooh, yes! Loved this episode. Loving Yukine's character development.
Those last feels were so well-written, so moving.
Colloquy was pretty freaking cool. Love that we got a taste of the deeper lore--served as a great intro.
Hiyori's face-planting into side-walk concrete with her insta-snooze this week was pretty epic. She's ought to be suffering some cranial damage.

The momentary "Second condition:... LOL JK, nahrilly" threw me for a bit. Guessing manga did this better. Also not huge on the bad guy's "foiled!" scene. Felt a bit silly, esp. seeing as his exemplars argued Yukine shouldn't be swayed by wealth as an exemplar...?

Can't wait 'til next episode. <3
