All in all I liked Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry much better than Asterix. I respect the series that once they decide to add fanservice they give it for both genders. In this episode it kind of felt that there was even more Protagonist fanservice rather than that of heroine, whose pure fanservice scene was only the beginning. So comparing it to Asterix even more, Protagonist gives me the better vibe, as he doesn't go embarrassed like a little kid just by seeing the female in underwear before him and then he does not blush every single time he comes in contact with her. Although that, he is consider weakling while in truth he is the overpowered... this plots kind of hurts. Why couldn't he simply be a normal average dude with normal average talent? Oh well, I have been through that before and it doesn't bother me. The other character we are introduced to, the director... she wasn't used for fan service and no she won't be joining the protagonist harem from the look of it, so that's also for the plus. Heroine... well Stella is kind of lacking in my opinion but she kind of grow on me in that Protagonist fanservice scene and the fact that that scene didn't end up more stupid as it did, (as it is usually the case) tells me that I will be able to stomach this series fanservice quite well. All in all, though, the plot didn't interest me that much as it is yet again the usual student battles in LN but I will give it a chance and right now, it does look better than Asterix at the very least. There is barely any fanservice involved after episode 1 tho, unlike asterix that is FOCUSED on fanservice. |

| 4/5 good start The animation and sound are very good and the fight was great. I read the VN and I would have liked some details that the novel explains. I hope that they will explain those things on the next episodes. Anyway the adaptation was very good. |

| As what other posters have said, I agree that it's generic with all the tropes. But even so, it's somehow enjoyable and made me read the manga all the way to the latest chapter, in raw. I'd say that this series reminds me a lot of Index. |

| Oh god, of course she had to be a tsundere right? I should've expected.. Well, it seems like she might actually improve compared to other tsunderes so I hope that's the case. The MC isn't a pushover neither so that's pretty good too. That aside, pretty nice first episode, I don't really care about generic tropes to some extent and this one seems fine to me. I'm expecting pretty good things from this. |

It would be rather hard to depict a scene change in the novel because it'll disrupt the flow, whereas in the anime, a change of scene helps keep it lively. Edit:  Here's what I mean. It's all conversation. You can't just make a scene change by saying they moved to outside the dorm room. |

| I can sort of see why this can be something to look forward. A LN friend of mine did say that this is one of the better ones, despite the somewhat generic setting of a magical school and all. Using his full potential in one minute, seeing more of Ikki's tactics should be fun. This season has quite a few of characters being addressed as princess. |

| Well then, that exceeded my expectations. Liked Ikki from the start and was feeling mixed about Stella, but ended up liking her towards the end as well. Well, guess I can see why some of the LN readers for this were hyping it up a bit compared to other stuff. Maybe I'll check out the LN as well if this keeps up. |

| Pretty generic, uninteresting episode. So many cliches there is no way to note them all... Also srsly, the series seemed to establish itself as all about 'untalented' vs 'talented' people, we see the very talented Stella, and the supposedly untalented MC, but then suddenly the MC turns out to be a f***ing god of talent, seriously he is fucking talented as fuck, just in a different way to Stella.... I really loved the initial theme of a talentless guy struggling to survive in a world full of talented people.. I was about to empathise with the MC. Suddenly the MC turns out to be some martial God of swordfighting and able to use his magic effectively despite low amount of it... I hate how that theme gets thrown out the window in Ep 1..... |

| Lol'd so much at how similar Asterisk and Rakudai were. Esp watching them back to back. Pinkish hair fire princess that had the MC enter on her while changing then hit him and challenged him to a duel XD But liked Rakudai more because Ikki seems cooler and Stella is way cuter. She already apologized and the scene when she was touching Ikki in his sleep was lol |

Also Ikki can only use that ability once in a day. What if he had two hard fights on the same day? He would be pretty much done for. |

| very similar to Gakusen Toshi, in facts it's rather odd the first episodes were so similar. Yes it's cliché & unoriginal in parts but I think it's gonna be allot of fun plus the art was pretty good. |
