Haven't they already done the depressed/identity crisis/shut in story? It's such an overdone story arc, to the point where this is becoming irritating to watch.

I wouldn't want to be friends with Iori, that's for sure. The overload of drama is making me cringe. Everybody just needs to calm down. If Iori doesn't want to be friends with them anymore, then just let her go. Urgh. This "omg you saved me!!!111!!!" thing is getting really cheesy.

this too.

It's surprsing that still none of them gets Iori even though they went through all that shit and she even told Yui what's wrong.

Iori has some serious mental problems but I loved her confession at the end. I mean, it's not usual that anime character just tell off what they think and how they feel about something and someone. It didn't really feel as I was watching an anime. How many situation could have been solved if they talk like Ibana did....

Well, at least now they are able to get their feelings out in the open, since they've gotten use to just broadcasting them, they figure they might as well say what's on their mind as it'll only project anyway!

I can understand this might have more of an impact for the Japanese since they are brought up to be reserved about their feelings, more so then us westerners (although as an Englishman, I kinda get how that feels).

Iori's my favourite, but I can't say I love her new attitude. Of course it's annoying when they all keep referring to what she "used to be" and how she "normally acts", but she's not exactly helping it either. Just pushing people away isn't going to help that much :S
Some really awesome moments like kiss on the cheek and Yui standing up for herself against Goto. Boring but interesting? That means the thought transmission will stop soon (although obviously - there are only two episodes left! :P). She really HAS become strong though. Trying to reach out to Iori failed but she did try. Trying to get through to Taichi about being there for Iori as well ...
Gotta say that I really liked Iori's rant at the end. I mean, it IS pretty confusing what Inaba's been doing, especially the way she said it. Encouraging then also saying she likes him? "Rejecting my rejection"? Yeah, IDK lol. It's not often you see stuff like this in anime, and wow lol, this has been really good so far. Can't wait for the next episode! :O
Also, the animation quality ... *_* It's always been pretty good IIRC ... ;P

Just watched the first 2 episodes of this arc. Yep, Iori has really gone dark this arc. I really hate her for now. I wonder how this is going to be resolved? Will they be able to save her, or will she end up leaving the club for good? Overall, this arc is really interesting. The part with Taichi's sister was hilarious. Can't wait to watch the next episodes.

Since Inaba was getting on my nerve too since she was too obsessed by Taichi despite Iori's concern about her own personality, I was relieved when Iori told her that she's annoyed. I like seeing this side of Iori! Maybe because I'm jealous of her since she don't give a damn about the other and just act as she wants, which it's something you can't do if you think of the consequences.

I think I'm the only one who isn't fond of Inaba.

And I can't wait to see a frustated Iori next episode! Because I love that voice acting of Aki Toyosaki! :)

Finally someone else who is tired of Inaba's attitude! Personally I think Iori is completely justified in her anger; like she says, Inaba's actions make no sense whatsoever. I'm glad she finally gave her a piece of her mind!

That being said, I don't understand why so many are hating on Iori and speculating on when she'll revert to her 'normal' self. That's the whole point; the persons we pretend to be when in the presence of others isn't necessarily who we truly are. Who can honestly say they've never faked a smile or lied to make someone else happy? No one. Sadly, it seems that her 'friends' are unable to understand anything; they only want her to go back to being her 'usual' self even though it was an act.
I think it's safe to assume that this is exactly what Iori's been doing her whole life, and now that that side of her exposed, she's decided to throw caution to the wind and speak her mind freely. Clearly one should censor some thoughts, but generally, I'm with Iori.

Also, I've been waiting for Fujishima to approach Iori since she started this whole act-your-true-self, but so far we've only seen her watching from afar. Somehow I feel like she's the only one who can do anything for Iori.

Iori really needs to tone it down, her friends tried every approach and she keeps thinking "oh my god I'm so lonely, no one tries to understand me and they don't know the real me, well you know what, let's treat them like crap cauz that will make things better". Ugh. I understand it's annoying if people keep bothering you but what the hell, she's screaming for attention and when she gets it she acts like a total btch.

I really hope Taichi will end up with Inaba because Iori fcked things up way too hard and doesn't deserve any kind of attention from them anymore, especially not from Taichi.

Anyway the Inaba and Yui part was good, nice to see some positive things happen in the whole Iori drama. I just hope Iori will stop acting like a complete ice queen and just get over the fact no one knows who the real "I" they are >.<

Agreed! I really like Fujishima, I think she'll be great for Iori. I hate seeing Iori like this :( She's totally justified in my opinion, she's tired of putting on a smile every day to please everyone else. I love Inaba, but she really is messing with Iori's head.

Yui was especially great in this episode, I hated seeing her try really hard to help Iori but it not working out. I hope it does soon T___T

Dramatic development but well in the ending Iori was rather right but still doesn't count she has to change her whole personality just after fixing everything with her past and her mother. But lol the scene where the little sister from Taichi kissed him on his cheek and he spread that emotion xD that was a good scene :p

Nice episode I wonder what's next!

Absolutely agreed. Seriously, Thank you for saying what was on my mind.

Everyone is talking about how Iori needs to be slapped or beaten up but a slap is obviously not going to help. And it's not like the situation was entirely Iori's fault. Inaba wasn't making much sense with her actions either: Forcing them together, then confessing her love when it was going well for them, then getting angry when Iori rejected Taichi while thinking of ways to win over Taichi. If her personality wasn't as likable, she would have been the typical annoying romance-comedy antagonist.
Sorry to all Inaba fans but what she did to Iori just rubs me the wrong way.

the anime version does a crappy job of portraying Iori up to this point....between episode 13 and 14 is just too huge a gap in difference between how Iori is....could have done better, its just hard to watch now

Not quite entirely justified....Iori's the one that forced Inaba to come out with her feelings, and encouraged her just as much as Inaba encouraged her to make those feelings known to Taichi truth be told,to side with Inaba a bit, I would be entirely pissed off too if I were in a competetion and all of sudden that competetion dropped out for no apparent reason, almost out of pity i would have thought, Inaba's much more soft than before...bottom line is you gotta think both ways, you'll have characters you hate sure...but those characters build the ones you love...although the anime didn't do a good job portraying this....i felt bad for Iori, but i also feel like she's going overboard with it too, just my thinking so i also felt bad for Inaba

Fanboyism ruins animes, thats why I always give each character a fair shake as much as possible

Very well said. I personally would just like to think the whole mess as an unfortunate case of wrong person making the wrong choices doing the wrong things at the wrong time. Really, nobody is at fault here. Shit happens all the time even IRL.

I liked Inaba at first but lately I'm liking Iori more for I can relate to her more and more now.

How can you blame her for being the way she is? She said many times that they don't know her yet everyone just keeps going "It's not like you". They don't listen to her and are forcing their ideals on her. I fully understand what Iori means.

Fooling people is easy, all you need is act differently and then different people will have different opinions about you. When they'll meet and start discussing "this" mysterious person, they might never realize that in the end they are talking about the same person.

Let's be honest, how many of you are telling everything you think? How many of you are smiling at people while thinking "Would you leave now" or "liar" and so on? Come on, no one is saint and those kind of thoughts must have passed at least once through your mind.

All her life Iori was doing what people wanted her to do yet never what she really thought. Stress builds up and then obviously you break down until you are able to collect yourself back again.

Besides everything Iori told Inaban was spot on. The girl is selfish. At first she forces Iori and Taichi together, then gets in the way. Then pushes them together again! When Iori finally rejects Taichi and leaves the opening for Inaba she is not happy and is forcing Iori to go after Taichi again so few moments later she could complain once more!

I'm sure Inaba is not happy with this because of Iori's weird behavior right now but for most part that's how it was. "Do it! Don't! Do it! Don't!". It was about time Iori snapped.

Iori's behavior might not be the best but until they won't stop saying "You don't act like herself", there will be no progress since those words are the exact reason why she is the way she is right now.

As you said, this can happen IRL, not the supernatural aspect...but things coming out spur of the moment, for instance Iori's attitude because of the way she feels, or Inaba because she feels like they have all been through enough and Iori needs to understand it's not just her....can't say I haven't had these experiences once or twice...mostly during my high school years though.

wow, so THAT'S why iori's been acting up...

i kinda understand where she's coming from, but it's still pretty stupid how she's all evil and shit now just because of what inaban did
i mean, inaba didnt completely rip taichi away from iori; she even turned it into a friendly rivalry kind of thing between them for taichi's affection

hell, when taichi confessed to iori, wasn't that a sign to her that she won?
it's just too ridiculous for me how iori is "broken," i just see her as WAY overreacting

love the drama, though. reason i love this series so much

Heartseed is probably looking for the answer: this is a great opportunity to get to know your friends more.

This is probably who Iori really is and the solution is not to try to change Iori back to how she used to act but use this opportunity to be friends with the real Iori. Iori is waiting for someone to accept her for the way she is instead of saying that shes acting weird and this isn't herself. She probably was just changing personalities to fit the situation before but now that you can read her mind, it doesn't work so she reverts back to her true personality. =X

Taichi is probably the one who is going to figure this out since hes always the problem solver! Angry Iori is pretty awesome!

Lovin' Inaba so much more than in the first 13 episodes. Idk why. She's adorable to me now. Yui's cute too. I love her strength. Taichi's sister complex is hilarious.

Iori however is starting to piss me off, but I understand why she would be annoyed at Inaba. After all, I can relate to her. I was in the same position as Inaba. ;S Me and friend liked the same guy and I was the one who encouraged my friend, at the same time pursuing the guy.. :c

Iori specifically told Taichi that she didn't know who she was and he still manages to not understand what's going on with her? You're not your usual self he says. What the hell dude? She told you she had trouble figuring out who she was, it seems like some of them are trying really hard to miss the point lol

Blah, Iori's friends fail so much to understand her and that's why they can't get to her. But I gotta give this to them - they are still trying.

No Aoki this episode.. seriously.

Strong Yui.. not sure where is this going.

Iori kind of annoyed me at the beginning when she rejected that boy, but I enjoyed her attitude more towards the end. I thought she was more interesting that way, rather than her plain, cheerfulself. I'm glad she spoke honestly towards Inaban at the end, it was pretty epic. Oh, and the kiss scene was funny.

I don't hate Iori and I really like her. It feels like she's the other me.
And I really like what Iori said to Inaba..
Iori Nagase: You wanted to know what's in my heart? Fine, you'll get to hear it from my own mouth. You're just way too selfish. I don't understand you. You kept trying to force Taichi and me to start dating. Day in, and day out, it was just, "You two should go out already!" And when I finally feel like going out with him, you get between us and say you love him too. But when I said that I wouldn't go out with him, you got angry. What the hell? What do you want from me? How selfish can you be? You fan up my feelings, only come in after, get in my way, and screw everything up. Now isn't that mean? Have you ever thought about how I feel? I should be asking you what you're thinking.

ton't forget coin has 2 sides not 1, & u see only 1 side of the coin like rest of Iori Taichi & Inaba haters, u all hate 1 & cant see the other side of the coin, she acted dumb when sh try'd to bush Iori & Taichi together, but she did not know her own feelings so cant blame her wanting to help friends!!! BDW it make u a bit like Inaba, both blind to the truth!!! & its normal cause people ton't have power to see whats in other peoples minds & hearts!!! so u & other hater's zip it!!! in other words SHUT UP!!! :)

That end really cleared up a lot about what Iori is thinking although I'm sure that's not all that's going on. From what we've seen, I would have expected Taichi to be his usual self and try and help immediately like Inaba was saying.

More self-awareness by Yui. I hope she's able to stay strong on her own and we see this in the next episodes.

TaichixInaba moments are nice too and I'm warming up to them as well. Maybe I'll end up changing my mind about TaichixIori by the end.

And I'm kinda hating Iori now....like....I don't get what her problem is. I could understand everyone's problem in the whole 13 episodes, but this one I don't get....at all....

What the fuck Iori??

I liked her so much in the first 13, just about as much as I liked Inaba, but the tables have turned and now I'm rooting for Inaba.

Damn, I can't see how they will get out of this mess. Iori attitude don't make it easy either, she's way too difficult to approach and when someone does, she hurt them. It's like trying to hug a rose bush.

Seeing Iori so far in Minchi Random reminds me of Saskue in Naruto. Probably not the best example but it's the one that popped up on mind first.

Anyway, Imoutou Kissuuu!! >_<

Aki Toyosaki's angry and cold voice is so addictive. I can't get enough..

I still love Iori.. And she makes sense, Inaba keeps forcing Taichi and Iori to start dating then she'll get in the way.. that is actually mean..
but I still like Inabaaaan! ^___^
i just love iori more..

My my can Iori can any more awesomer?!

Finally a real character that speaks her real thoughts - thoughts that real people will harbor with their friends any time of the day. Witness all the hate that has gathered her here, so many people on MAL here are fake like Iori try to present herself before she realized the error of her ways!

Iori - you are on the path of true enlightenment. Don't worry about what others say about you. They are just people trying to get by their days with as little struggles as possible. They will live and die with zero importance imparted on the world. They are of zero consequences.

Haters gonna hate.

[size=90]What's with Iori's attitude? She's getting worse from epsiode 1...
Taichi's reaction when her little sister kissed him on the cheek = priceless =)))
Loved Yui in the episode & Heartseed did an amazing job messing up the gang once again lmao
Inaba and Taichi's convo makes this episode worth watching <3

It's not easy to handle Iori in these episodes...I barely liked her in the 13 episodes series, now that she is acting like this is impossible to even feel sympathy for her...
Iori was really serious with Inaba, well, somehow Inaba should have never forced Taichi and Iori, it was her mistake...
