Lots and lots of mind games and machinations this week. A pretty solid episode overall. I really quite liked how they handled Morel's conversation with Terradin -- much more interesting and cleverly framed than a press release video like it was in the manga.

Next week is Leorio's finest hour. Get hyped ya'll.

Even tho i know Hisoka is being serious, he always makes me laugh with his inner toughts - ''kill him? or him? or maybe both? huhuhu'', just too hilarious. If he did something to Alluka or Killua tho...i would not laugh, and my opinion of him would probably change.
Thank you Madhouse again, you're doing an amazing job as always. Will stay with all my heart for remaining last 5 episodes *bursts into tears*

That gets addressed in about 2~3 episodes. If you can't wait, some major spoilers in this... well, spoiler. Don't say I didn't warn you, though.

???
He knew Illumi can control people but he doesn't know it was nen ability until he learned it himself. Illumi's disguise was not controlling people but a......disguise. Also it might have something to do with the needle in Killua's head, as he stated he forgot about Alluka until he removed the needle.

Decent and entertaining episode. Loved seeing Killua get angry and even tear up, Killua is a great brother to Alluka. Hisoka was absolutely hilarious when he was thinking about who he should kill so one of them will be after him lol. And damn a lot of people were killed off, that was an interesting ending with Hisoka killing that politician guy. Can't wait to see Leorio be funny next episode and maybe even become Chairman, I know it's probably between Leorio and Partison. Oh yeah, it was nice seeing Bisky. Can't wait to see what happens next! Can't believe the HxH anime will be ending, HxH has always been the highlight of my week for over a year now :(

They must have realize that the audience is much smarter than they expected.

The Narrator plays a lot less part in this arc , but he still plays it in explaining powers for example , and the Narrator was not used because "People are not smart" It's used in the Chimera ant as a technique to slow down and detail every thing happens , also plays the role of an omnipresent character that was used to give the feeling that everything happens slowly with also explaining things that can't be showed off by animation or acting like the time spent , If a character is tricking his mind into believing something he believes otherwise , If someone was too focused on something that he didn't hear any word another person said , Also it was used to shorten time at some points , Like at some part when someone is telling another one what happened while that someone was also giving some indicators.
Given the right situation , the right story , anyone can be shaped into Snake.

And of course my nigga Hisoka.

Was Teradein going to release information about Ilumni and that's why Hisoka killed him?

One thing I only noticed this time through with the anime is that no one was aware of Hisoka even being involved in this? He killed everyone he ran across, and Killua and his butlers were only aware of Illumi I believe.

If he doesn't want to be found out, then he won't be. If I recall, in the Yorknew arc, the only people who knew Hisoka was a "spider" were the other spiders and Kurapika, whom Hisoka purposely told.

The zodiacs all realize Hisoka is a murderer (and a deviant), but are probably unable to do anything against him because (1) they don't have proof and (2) the hunter commandments forbid it, since they don't have proof... Antagonizing the hunter examiners doesn't actually violate the commandments, because no one actually died, and he wasn't a hunter at that time. (I guess that's the problem with the current system. They can't just sit around and wait for a hunter to be caught committing a crime, esp. violence against civilians.)

Amane and Canary saw him before he killed Gotoh. Beyond that, his involvement isn't directly known. The faux Seirin group thought Illumi had hired help to kill the Hunters they sent to capture his Needlemen, but they didn't know who the help was.

In the previous arc Togashi made us think that hunters weren't that powerful, and now he shows a bunch of overpowered guys along with Hisoka and Ilumi, two of the most mysteriously powerful guys on the show. That's why I love HxH

Great episode. I'm really enjoying all the politics and mind games of this arc. It makes for a thrilling and suspenseful watch.

As usual, though, the most compelling thing about this episode was Illumi, and his interactions with Killua. The dynamic between the two characters is so intriguing, and the continued insight into Illumi's twisted psyche more so. He was more than willing to sacrifice himself to ensure the safety of the rest of his family, demonstrating his love for them, and that includes Killua. He was practically shaking with glee at the thought that his death would cause Killua pain forever, guaranteeing that Killua will never forget him. In Illumi's mind this is equivalent to living in Killua's heart forever.

And I think that's what's really unsettling: Illumi truly loves Killua more than anyone else. This entire arc has been hammering home that point, especially ever since Illumi blew up on Hisoka when the latter threatened Killua's life. He loves him so much that he has no problem dying and causing him endless guilt as long as it ensures that Killua never forgets him. It gives all of Illumi's previous actions a new context. Illumi probably thought that sticking a needle into his little brother's head and controlling him was a perfectly reasonable and kind thing to do. In Illumi's mind, Killua becoming the perfect assassin is the most he could hope for, just like his mother; it's not a coincidence she's on Illumi's side in all this. To that end, Illumi causes Killua misery, pain, guilt, all with the conviction that it's for the best. In short, Illumi's malicious actions actually have no malicious intent behind them. They are, in Illumi's twisted mind, acts of love.

He's so oblivious that he doesn't realize that Killua doesn't love him as much as he loves him, or at all. In his mind, he and Killua are both dear to one another. Or perhaps he does contain some awareness? He certainly knows how much Alluka loves Killua, and indeed, the way he constantly harasses and angers Killua, intentionally, by degrading Alluka seems to almost imply some sort of...jealousy. Killua loves Alluka, while ignoring the brother that loves him. It's mostly speculation at this point, but it's something to think about.

I was thinking the traitor would be Canary due to her name, but it seems that was just a clever red herring. Good solution all the same, to have the most loyal member be the unwitting leak in the group.

Also, more Hisoka creepiness. We haven't had in a long time, and it is glorious.

This episode was just packed with awesome moments of all our key players. Illumi made the episode for me though. Like MeAm said the best part of Illumi is that his motivation and deeds are conflicting as hell. He is extremely entertaining to watch and I wished that Togashi gave him more scene time.

Why didn't Killua tell Illumi about that healing rule earlier? That he can heal Gon without any risk. I know it's not like Illumi will buy it. Then Gotoh and those amateur hunters probably wouldn't have to die. Did I miss something?
