| I swear people use the Word "Orgasmic" to describe something and then they're like BOOM make it a Plot. So in this case, The Food was Orgasmic! xD some people never cease to amaze me with what they can come up with.... Although i do have to admit i like how he explains (in some depth) how to cook his Meal's which will probably lead to me trying to make some (didn't take a culinary class a while back for nutting). |

Did you actually make this from the first episode and how does it taste? Lol I love the main character how he is able to cook the food flawlessly especially in times where he has to improvise but when he shows his food creations, it's all about the plot after that. I see this anime full of potential and hope it stays that way since i'm enjoying every moment of this. |

| FANTASTIC! Maybe I found the anime I was looking for so. A first episode really incredible, very nearly if one has seen before Graffiti, remain almost shocked as I was. Pleasant narration although it has a bit of déjà vu with the title just mentioned before; but there you bored sometimes, while here we laugh and it is also instructive. If you keep these levels and we focus a little more on food and in giving a perfect adaptation of the story; will be almost a masterpiece. |

| HAHAHAHA How am I suppose to react to this ? The manga had better art and look way more epic of course. But those foodgasm are totally over the top.. at least few times more than the manga. This is way too funny.. I can't stop laughing at those scenes my goodness. They totally look like they were firefighting with their pee. XD This will definitely shoo away those non-manga readers. I like the bgm.. helps build up the atmosphere. |
| besides the fanservice i loved the first episode. I'm not a fan of ecchi so i don't know how long i can handle this anime. I hope they focus more in the development of the characters and not in naked bodies. |
| Have you ever eaten something so good it drives you to the point of orgasm? damn I wanna try that. Anyway I'm enjoying everything so far. The comedy and especially the food.. makes me hungry. The ecchi well it's funny. It's not that sexy even though we've seen some almost nude shots but it's more about the teasing than the actually nudity. But it's good still. I've been wanting to watch some anime about food and cooking but somehow Toriko is just not for me.. but this one.. ecchi and goddamn J.C. Staff.. This one is for me! |

| Haha that was hilarious. I think I have never seen an anime with food + ecchi lol. But it seemed like a good mix. :D Pretty interesting. The characters are pretty cool. | After reading 100+ chapters of the manga (my first manga ever, btw!), I was excited to see that they had started the anime of Shokugeki no Souma! Of course, I knew about the ecchi foodgasms from the manga, and even though I thought they were weird at first at the time and later got used to them, I wasn't as prepared for the anime version as much as I thought lol. Seeing a drawn picture vs. a fully animated scene of foodgasms was quite a change! Personally, I think they went a little over the top with it, but at the same time, I love the manga SO MUCH and know I'll keep watching! Everything about this first episode was spot on, and it was amazing to see the manga come to life in anime form! Can't wait to watch more! -- 4/5 |
| I just started watching this show and one way to describe this is "porn with a bit of cooking on the side". The cooking is what reeled me in to this show, but the ridiculously over the top fanservice is making me want to drop it. Might watch a bit more episodes and give it a chance, idk. |

| Not sure if this was good 1st episode. It was not bad, but not very good also. The art is very nice, but what else? Maybe plot will be good, but it lacks comedy value and the ecchi is strange :| I can put up with this foodgasm, but why naked men and this tentacle octupus shit that I hate... It was not so much fun as I wanted. I hoped that so high ranked anime will have better first episode. I hope second and rest will get better in this school. |

For something rated that high, i feel compelled to watch it, but honestly, if I wasn't eating while watching this episode I would've stopped in the middle. That bitchy bitchful bitch non-character was also stupid as fuck. Seems like every show has one such idiotic character these days (like Clementine in Overlord for example). So fucking bad. Seems like this anime's only value is to be showy as fuck... Not an ecchi fan to begin with, maybe that's a requirement to actually enjoy this show, in which case I will probably quickly drop it... |

| I hope that he re-opens that resteraunt otherwise I will always hold a slight grudge against this show for bringing that epic scene down to nothing, like... '...and then I woke up, and it was all just a dream.' ASIDE from that, very good first episode. |
| Uhhhhh... I feel like my supension-of-disbelief-balancer was being yanked every which way while watching this, probably because I tend to take shows seriously and the sudden food deathmatch battle to save the restaurant was throwing me off. I guess I can see what it's going for, though. Once I loosened up a bit, the reactions to the food were actually pretty amusing. I'm a bit sad we probably won't see more of Souma's dad. He seemed pretty cool. It was considerate of him to close up shop just so Souma could attend an elite cooking school. |
