Going by majority of the responses above, most of the anime-only's have already boarded the feels train because of the last part. You want to totally devastate them?

Quite the sadist you are, I see.

Yes ofc, because we manga readers felt that pain! we must share it with the anime only peepees!

Man, is MAL full of sadists or what?

This was quite weaker episode than the last episode imo especially I think they could have skip the Chiaki's scene especially that ramen part wasn't any special at all.

Also Kaguya's character most of the time have been scratching my head this episode sets another great example like according to premise she was supposed to be "excels in every field imaginable" yet struggles to understand twitter or whatever. Furthermore I am not liking how the romance being directed on this episode and making it too overdramatic. They should go normal way like before.

Wasn't this supposed to be a beach episode? Why did they do the ramen bit? I didn't find it funny at all.

Also, the last 2 minutes saved the entire episode.

Will say though, I do think this is the closest the anime has come to dropping the ball, really big missed opportunity to not end this episode on the tonal shift it should have.

I'd still prefer it if Chapter 44-45 were in one episode together, but I don't mind the decisions the anime made.

This is more of a personal preference. As for me, if Kaguya-sama was using the same formula every single time it wouldn't have become one of my all time favourite manga. It is because the manga contains these dramatic moments that I am able to adore these characters much more than I would have otherwise. And if we ever get a season 2 there will be many moments like the last segment of this episode with less jokes and more drama but that doesn't mean that the comedy would be absent from the series since Kaguya is primarily a comedy show.

yeah i get that it was what they were going for, problem is I don't think it worked and in the end ended up just making the episode kind of uneventful, its not by much but it does kind of show that this episode's 5's percentage is lower than other episodes when it really should of been one of the highest

Like i said, closest thing the anime has done to dropping the ball, it was very much not an ideal way to pace the episode. Still a solid episode especially with how they actually adapted the early parts of fireworks, but I just kind of was hoping for more.

Few series can kill you of laughing and then break your heart in a single episode, Kaguya really delivering hard.

I lost it with the Twitter part (poor Hayasaca) and the ramen part was as legendary as I remembered it, all to finish with some massive feels into the last episode of this season, we better get a sequel q_q

I guess you're right about there being no real last impression from the last segment of the episode because it lacked a conflict. That being said, I think the main reason why the percentage is low for this episode is mainly because the other segments were not up-to-par, especially that ramen segment. Even for me, this is my least-favorite episode from the series because there's a chunk of the episode I didn't really care for as much as I normally care for this series. Even if they adapted more of Chapter 44, I don't think it would've saved the episode enough to make it one of the highest.

yeah the ramen chapter was kind of a drag ill admit but the other 2 segments were great. I honestly remember the ramen chapter being better but it kind of felt like all the jokes telegraphed themselves way too much, then it confoundingly removed the one really funny part with ishigami.

I understand next week is obviously more important, but its still hard to not be disappointed cause ever since the anime started I have been looking foreword to how anime-only people would react to this part, so to kind of be robbed of it to a degree is a bit hard of a pill to swallow, im, still getting that stuff next week but i just feel like it doesn't hold the same impact by cutting 44 in half like they did

I love it that they kept the Hayasaka chapter. Was afraid that it would be left out, but not too worry. She has one hell of a bad job for sure.
We're setting uus up nicely for the finale there. Look forward to seeing this animated and voiced.

Fujiwara's greatness again. She's so much more than the cute airhead trope. I love her.

I am really glad they adapted this random chapter about her in the ramen shop. It looks like a radom filler without connection to anything but it's all about the fact that there's more than meets the eye with Fujiwara. She is no commoner :D I loved this part in the Manga and they adapted it perfectly, with music, over-dramatisation and a the right tone for the humor. In general I still prefer a lot more the manga over the anime but this episode was one of the moment where I thought the adaptation matched my expectations as a manga-reader.

Well done!

Agreed totally. It's really surprising to see this level of popularity of Fujiwara. I think the main reason is the ED2 but as you mentioned, anime is really adapting her differently than manga. Oh well, nothing really a loss so no problem. Howerver:

Damn dude, the first part was funny and then after the Ramen part it was sad AF.

Like Kaguya and Shirogane not meeting up at school. And just not being able to communicate with each other, mainly at this point because they're afraid.

Then kaguya's piece of shit Dad. I thought he brought her to Kyoto for a proposed Marriage. I wonder why he did bring her to Kyoto...maybe we will find out next week.

I was feeling good about the fireworks until the end of that episode. Kaguya might leave T_T

The ramen part was hilarious imo, even if some didn't consider it funny it still was worth watching because of the animation quality it had and how it played out. Kaguy and shirogane(and the rest of the schoolf of that matters) are in summer vacation so that means they aren't in the school roght now so they can't be like before until the school opens it's classes again. The chemistry of kaguya-shirogane is overdramatic as it is since neither is able to express their feelings as of the moment.

Sitting on it a bit, yeah its sad to say but the anime staff kind of fucked it up this episode, this episode should of been making people dying to see the next episode but with the lousy decision to cut the chapter in half instead robbed the chapter of its impact especially when we go into next week and the 0 to 100 tone will feel misplaced.

Its a shame cause the actual content was well adapted but the pacing is just wrong. It also doesnt help people are overhyping the event too

Low in comparison to the rest of the series. Of course, 80+ is always super impressive feat. I don't particularly dislike the ramen chapter. I just find it to be one of the weaker chapters of Kaguya-sama, even though I still like it (which goes to show how consistently good the quality of the series is).

This sort of event (where one thinks too much of another's skills, even though the other person's oblivious about everything) isn't particularly unique and I've see funnier uses of this event in other stuff. Like, the jokes felt too obvious and predictable in this segment. I think the main issue, for me at least, was that they cut out the last two pages of the chapter, which is the punchline of the chapter.

Maybe because it is far too difficult to see something never seen before in 2019. It is more important how high the quality is than the innovation the series could give.

This might be the sad truth of this generation. Shows must be loud and new and flashy, and someone needs to tell the crowd that they should love it. I just today saw a documentation of the origins Ryuuko from Kill la Kill being based on a TV spin off life action show of an anime from like 30 years ago. So what we are seeing today mostly is just the reboot of a remix, based on this manga from a guy that watched this anime back then and so forth. But if you are looking at it in general every form of entertainment is just learned from forgotten masters at some point...

A fun episode! I’d love to follow Chika on Twitter. She went to Dubai!?!? Sugoi!!!! Also if Kaguya had actually been banned because of something inappropriate she had done by accident wouldve been funnier.
The ramen part is my most favorite part of this show so far. I really enjoyed and laughed at how that Ramen Connoisseur (and the owner) reacted to Chika just casually eating her ramen. Shows me again how cute and how best girl she is.
The after credit scene kinda felt out of tone for this rom-com anime in my opinion. And a wow👍 to Ai

Last episode next time...it's almost over, and I already want a second season.

I'm with Hayasaya...her dad should should dead, with Kaguya being summoned for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Speaking of Hayasaka, it was really nice to see her get some screen time and some more insight into her character. It was very cute. But I have to wonder...who's going to clean up all that sand? Is it sand? Or was it bath salts?

In this episode, Chika and her siblings is going for summer vacation. We could see there a quite fan service lol. Also during Hayasaka take off her clothes scene, thats freaking hot. Just kidding lol. And the camera angle we could see, is pretty weird in anime (If you know what I mean).

Though Kaguya is smart, she basically don't know about technology lol. Hayasaka had her bathing moment interrupted just because Kaguya keep calling her to guide with what she don't know about twitter. That whole part is pretty amusing.

I wish both of Shirogane and Kaguya could just be open with each other. Feel bad to see them missing to see each other really badly since summer break is pretty long and both of them is too shy to contact with each other.

Anyway, this episode was amusing at the start until the mid but quite sad at the end.
