Are you being serious right now?

"Cuck"?

Really?

I'm just saying this is how it always goes, whoever the president is, the opposing political party will play partisan ball the entire address.

Hell, I remember in Obama's final SOTU he said "This is my last SOTU" and the GOP immediately clapped and yelled with joy....while Obama laughed and gave a clearly sheepish grin at the reaction.

This is how it's always been.
Joking? About cucks? Surely you jest.

No, I haven't seen other SOTU addresses. My basic take has always been to show the POTUS respect even in the face of disagreement. There were lots of non-partisan moments for the Democrats to take part in and they decided to do what you just told me:

"Furthermore, if I had been in that crowd, I would not have applauded a single thing Trump said."

You're being obstinate for nothing more than to make a statement that ultimately achieves nothing. It just makes you and the Dems look like sore losers.

Well, guess what....NO they don't show respect.

Obama was NOT shown respect either.

One guy became famous for openly calling Obama a LIAR during the fucking SOTU one year!

Here I have a video on it:

^This was by a GOPer...while Obama was making his SOTU address...at least no democrat did something like that!

And Trump deserves ZERO respect!

What respect has he given to Americans?

Outside of America, Trump is hated to an even higher degree....the world thinks even LOWER of us Americans Thanks to Trump....we're all a bunch of fucking morons who elected an unfit reality TV star to the most important position on this planet.

And you know what? They're not wrong.

you literally said they originated in the US, as in they have roots in the US.
they were from central america.
and when did i say race determines what gang you're in?
where in my post did i even mention race?

I thought you may have thought origins meant race in my original post, so I addressed that.

However, the gang was formed on U.S. soil. I don't know why you replied to my original post because you also said it was formed by immigrants lol the gang was founded in LA. You can google it. It's actually insane.

meh, it's just a compilation of their speeches before, the same old plans that they've stated during their campaign, not that I care about it since I'm on the neutral side and I'm a NEET, so it doesn't really concern me that much (as of now).

Another person that has clearly never seen SOTU addresses before.

Go back to Obama's SOTU to see how many times the GOP would not applaud Obama even when he said things that CLEARLY were nonpartisan.

This is just a game.

Furthermore, if I had been in that crowd, I would not have applauded a single thing Trump said.
Okay, the GOP is filled with obstinate cucks. What, were you hoping for me to play team sport here?

Also, you seem to be an obstinate cuck yourself. Why?

What a shame that we have to be "obsessed" with the actions of the most powerful man on this planet.

And YES, the President of the United States IS the most powerful human being....if only because he is the Commander in Chief of the most powerful military in existence.

But I wonder why we're soooo "obsessed" with a man that continues to embarrass the United States and seems to not know a goddamn thing about the position he's currently in.

Boy...I just can't figure it out.

He hasn't done much of that, heck, we're lucky to even have a decent immigration bill and he and the anti-American Pai killed Net Neutrality. There are so many good people in office retiring due to Trump's incompetence. Face it he's a bad president and is not good at all at negotiating.

No, he didn't. In the very same speech he outlined a bill that would give a path to citizenship to even more people than are covered by DACA.

And again, the bill he proposed for immigration is based on what the majority of people actually want, at least if we can believe that harvard poll. This is already as potentially "bi-partisian" as it can get.

We got tax reform, and are on the verge of solving illegal immigration... remind me how long you and anyone else have been practically begging for anyone to pull that off? And within the first year of four, no less.

Just the other day I listened to a smart man that described people like you and living in your own illusion. People will never be able to break you out of your illusion. It's just going to take repeated positive gains through the Trump presidency, as a direct result of his action, over the course of perhaps years, until you finally come to grips with reality.

What the hell are you doing when even the most hardcore politicians on the opposing party are being swayed by Trump? What the hell are you doing when even the leader of the democratic minority doesn't say "we disagree with him" but " we're begging him to lead us"? I can't break any of you out of your bubbles, since it exists within your own psyche. The only one who can do it is you yourselves, and I'm just going to have to survive your delirious nagging the whole way through I suppose.

Do you assume that conservatism isn't growing in popularity in the younger voters? People don't automatically think the way that you do just because they haven't been alive for long enough.

"This CBS News survey is based on 1,178 interviews conducted on the internet of U.S. residents
who watched the State of the Union Address. Panelists were previously interviewed on January
29-30, 2018 to indicate whether they planned to watch the address, and if they were willing to
be reinterviewed after the address.
The initial sample of U.S. residents was weighted according to gender, age, race, and education
based on the American Community Survey, conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, as well
as 2012 and 2016 Presidential vote. Respondents were selected from YouGov’s opt-in panel to
be representative of all U.S residents. The final sample was weighted to be representative of
those who said they would watch the State of the Union address according to gender, age, race,
education, and party identification. The weights range from 0.3 to 3.9, with a mean of 1 and a
standard deviation of 0.4."

That said, I'm glad you're being critical of polling. We all know that polls are misleading and sometimes/often downright lies, don't we? *coughcough 99% chance for Hillary to win coughcough*

Willful ignorance.

"Trump has to deal with SJW's"
- No one.

But you're so blinded by your bias. What you observe is purely driven by what you want to observe, and not any actual truth. You repeat the same points while not taking into any consideration any of the actual facts that are pushed into your face, and any time you ever concede a little bit of rational territory, you push your illusions back into it within your next few posts.

Not assuming anything.

Hillary did win popular vote though. Trump won from a fluke of the system by winning the right states. So polls aren't wrong also the polls that were heavily toward Hillary were months before the election. The ones closer to it had it more close to eachother. Also polls give an indicator of chance of winning not a guarantee.

Political affiliation isn't skewed like something like this can. People that like Trump more or can tolerate him more are more likely to watch a long speech. As I already showed you young people arent mostly conservatives and they will be more likely to do something else. Both factor in this way.

I liked most of the address, he managed to put the Democrats in a tough position with the immigration compromise. It was a little bit of a gotcha moment and they looked extremely unhappy about it too. I also thought it looked bad for the Democrats not standing for some very simple acknowledgments, he even swept his hands to them as if say 'surely you can stand and clap for this?!'

I did not like the nuclear proliferation, higher military spending, threats to Iran and Korea. Countries across the globe are building arms and that only means one thing, war is on the not so distant horizon, and we seem to be racing to fill our part in the play.

Overall this year I have been happy with my vote. I had realistic expectations on how much Trump could get done, the Republican party has long drifted from its core principles and is part of the problem in Washington, so I already had little faith in many of them.
The corruption and political power of the CIA and FBI have done much to undermine the presidency this first year and it looks like the Russia investigation might be blowing up in the Democrats faces pretty soon.
Trump had a crash course in Washington politics this year and I expect that he is getting more savy to them by the week. He certainly looked good during the portions (we could see) of the DACA negotiations and his Davos meetings. Should be an interesting year.

Sure, let me make a correction.

If you're not a young person in "Old" California or NYC, then the statistical probability of you becoming conservative sharply increases.

And this is why the so called "fluke" actually exists.

I mean overall it was a pretty boring speech. They state the obvious for most the speech, then pull out some family as a political prop and talk about their situation when it suits their agenda. Yawnfest.

Seriously though, people have got to stop with the emotional outrage and keep claiming Trump is the most incompetent man in the world or something. Overall he's a pretty bad president and no one's even sure what his stances are. I am not even sure if the the bills being passed have anything to do with Trump's personal beliefs, because he seems incredibly impressionable on many issues and is merely caving to the Republican people surrounding him.

However when people set the bar so low by berating him for every offhand comment he makes, have the media going crazy over Trump's every move as though it's some insane end of the world move and running bad candidates like Hillary or Oprah against him, you are going to have people that are pleasantly surprised when he does anything half competent.
As shown by the poll by @Thrashinuva,

Actually Trump winning the election was always within the margin of error of the polls, journalist were too busy being emotionally outraged of the mere existence of Trump that they didn't bother looking deeper into anything.

Those maps dont show the influence of gerrymandering or just overall how districts are made even if unintentional also influences how things look. You can have more blue (or red) but turn the whole map red (or blue) with the right district shapes. On top of that thats a map of votes is it not? That doesn't show political affiliation of just the general populous. The US has some of the lowest turnout of voters out of any compairable country. Only about half of eligible voters vote. To make it even worse not only does it ignore people that didn't vote it ignores everyone that isn't republican or democrat which outnumber them both when added all up for total population. And even more so the map if it indeed is a map of votes it's outdated and can't possibly be used as an indicator of support for Trump. That map is useless for getting even a vague idea of what people's views on Trump are or even their political affiliation. Your claims of some conservative youth implied to have grown to be as large as if not larger than older people you have yet to provide any valid evidence for.

Yes I've explained in almost every thread relating how the electoral college makes a joke out of "democracy".

Yes I've explained in almost every thread relating how the electoral college makes a joke out of "democracy".

Yes. It's the 2016 electoral map, divided by counties. Did you not even watch the video? Do you want me to repeat what the video states? It's only about 5 minutes long.

Hawaii had the lowest voter turnout with 42% of the pop going out to vote. They typically have the lowest turnout of any state, hanging around 50%. Every other state was above 50%, ranging mostly between 55% and 65%, reaching up to 74.8%.

So again, California is not the only state to exist. California had low turnout, which is mostly due to the large amount of conservative California feeling that their vote doesn't count against the extreme Democratic focus on the coast. Which again, you might take issue with, but there are steps to alleviate this within the system itself, as each state decides how their electorate votes are split. California could decide to split off half of their electorate votes to the rest of California, and they could then vote accordingly. But of course, the Democrats there wouldn't be able to maintain their selfish interests in that case, which is why they're trying to split the state into two.

Voter turnout in 2016 was higher than it was in 2012. Either that or it was pretty break dead even, depending on which source you use.

(Don't get mad at me for the dumb looking map)

That said, it's better if we don't force the ignorant or the uninterested into voting for our future. It's good that not everyone is required to vote. A better strategy to improve the country would be to educate the ones who want to vote as much as we can, and try to promote interest, rather than changing the way our system works.

As for "that's outdated", yeah, so is yours. That's what you call hypocrisy.
