| Op there's actually more fans of yaoi on this site then you might think, it's certainly not as popular as yuri but there's still fans. Yuri tends to have a lot more accessible anime available for people to watch, while yaoi most of the times is very graphic with not much inbetween. There's not many genuine gay romance anime that doesn't include rape fantasies or over the top sex sequences. Wouldn't mind seeing more yaoi couples in mainstream anime, as long as they extremely over the top and stereotypical. Kanji from Persona 4 is one of my favorite gay characters, wish there were more like him. |

| I always thought that yaoi was far more popular than yuri, since most female fans tend to be attracted to yaoi series. Most of the time I've checked out a female user on MAL with more than 300 manga entries, it tends to be filled with an overwhelming amount of yaoi one-shots or single volume series. I just think that yaoi gets more hate because most men dont want to read or watch homoerotic series involving men. I dislike both genres and tend to avoid them. Edit - out of the people that I actually talk about anime and manga to, none of them have ever talked about watching or reading a yuri series. |
