Poor doggy :<

But this whole plot is so stupidly thought out. I don't understand why didn't the kids just went with sensei when he left? And also, the bus was driving on PAVED road when this accident happened. I think it should be pretty easy to track where the bus went off... it's not like Japan's a third world country where there aren't roads in certain areas.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

Just look at teh picture above. Teh forest isnt anywhere walkable, its a livin' hell with leeches everywhere and no light. No one would want to walk thorugh dat, get lost even with all teh marks on teh trees and they are basically powerless at this point. Dats y sensei took half of teh rations.

Every normal person would just walk out of teh anime version forest though on day 1... Such a beautiful place, with flowers everywhere <3

For sure somebody will come. And they can stay on the river meanwhile, protected from fire

Uhm, let's see.
There's a possibility of suffocation. It's also painfully possible that they'll burn with the forest even if you take the river into account. And... the odds that someone would realize they are in that burning forest is slim.

..the anime didn't mention that it's the rainy season though.

This is just a flashback but damn if it isn't a gripping, well narrated one. I haven't been this absorbed in a long time. What's also interesting is that you already know Amane is the only survivor, and that fact stays in your mind the whole time.

Good episode, once again returned to flashback of Amane and Kazuki, the story is getting very dramatic at this point, I want to see how it will develop this arch

Really keep thinking that adaptation had more episodes for sure the quality of the anime would be much higher ..

it was a rain season in the VN . she explained that even if they wanted to do that they couldnt do it.

please, don't tell me you can't start a fire in the rain, I've done that shit before

Oh, wow. While the atmosphere from the VN really is somewhat lacking, the brutality is still there.

Pretty good adaptation so far, it's understandable they're leaving some stuff out (like what Kazuki was doing to the unknowing Yuuji). Yes, everything worsens each day, though there some moments of comedy and lightheartedness, like them cute Amane and Kazuki scenes.

So far 8-bit hasn't skipped any of the hard-to-watch stuff, so hopefully they'll adapt it all. The dog probably tasted so good... i know from personal experience that even the most common meal feels like bliss after a long period of starvation. Kazuki as cool as usual, and next time it'll be shown why she's my favourite heroine.

I'm curious what'll happen to Yuuji and Amane in the next episode, and also if that man is even going to be shown at the end.

Pretty smart of Amane to use the car horn, even if it didn't succeed.

With all that rain, I'm surprised they haven't used the empty containers to catch rainwater, since it would be cleaner than drinking from stagnant water from after rainfall, or the leech-ridden river.

Too cruel they say? Too cruel would be killing the dog while it was alive to eat it, or cannibalize their dead classmates. And would it have killed Kazuki to simply close the dogs eyes? She was only complaining that it was "looking" at her with the eyes open. Although I'm sure she still wouldn't have found the courage to do it.

With that knife they have, they should have considered setting up small animal traps the moment they started feeling the need for foraging. Could have been lucky and got a rabbit or something. ...better yet, they should have taken that bus apart, (especially the horn), and hit the road--since that teacher is likely not coming back. Not alive, I don't think. As for the girl that can't walk...how difficult would it be for a bunch of middle-school girls with no survival skills (except one girl with a broken arm), to take a part a bus to fashion it into a wheelchair?

Bet it was the teacher that stole the carrot before he left. He sounded like a douche from the start when they introduced him..."it'll be fine~". The dick just had to jinx it.

These girls don't get enough MacGyver in their lives. Watching the old 80's show should be mandatory in schools--it's for their own good.

Lol holy shit I thought the dog was a stuffed animal the whole time. Seeing as how they were going to a camp I didn't think they would let a girl bring a real animal with her.

Now...I know where this is going. And I like it for the sake of drama. But if we're being completely realistic here, they were on what, day 8? It's common knowledge that the body can survive 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food. Factor in how much food they rationed from the forest as well as the perishable food, on top of ALL the rainwater they could've collected, they could have survived for quite a while. Incredibly malnourished, but they would have survived.

But still, it's some intense fucked up drama and it's really good.

They didnt let her, she just couldnt go to teh camp without her cute little doge, so she did hide it in teh bag.

And yes: Most(Half?) of them would have survived this situation. They will however make a "small" greedy mistake, which was foreshadowed in this episode. AH also ends btw. nearly at teh 3 weeks mark.

It's been 11 days! Search and rescue should have found them by at MOST 2 days in real life. When the people that are expecting an entire class, do not show up, its obvious that the class has been in an accident. The tire popping, along with the brakes that were applied, should have left obvious marks into the dirt road indicating that a large vehicle careened off the edge. If I were in charge of search and rescue, I could have easily found this class on the first day, if I had been contacted about missing students.

Something like this would also show up on the news, about missing students. Kids that go missing show up on the news, so definitely for an entire class.

Gotta love how unrealistic an anime can be...

I went through over 7 hours of text of this godforsaken flashback in the visual novel. xD

On another note, this was pretty well done despite rush.

Do everything to survive. That seems to be in all of their minds. Even eating the dog, only some had any objections. It feels like their teacher is either dead or didn't come back for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they kill and eat each other in the next episode. Even so, it looks like they're gonna be there more than 15 days or at least a miracle will happen to them.

You'll see where they really screwed up.. heh.

Quite the episode. I believe this episode has everything that was good in the adaptation, and despite cutting a whole days into mere seconds, it didn't feel so unnatural of a pacing and everything worked well enough.

Well there are just good episodes and trainwreck ones. It's just a shaky adaptation overall. 26 episodes could've added a lot of missing scenes and could've had proper pacing and better directing and atmosphere. Well I guess the director isn't at fault like most people try to blame him when an episode sucks. 8bit chose to make this anime in higher budget for 13 episodes. The director doesn't decide the number of episodes in the end, he just directs them in that timespan.

Geeez, this the worse survival situation that I've ever seen, frankly it violates every survival rules when the opportunity to get rescued is present i.e, there is the river as Bear Grylls would say "follow the river down stream co'z it leds to civilization", second they could have used something shinny, like a mirror to get the helicopter pilot's attention by using the reflective side by reflecting the sun's rays . Fourth, they should have divided into two groups where one group stays while the other group finds rescue after 4 days, but, they did the right thing when they cooked the dog for food, btw, how does dog taste? It taste like beef with lesser fat, now I don't know about you guys, but to where I came from, dogs are just like any other livestock, so sue me.

As much as I hate to say this but it looks like anime writer, Hideyuki Kurata, and director Tensho weren't watching "Man Vs Wild."

This was adapted from on a Visual Novel. Which this specific route was plagiarized from the movie 'Alive' that was made in 1993.

This wasn't made to be the ideal survival story where everyone are saved and live happily ever after.
The whole idea was to kill the characters to make one character survive.
And basically everyone are supposed to be regular high school anime students except of Kazuki, which is a genius.

The idea behind it was to make them die despite having a genius on their team, and build Kazuki's connection with Amane throughout the flashback in the VN.
I guess in the VN I thought Kazuki is capable of saving everyone, but she's limited and bound by what the story was supposed to show you. Even if it's Plagiarized, it still stood as something great of its own. I guess it's the characters and their interactions, and the great shock factor and all the suffering the characters go through.

Yeah, highly unrealistic however, this got me thinking about investing in a satelite phone (~$500-$600) and flare gun (~$50-$100) for times when I do plan on going on camping trips and such. But yeah, if this was anime was in the real world, it wouldn't have taken long to rescue the basketball team. It's as if everyone just forgot about the class, separated from reality.
