It started out better, but after the appearance of 5 it went down a bit. And the ending wasn't bad per se, but I think it could have been better.
But soundtrack and visuals were nice, and although she gets so much hate, I thought Lisa was a character, that felt more realistic as a human being than most people in most anime.

Enjoyed the anime and the art and OST was epic but the ending sort of didn't make sense...Why would the detective blame Japan even though he knew these were Americans shooting them? What was the point of only killing 12 and stuff. Still like it however.

I don't understand. Wakaranai. I really do not understand.

I think this series started out so exciting and well done but it was all pretty good until Five came in and things went weird. Sphinx wasn't this Deathnote mastermind pair anymore. For some reason the ending leaves me thinking - what the hell?

I'll give this series overall a 8/10 but this last episode was a bit of an disappointing end to this nicely crafted start. Oh well. Best of luck to you Lisa and Shibazaki.

So dumb. Seriously, what a stupid show. I can't believe Watanabe was behind this; the same person who created Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Baby Blue. What the hell was he thinking. I haven't come across such dull characters in a long while, let alone such a contrived plot. The only redeeming qualities are the animation and the soundtrack. Unlike Watanabe, at least Yoko Kanno hasn't lost it. I thought I was in for something brilliant when I read the synopsis and saw the director and the score. What a disappointment.

3/10

Nearly died at the end when I thought they were going to play Sigur Ros. So glad such a beautiful band weren't associated with such an awful show; all the tiny could-be references had me worried.

well... that was pretty good. i wish the helicopter scene was done more 'realistically'. as soon as 9 pulled out that detonation device, the snipers wouldve eliminated both of them at once.

8/10 it was decent.
the art was beautiful at times. many memorable scenes. the chars were alright... lisa's char was a shame. i thought she wouldve been one of those prodigy kids too but lost their memory or something.

wow they even detonated the atomic bomb, ended up being a great show
This anime surprised me from beginning to end, and I thought it was a great final, terrorists working for hope, it seems like something unthinkable
The animation combined with weather presented by the history, development and the soundtrack were great and still had excellent characters
The anime is certainly among the best of the year, and is one of the best I've seen for sure recommend this great story ..

Loved it. From the beginning to the end it was a fun and exciting joy ride. Although I thought it would've been much more complex, it ended quite simply. Nonetheless, a great anime and an 11 episode might I add to that. I wish it was at least a 24 episode series, that way we'd get a more complete and thorough understanding of everything. 10/10

An anticlimactic ending, but I liked it. It was like a work of art.
There were a few bumps in the road here and there, but its overall pretty consistent I guess. Could have worked more on character development and background, but its hard with 10 episodes. 8/10

5/10.

Take away Kanno's music, the visuals and Shibazaki adding a human edge and all you're left with is attention seeking, do-gooder 'terrorism'. There's nothing beyond the surface. Painfully shallow--to such an extent that the 'infodump' scenes towards the end only revealed the obvious. There's barely anything worth saying about the series if you exclude superficial aspects. I'd watch a Hollywood movie if I wanted boom-boom. They do it better.

If anything Twelve regressed as a character: going from sinister-playful in the first ep - hinting at there being something more to his character - to a white knight with no backbone. Lisa existed for pointless idiocy and to ruin Twelve. Nine didn't develop. Five existed to... play chess and attempt to commit actual terrorist acts?...

Maybe if the idiot duo had been blown up in ep9, after such a tender/intimate scene, the series could've gone out with an unpredictable bang. Instead, it was pointlessly predictable to the end. Even the Americans had to appear just to continue as blonde 1D baddies. Toilet writing.

Watanabe can only handle 'episodic fun-cool'. This series is the result of him trying to go for substance over only brief flashbacks for depth/no narrative focus... without adding the substance. I don't get it.

The way this played out, they were truly the winners here, with the Koreans in second, assuming they weren't too badly affected. Can you imagine in the aftermath the sheer amount of profit that was made by corporate America in exchange for rebuilding Japan's industrial infrastructure? It's staggering. Ford, GM, GE, IBM, HP --- they're going to clean up. As well as the military, since Japan is going to be even more of a vassal state for a while again since they can't defend themselves anymore. I guess if Nine wanted to subvert the Athena Plan's goal of making Japan independent, he did a smashing job.

Uncle Sam couldn't have asked for more perfect little terrorists than these stooges.

I hardly believe that bombing their own country that wronged them is quite shallow when they are attempting to awaken the very country to the secret it lies behind. Terrorism was one of the options that would garner attention and be kept tabs on.

They don't want people to die and once people realized this, they were still feared but a small admiration to fight against the police, like all of us might have imagined.

Twelve was a child, he's always been, he never cared about the plan, he was an accomplice with Nine. Not a true worker. If you read his dialogue, he never seemed to put much effort and was far more intrigued by the world around him than anything else. AKA, Lisa.

You can say Lisa was pointless, boring, uninspiring. but at the end of the day, if we wanted a real human person as a role, it's lisa. Not everyone needs to be penultimate mind calculating to the last digit awesomeness that is Light/Lelouch of this generation. She's only human, like the audience. They would have blown shit up and killed themselves like in Episode five when she touched the objects in the apartment. She doesn't act with her mind but only her emotions and that....that is what lead to a downfall of ahuman being when they don't think rationally. But how many of us really do?

Nine was a father, he didn't need to develop, he was ready from the get go.

Watanabe did a fine job directing the scenes. HOWEVER! The writers are to blame for the characterization and very hard to find information on Five and their actions. I can suggest this website

http://moesucks.com/2014/09/25/terror-in-resonance-ep-11-finale-your-hand-in-mine/

On it's views regarding the themes and politics but that's up to you to decide. I enjoy the series and that's the thing. I I I I enjoyed the show. I know others won't cause they see things the other way but from an objective standpoint.

This show is a 8/10 give or take from people's enjoyment caus ethe characters will vary your rating. Hate the characters, then this show can go down to a 6.5 or a five if you just didn't give two shits.

Those who liked the characters and analyzed a few scenes to understand the purpose, you might give it a higher rating. I don't think this is a 10/10, or even a nine. But I had too much fun watching it that I can't help myself to give it such a high rating.

This is what MAL is about. the individual's enjoyment of a show.

Sad to see this show end, I would have rather had a 24 episode adaption to the show but somethings can't happen

I actually thought the bomb was going to go off right after the planes couldn't reach it.

I did like the little cheerful ending that suddenly turned dark where twelve got sniped by the american government. (Dead in Pieces 12)

The ending credits OST i loved, it was beautiful and I pretty much listened to the rest while I was looking other stuff up.

Im not gonna lie, one of my favorite adaptions of the summer anime season, thanks Watanabe! 9/10!!

STILL TENOUDDATEN

Seriously though, it was very lovely, and seeing as how someone my country was associated made it even more entertaining for me - not only is the music beautiful but the lyrics make it all the better.

I could rant about the lack of character development, but everything else really made up for it imo.

Final Verdict: tenouddaten

An atomic bomb that's so high up that it won't kill anyone, but it will destroy everything electronic? Genius.

When the bomb exploded and the lights appeared, that was freakin' beautiful.
So Shibazaki was Oedipus.

Noo, Twelve got shot! (T_T) And Nine is gone too.
But in the end, they were still VON. They were the hope people needed.

This started and ended better than some other anime.
Hopefully, their legacy shall be known throughout the world.

Wow - I practically uttered this word as soon as this episode ended.
Just wow. The atomic bomb going off too - Just wow.
They expected to die and before they did, they wanted to share their story to the whole word, but in an unorthodox way.
The only thing I really didn't like was Five, I didn't really understand her character.
Despite all the shit she did, she just wanted no one else to have Nine and she ends up committing suicide. What a poorly written character.
Anyways, everything else was wonderful - The art, animation, music, our protagonist's motives, etc.

The stillness of Japan after the bombing was both eerie as well as soothing. Ending the show with the ost fading out to silence left a bigger impression than expected.

Although this conclusion was certainly powerful, I can't say I'm all that happy about it. It seems like its potential was distorted by the amount of time five took up with her rather unnecessary presence in an otherwise solid show. It was also unfortunate how predictable this ended up being with the main goal being to bring the sins of the corrupt officials to light. It really pains me how much potential this had at the start with the concept of terrorist protagonists as well as the ingenious use of the story of Oedipus Rex in the riddles.

Another part that took a toll on Zankyou was how underwhelming the characters were. In a plot driven thriller I don't ask for much in this department, but I just couldn't find many reasons to care about Nine and Twelve or their cause. Then there's Lisa. I will never write a character off as useless as I believe even the mundane roles serve a purpose. My problem with her was how her perspective was never explored beyond her being a nuisance to Nine and the thing that humanized Twelve just wasn't delved into deep enough. As for five...well I really don't even want to start with her. Such a waste of time.

With that said though, the execution of what was there was certainly breathtaking at times. The production values are top notch, just a shame that the content couldn't match.

One thing I like about the conclusion was how Nine and Twelve made Lisa and Shibazaki into monuments for their memories. They knew they were short on time and wanted to leave proof of themselves behind. Japan in the dark was proof of the calm solitude they experienced at the institute. Lisa's role was proof they were alive, that they got to be humans. Shibazaki's role was proof of their cause. Nine calls Shibazaki Oedipus because he stopped at nothing to reveal the truth.

Overall I have mixed thoughts on this as there were glaring shortcomings but also excellent moments that it deserves due credit for.

Well how can I desdcibe the ending, I'll simply say it was satisfying.

After the last episode I really thought they would be taking it down a different route.

The anime started very well, and although I would have preferred it to be a death noteish anime throughout as the beginning suggested, I enjoyed it all in all. Overall it was quite nice.

I would say 8.5-9 anime overall. There were problems in the writing when five came in but damn everything else was perfect. I think this anime is unique as the atmosphere is more important than the writing itself. The scenes were beautifully directed and it was truly captivating. The anime set out to do what it was meant to. I couldn't ask for anymore except it being longer. My favorite work from Watanabe.

DAMMIT, I freaking hate tragic endings. I do understand that in a real life scenario Nine and Twelve would've definitely been killed, most likely even earlier than when they did. BUT SHIT if I wanted some sad, melancholic ending I would just gone to watch the news or something. Now, if only Nine had died i probably wouldn't feel this dejected but Twelve's death killed me. I loved his character and for all saying he wasn't developed properly like all other characters during the series you really need to have more pragmatic expectations. First of all, in 11 episodes of 20 minutes do you really expect each and every character to have outstanding amounts of growth? You must be really dellusional. Twelve was probably one of the more elaborate characters who at first seemed cold, cynical and carefree but by meeting Lisa regained some sense of humanity back. He softened and it was heartwarming seeing him show such consideration for Lisa and Nine in the last few episodes. I was ultimately revolted by his death and honestly I wanted them to at LEAST show Lisa's life after Nine and Twelve's death but everything is left up to speculation. Blah blah blah everyone says tragic, miserable endings are beautiful "so cinematic". Yeah, sure they had one of the most crappiest lives you've ever seen without any family, friends, HELL they didn't even have proper names . They were stripped of any happiness they could've possibly had and you say them dying meaninglessly in the end by the hands of America is beautiful? REALLY? I can't, I just really effing can't. Rage over.

Some characters lacked development or they were simply poorly written. That aside, the art, animations and especially music were out of this world, so techically speaking it's flawless.

I think everyone was expecting a little too much, since there was Watanabe's name in it, and me too of course. It's not a bad finale, I mean it makes sense but I expected something more like "memorable". 8/10 for me.

Waiting for next Watanabe's show.

That ending felt really stupid and rushed. It took what would otherwise be a strong 8 to a weak 7, and I'm only not giving it a 5 because I loved Twelve as a character.

Some characters weren't developed well enough, some of the reasoning was weak and asspulled, and it felt like it ended way too soon when the story was just getting started.

1 cour is good for some things, but it wasn't for a story like this. This anime is what I was most looking forward to for the summer anime lineup and it's just left me feeling disappointed and empty at the pointless deaths and forced attempt at a neatly-wrapped (and rather anticlimactic at that) ending.

If you took the beautiful music and the great art style and explosions away, we're not left with much. Especially not with that ending. What a disappointment.

How do I put this.....I want to call this a masterpiece, of sorts. Though it's not quite to the level of Spike's adventures (few things are), I like the risks this anime took. One hell of a denouement.

Perhaps there was potential that could have been expanded upon, but if the only thing we're wishing for is that a show had more, that's not the worst complaint, now is it?

I loved this show, and along with Tokyo Ghoul, they're my favorites of the summer season. I will accept this as a worthy addition to the canon works of the man who brought us Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.

I really was expecting both Nine and Twelve to die because they were hinting at it, but I wasn't expecting the USA to come swooping in and killing one of them off for no reason.
Just... Why? They were both dying anyways, we didn't need a Diabolus ex Machina.

wow I guess only myself think that Zantero has a really great depth character development (especially Lisa and Twelve). but it just how complex / weak the storytelling was so it resulted people having the different understanding to the series. In fact that I would like to relate how Zantero characters having more realistic traits to that of humans in real life. So probably it comes off not interesting as people expected to me.

Nine, Twelve, and Shibazaki served as the characters who done most role on intelligent part and revealing Japan's darkness. Lisa and Five weren't the character device, nor the characters who ruined the plot story (in fact they have a purpose to keep the information up). Five is served as character who prevent Nine and Twelve's goal and in order to develop more of their characters. And Lisa, I love the fact that she remained to be useless in order to keep the pacing of the story (despite many people hate her) because she was actually represent us, the audience. She also portrayed same as nine, twelve and five because she was also the part of victim of abuse. While nine, twelve and five are victim of abuse because athena plan, lisa is victim abuse of bullying and family issues. I also tend to think that Lisa got the both role as "their trump card" (Like helped sphinx in the airport, suggesting twelve to help nine in episode 10) or also can be the falldown for both of them in order to having Nine & Twelve character development (most likely twelve) I tend to think that Lisa is someone who make both nine and twelve as more human and represented represented the one who survived and brings the bright "hope" for them in the future.

In fact this anime actually can be perfect but I couldn't deny there are some flaws. (Like first to the half end of the episodes, it's like the mystery aspect fall flat). But yet I found each events in every episodes complete a simple details and reach the conclusion/ending very perfectly. I satisfied enough because you get the moral/value of the story about self-worth and revolutionary in different way. So yeah 8.5/10 for me (But I rated it 9/10 for MAL)

The episode kind of lacked greatness around the middle but picked itself back up to produce a beautiful yet sad ending.
