I'm getting really concerned. What if he has to undo the D-mail about Kurisu being stabbed? Does that mean Kurisu will be dead? Also, did we ever actually see Moeka's D-mail? We know what she said she sent, but we don't know if she was telling the truth. She's a spy, after all. On the bright side, Ruka no longer has any memories of being molested. That poor, poor child...

This is so sad....

NOW THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I WANT MULTIPLE UNIVERSES.

So that there will be universes that these girls are happy! If only one timeline, which is obviously Kurisu will come out as a victor since she's the main character.

A timeline for Faris, Ruka, Mayuri, and Kurisu. Now that would be a masterpiece I will acknowledge as a favorite of all time. Otherwise... well congratz Kurisu, now I'm going to tend to other's broken hearts.

Btw... oh shitt.... he have to let Kurisu die.

A bunch of virgins, the lot of them. hahaha

It was already starting to show in last episode, but in this one it's pretty hard not to see the obvious "MC helping out his personal harem of girls" pattern. Not that I mind too much, cause all the girls are interesting in their own right and the character interactions are still great.
Ah? It seems Ruka-chan has memories from the other world line too... Welp.

What?? Ofc you don't have to seal away your feelings for Okabe just because you turn back into a guy, Ruka-chan ! This is 2010 ffs, you've got millions of options! Be gay, or wait till your majority and get an operation, take hormones etc. Be Free!

Ruka :(

Don't tell me it's going to come down to reversing the very first DMail... Kurisu... But Okabe won't allow the situation to resolve like that I'm certain. I hope believe he''ll discover a way to force a change where all the people dear to him will go on experience happier destinies. But what about Moeka's DMail, or perhaps I missed a detail where it was already reversed.

*Goes off on tangent based on the events of the past few episodes*

Metaphorically, these DMails enabled their senders to essentially live in alternate "dream" worlds derived from the single wish they were granted. However, they are "fake" fantasies that must eventually come to an end and the ones who made their wish must once again cope with the harshness and cruelty of reality. A theme I see is that "ultimate" happiness is ephemeral, and happiness in general is an unequal exchange. One person receives a greater level of happiness, but someone else experiences a greater level of despair. Of course, this show doesn't demonstrate that exactly as Okabe is undoing the wishes in reverse order so we don't know for certain which may or may not have been necessary to reverse. But still, sacrifices are being made somewhere sometime in order to allow for happiness elsewhere and/or at some other time, and actually that applies to life in general.

What is true happiness but an ephemeral state that all humans eternally desire? All dreams shall come to an end, but they will have value and meaning even if they are not meant to be. Treasure such moments of bliss, but always remember to move forward.

Well said. I feel like there might have been a work-around or something where he somehow manages to get his hands on another IBN-5100 (albeit with a lot of work and research) and then just deleted all the D-mails from SERN's database so that he could return without having to reverse the D-mails but I think it would take too much time and too many repetitions that Okabe would probably go crazy. The show does a good job of differentiating between the best way and the most effective way. The best way is definitely to try to find another IBN-5100, no matter how many repetitions so that everyone can have their wishes, but that's just not realistic or within Okabe's power. He is human after all.

So it finally reveals that every people have Reading Steiners, but those alternate realities are like dreams which are forgotten and need to be reminded of.

I think that he could search for another IBM5100, but he would still have to undo all those D-Mails to change the time line to beta world line to save Mayushii.

So what does Makise remember at this point? Because if my understanding is correct. The new memory transfer hasn't been built. None of those heart warming events happened. Really it's like around episode 4 or 5. So does she remember nothing?

While I'm on that point. To my understanding, basically everyone else has no recollection of anything that happened in the non-Moa world. So everything after the episode where the city changed, nobody remembers. So we are back at square one for everyone else? Please explain is someone has a better understanding.

Exactly when did SERN hack their computer and get all their D-mails? Except Kurisu's one, why were the others important to SERN?

Awww, I would have loved to find out whether Ruka was really "suppressing" his love for Okarin (when he was a boy), or he never actually had a love interest for Okarin outside of the world lines with female versions of himself. Honestly, I prefer Ruka be a boy. I love his personality and who he is.

Also, I wonder why everyone has reviving memories of their previous world lines...

pretty funny episode and some virgin talk lol. taru keeps bringing up hentai games is freaking funny. I feel so bad for ruka having that happiness of finally being who he felt he should of been and having a slight chance with the one he loved and then all of it gone. At least okabe gave him some happiness. now 2 more to go not one also seems like anyone can keep partial memories of different time flows.

Episode 18 aka Ruka's Episode

Okay.. there's less of a plot twist in this one compared to the two previous episodes..
..but the drama is still consistent.. emotion-wise...

Why you Kurisu suddenly send that D-mail.. you scared the hell out of Okarin!
..and why did Okarin say "one more D-mail"... I thought we still have to undo Moeka's D-mail, then the lottery one, then the last one --- KURISU'S GETTING STABBED!!!!

NO WAY!!! NO F**KING WAY!!!!!

World line shifts so far..

This episode makes you think about the situation transgenders may suffer. How one's sex affects their lives and surroundings.

Another life, another D-mail.

This was a heart-breaking episode. It gave some much needed comic relief and then tied it all together with a sad and meaningful ending. But the fact that Rukako didn't outright say he has a crush on Okabe at the very end makes me think Rukako didn't retain his memory across world lines

She said she had the IBN-5100 and broke it on New Year's Eve. Couldn't he just send a D-Mail to her telling her not to break it?

Could've been a reasonable, not as painful solution.

It was an accident, no way to prevent that. Even if he was very careful, something else would have happened to break it or prevent Okabe from retaining it.

He could've told her she would break it and she should pay attention. It makes sense that if she tries not to break it, she won't break it.

Even if you think it won't work I think it deserves at least a check. It's way less dramatic than changing her back to male figure and crushing her hopes and dreams.

He could've also d-mailed her so that she won't be home that day, or she'll give someone the IBN-5100. Who says that she'd break it every time?

By that time he already understood it won't be that easily to take it back. It's more logical to think that erasing that D-Mail would be a more appropriate solution, and that worldline is bound to result in Mayuri's death anyway.
You could imagine he trying that if you want, but it won't result in anything.

Virgins arguing the fact that they're virgins and Okabe and Kurisu throwing Virgin-related insult at each other... PEAK COMEDY HAS BEEN REACHED!!!

Wait, does Ruka have the reading steiner ability or is it something like what happened to Faris, who somehow got her memory from another worldline back?

Okabe dating with Ruka was so awkward, it felt so forced, yet it's cute to see them doing their best to date as a couple! Good thing that Okabe returns to Ruka to train with her, her farewell with Okabe as a girl
is so heartwarming and yet there's so much feels in it, just like when Faris is saying her farewell to Okabe. I can't belive I would feel sad hearing Okabe saying "but he's a guy" Well now I kinda ship Okabe X Ruka but Okabe X Makise is still the priority!!! (Besides now Ruka is back to being a guy, he himself refused to have a romantic relationship with Okabe as a guy.)

Daru might only love 2D waifus right now, and only Faris as a 3D girl. But later, he'll find an actual wife and hopefully by then, the future has changed for the good so that he can spend his time with his wife and his daughter, Suzuha...

SO now that prev ep was about Faris and this ep is about Ruka... Is it time for Okabe to deal with Moeka?!

If i was Rukako, i don't think i would do it - Mayuri's life or hers - sorry Mayuri, but if it was me I'd see the whole world turned to ash before going back lol
I don't think i can handle an ending where she's stuck like this forever - what kind of living hell that must be.

Ruka really is more feminin as most normal woman even as a guy. Of course it must be super sad for him to give up being a normal girl like he always wanted.

That conversation between Okabe and Kurisu who's the bigger virgin was just priceless hahaha.

The date was most of the time awkward because of Okabe and his unnatural behaviour. I'm glad that changed back to normal at the end and gave Ruka an unforgotten day even if she/he will forget it.

I think to change back the D-Mail of Moeka will be more challenging as all the others.

The date was hilarious, but I'm glad that in the end both Rukako and Okarin (mostly Rukako) accepted what had to be done.

One D-mail left to undo its effect. I feel it's gonna be the most interesting D-mail undoing episodethe, since it will be the one sent by Moeka.
