Everything about Nagare annoys me, like anyway I'm seeing him explained. I even refuse to acknowledge this as an epic fight because of it, this is a really terrible episode for me, especially since Ushio and the girls emotional stuff was put in the bg for this lame Nagare explanation.

1) If it's because he was too powerful and had to be lazy until he found a good opponent in Tora was his reasoning for doing this it's total bs because Hakumen No Mono is clearly stronger than Tora, and why wouldn't he try to test such a legendary evil unstoppable force? Like seriously, how can you decide to coast and be lazy when you're no where near as strong as the strongest thing in the world? Hell I wonder if that Avatar of Hakumen could of kicked his ass.

2) If it's because Ushio looked at him too purely and it put too much pressure on him, I guess I can understand the logic behind it at least. STILL, that makes him so pathetic of a character, understandable, but pathetic and a figure I can't respect. I completely agree with Tora's trash talking about him, scared of a little kids eyes, like wtf LMAO I can't believe it.

3) If it was partly both 1 and 2 combined, that just combines worst of both worlds to me.

And another thing because the more I think about it the more confused I become! The reaction to him being so talented seems like utter nonsense and garbage to me. Maybe it's because I'm thinking in a now era state of mind, but I don't understand how this epic genius who is awesome at everything would be treated the way he was to the point he had to worry about him mom being harassed and everyone trying to take him out? I mean I get people would be jealous, but THAT jealous to leave death wishes printed on his house? More importantly, wouldn't the jealously be immensely overshadowed by the pride and praise the people of his vicinity would have for him? Wouldn't they try to make him a city/national icon if his talents were so epic? Why didn't school higher ups try to take advantage of him to be a mascot or hyper of their school talent if he was such a genius?

In fact, he wasn't even a simple nerd, he seemed to have been a jock sports genius too, where were his crew of kissups that'd for sure be his clique who'd beat up those randoms who tried to fight him, or his fangirls since he seems to be a some what handsome character on top of his uber talent. Hell even if he was unlikeable where he'd refuse to allow others to hang out with him, or follow him around, I still don't see how he wouldn't have been a school legend they appreciate from afar where'd they'd not let random people completely trash his house and jump him.

I mean if he was a woman I could understand stone age beliefs back then might have considered him to be a witch or some kind of dark arts, but I didn't think they had that for males. The only thing to explain why they'd act like that is if they thought he was some sort of bad omen or some voodoo cursed type character, but they didn't portray that like people those he was a demon or something.

damn I hope Ushio don't blame Tora for Nagare's death. Whatever the reason, face or heel, he brought death upon himself. Nevertheless, it's a kind of relief and he left in peace.

The fight was epic, but I cannot help but think that Nagare's arc could have been handled in a better way. I can understand his reason to betray his allies, but the explanation was very short and imo, needed more than one episode to explain it.

Anyway, RIP Nagare, you were ones of my favs, so it sucks you have to die.

Asako's scene felt very sudden to me.

This episode was awesome. Tora is the protagonist of the show, imo.
Really interesting to learn more about Nagare's past in an epic fight. They are so badass when they are excited.

Good to know I'm not alone. Like most people in this thread, Nagare's motivations confused me. Whether it was rushed or also like this in the manga, this episode was my least favorite of the season. His betrayal was too sudden, and his death at the end of this episode didn't have much of an impact on me.

Otherwise, the scenes with Ushio and Asako were fine. And Tora's reaction to Nagare's death was interesting.

Yeah nagare's betrayal is probably the worst written part of this show for me, it was so fucking random and haphazardly introduced yet abruptly concluded that it weakened everything about it, the fight was cool as hell but this all just left a sour taste in my mouth which ultimately boiled down to nothing more than just a cheap conflict to pad the time, there should have been more foreshadowing for this sort of event than just randomly making an ally want to destroy everything and stab all those in the back especially when you portray his relationships to those allies as genuine in the end anyway.

the ushio and asako scene in addition to the fight being pretty entertaining despite the awful writing leading up to it were what saved the episode.
Pretty much this, I cringed so hard at this episode, his past that somehow leads to this betrayal doesn't really make a lick of sense.

I wonder if I am the only one who got flashback to this:

Never saw no miracle of science, that didn't go from a blessing to a curse
Never saw no military solution, that didn't end up as something worse

Nagare turning traitor is one of the few scenes I didn't like in the manga, but the explanation was much better there.

That said, the fight was great, and his death scene was really well done.

This episode here was the one that started the big peak in this series. That fight was intense.

For me, Nagare-niichan became one of the best male characters this year. I found his motivations easy to get, though i understand the confusion some had with them since they were meant to be irregular and unrelatable. Tora was pretty baffled too; normies don't get the woes of geniuses.

Nagare was better as a bad guy. Those evil faces.

But besides this being rushed, I can kind of understand Nagare's thoughts on everything. The conclusion had a nice feel to it too. Can't say I ever liked him though so moving on~

Gahh I love Asako and Aotsuki's relationship and watching her try to support him even though she 'forgot' about him was touching to watch.

Plus Tora vs. Nagare was action-packed and came to a sad conclusion.

Anyone else notice that Nagare has nipple tassels? Can't believe I didn't see it sooner.

Yeah, I like the manga design more; it's got feathered tapering across the front instead of tassels. Why would that even be a man's jacket, seriously?

I wish Ushio would have heard that Asako didn't care if he even became a monster. She doesn't remember him, but she still *feels* him and all those past times are still inside her, even if she can't recall them.

Her and Mayuko are a lot alike then; Mayuko loves Tora, even though he's a monster. Asako would feel the same way if Ushio became the same.

I look forward to reading Nagare's end in the manga, since I know the anime changed some things, but every time I have an issue with this series, it turns out to be the subtitles instead.

Mediocre subtitles can ruin any good episode. So, I really want to see the whole picture and fix them.
Life can be cruel and unfair. At worst it can traumatize and cripple you. The desire for wanting things to return to the way they were can cost everything and changes nothing. The best way is to keep moving forward, struggle on.
Anger can be powerful but can only get you so far. Let people into your life even if some of them leave you in time.

Fight. Like. Hell. For everything and everyone you love. Always.

Nagare had a really stupid reason for betraying, he could have asked Tora for a fight.
And lol, Ushio doesn't know how to make a dangerous face at all.

Wooo... I'll admit the fight was impactful from the beginning to the end. All those screamings, violence and stuff. But if Nagare wanted to go all out in a challenge then why wouldn't he had stayed with the Kouhamei sect to fight Hakumen? This I think would had been a much more thrilling challenge and would have had more point. Sad stupid death...

I thought Ushio drew Reiko naked...but he didn't. smh
How lucky of Asako to see a HAMMR vehicle pass right by her.
Nagare.
lol at Ushio's face.
Asako jumps.
Nagare grew.
LMAO at Tora laughing at Nagare then Nagare going crazy.
Nagare dead.

Ushio trying to be mean was pretty funny and we got another sweet moment between him and asako. So far they both said I love you but not to each other yet so guess that will be saved for the end. Wait so nagare turned cause he was freaking bord this whole time and ushios eyes made him feel bad? I was digging the character, but the reason behind this turn was so dumb and the whole past thing was confusing. Why did parents hate his mom? Also who the hell designed his jacket. Those nip things makes him look like a stripper. Great fight still. I wonder how ushio is going to take this.

The art style of this season so far is so John Romita Jr (the artist of Kick Ass). Also pretty good action episode.

Without any doubt one of the worst episodes in one of the worst 2nd season in the history of seasons.
I can't even comprehend how people who clearly noticed how bad the writing was, can enjoy the fights.
I can't care less about the fights if the story is bulls....
I felt like the writer was moving the character like a stupid puppet, making him change his hearts 180° just because the writer had no idea how to proceed.
The lamest episode I have ever watched.
