| The start of the most controversial arc ever!!!! This episode was a bummer for me. I was expecting to see Ging but oh well. You done goofed Ging!!! ARRRRGGHH!!! Well Kite is an interesting character so far. Can't wait to see more of him. Chimera ants huh? Ooooh boi! This is going to get dark. 5/5 |

| That was not Ging! Well, I feel sorry for those who've watched the old version (Greed Island arc OVA) There's a gap of 9 years between the last episode of HxH Greed Island OVA (Old ver.) and this episode! They kinda changed HxH 2011 story for the audience only! In the first ep of HxH 1999 Kite is introduced to a 6 yrs old Gon I think, but in this version, they've never introduced up until now... That 'clown' that Kite has seemed really awesome, it can give him randomised weapons he had! If Gon did not meet Killua, he would never reach this point but if he did, he can go to Ging... |

| As expected that that wasn't Ginn, was quite obvious in the original as well. Pretty interesting backstory and character development though! As well as a nice start into this new "ant" arc! |

| The fact that Gon could've actually met Ging face to face had he used Magnetic Force to meet him alone was surprising but I'm sure that his decision to take him to Kite instead would make him even stronger than he already is, ensuring that Gon will be able to catch up with his dad without difficulty if he ever decides to run away and hide again after they've managed to meet once. Kite's an interesting character, someone who's actually good enough to track down and be an acquaintance of one of the greatest Hunters in the world. The Chimera Ant Queen's menacingly stocking up on energy so she can give birth to the future King but it looks like she'll be running out of fish before that happens. |

| This was an information-packed episode from start to finish. Totally bamboozled after thinking that we're finally going to meet this Ging guy. Kite looks like he's going to have a big part in potentially training Killua and Gon, taking after Biscuit's role. We're finally at the Chimera Ant arc, I've heard some insane hype circulating around this arc specifically. Thus far, Yorknew City arc is my favorite in the series, however, the fans of the show swear by the Chimera Ant arc. It seems Ging left a lot of people looking around for him. |
| the reunion with gon and kite and their relationship was very different in the manga. they shared a much stronger bond and recognized eachother immediately in the manga, while they barely knew eachother in this episode, which is kinda dissapointing, because it makes less sense from a story perspective. |
| the opening animation really rock~ there's so mystery around gin, i hop all that will be solved at the end. and though learning about kite, i have feeling it's not everything about him. wonder what is it about that queen, and the whole chimera ant thing, really expecting this arc. |

Changing the One Piece flashback to episode 4 didn't change the series at all, like for Gintama's first two filler episodes or FMA Brotherhood episode 1 (where the manga flashback or the episode 2 of the anime (full) would have been more appropriate in my opinion), but it didn't spoil anything, here this is not the case. I think there was also a challenge side that turned Gon on. And even if that wasn't the case, the Gon - Kato relationship was destroyed (or almost), not at the level of the facts, but at the level of all the meaning it gave to Gon's travel. I know some of you want to continue to enjoy the 2011 and therefore try to think that it's not that bad or it's the Madhouse version. But in my opinion this is not the case. This is pretty serious imo.. I would like to have another point of view as is your case, but personally, I admit that it is my personnal feeling, and that I do not really succeed. Forgive my English.. I want to say there are different angles of view but unfortunately I personally see it like this. Yet I am someone who preferred the first FMA anime to Brotherhood. So I do not always struggle with alternatives versions (even if in fact I often find it bad). If the anime had included the flashback duly, I'm sure it would be scored at least 0.10 points higher or even 0.20 or more. There is only one solution, deny this version, and completely (or almost) revise episodes 1 and 76. It would require a re-release on Blu-Ray, a halt to the marketing of the first version, and international broadcasts which are based only on the revised version. Despite everything, I try to ignore it and take advantage of it. Madhouse shot himself in the foot. __________________________________________ PS : The whole "Just According to Keikaku" thing was imo stupid, far-fetched, and incoherent with Ging's personality. Worst filler of all time in animes. Developed the Ging - Kite relationship was interesting but sadly insignificant compared to the rest. Ok I can't respond to the whole thing rn but manga aren't released in a single day. 1997 is the day One Piece debuted. There are still hundreds of chapters of OP coming out after HxH chapters at any given time. |

Not only did this affect Kite, but Gon in the 2011 version wanted to become a hunter to meet his father, however, Gon originally was inspired by Kite to the point of adapting Kite's goal (to find Ging), so he wanted to accomplish finding Ging as a challenge, NOT as a family reunion. Gon's personality uniqueness was ruined by changing why he's searching for Ging, and how he feels towards him. When Mito lied to Gon, how did he know his father was still alive? Oh right, she didn't lie in 2011, so let's give her less character development instead; after all, she's a minor character, right? No, that's also bad writing; she's been reduced to a two-dimensional character with only two traits: she loves Gon and tells him not to become like Ging. The third omitted characteristic is that she actively lies to Gon about Ging's death, expressing her dislike for Ging and the idea of Gon becoming like him. |

| Looks like this is the beginning of a new arc, very interesting start so far, this whole meeting of Kite which was done on 1st episode of old HxH version seems like a more better approach and looks overall better than flashback of Gon meeting him during his earlier years |
| The Chimera ant arc has finally started and I'm very excited to meet new people. Kite is a good dude as well. Excited to see what adventures are waiting for the boys. |

| And at last ... we head into the famous Chimera Ant arc! Still find it odd that they cut out Kite's story from the start of the story which they did in 1999. Everything going according to Ging's plan seems crazy, if it is he must have some crazy clairvoyant powers. Kite seems like a great guy though judging from what we've seen so far, he really doesn't want to take lives if he can avoid it. Never expected the Chimera Ant arc to be actually about ants though lol. |

| To be honest, it's only the first episode of this arc and I already feel uneasy and nervous. Throughout watching HxH so far I haven't looked for any spoilers but a lot of people have said that this arc is not for those with weak hearts. I'm definitely not ready for whatever will happen in the future, especially after seeing at the OP and ED, omg.. what... why.. it looks like Gon and Killua's friendship & bond will be really tested here... and I don't know why but I swear I'm so worried about Killua T___T I mean, if we judge from their quite opposite personalities... Killua is the type who often hides his feelings while Gon is more blunt / straightforward... I'm actually afraid... On the other hand, I like Kite. I'm honestly happy that Gon and Killua met great, supportive and genuinely kind people like Bisky and Kite. |
