It definitely has a pacing problem with episode two to nine being far from perfect in terms of pacing what happens, too much info dumps.

No the average is a lot lower than this. However you rank this show, against ALL of the thousands of anime it's better than most. Against anime that are remembered not so much. Average isn't worth watching.

When I rate something 7/10 it just means it was worth finishing, but probably not rewatching. 5 and 6 would be worth wild if I didn't have so many options.

Of course it is better than most. Re:C features an original story that wasn't shown anywhere else. It has good enough visuals and great sound. The plot isn't perfect but it's quite intriguing. TROYCA goes beyond in some areas and does not strictly follow the usual tropes. Honestly, I did not expect that the whole series will be Altair's stratagem to make happen what she wants to happen and only at the end, with Magane's power and Souta's knowledge about Setsuna they were able to persuade Military Princess to change her intentions for the world.

This anime gives the similar vibes as Aldnoah.Zero and the characters feels bland and uninspiring. I think its only worth a 5-6 and nothing more.

I'm kinda disappointed with how it was resolved. Altair took pseudo/real Shimazaki and left for a world she created. That doesn't sit well with me. The powers of a god shouldn't be left with someone so...human. An ugly human at that. And I dont mean ugly in terms of appearances, I meant ugly as a character, with all her grudges and selfishness among other flaws. She should have been removed somehow.
Other than that I was fine with the ending. Magane and Meteora were left behind presumably, but I think Meterora enjoys it and Magane will probably thrive in that world so it's fine.

The last few episodes gave me a strong impression.

And I never found Meteora cute or anything but I admit, seeing her on casual clothes on that last second totally changed my opinion.

I'm already chilling and I like to write long replies. Seeing as you give it a 7, it must be hard for you to see me giving a 5. Do you need some tissues before you start crying?

The reasons I think its only worth an average is because the plot wasn't that interesting and too many main characters where it seems to loses who is the main character.

It was a lousy follow-up finale as I expected. 1/5... it wasn't even interesting.

Anime overall: disappointing.
3/10

The first few episodes were good... but then from mid season1 through mid season2, pure filler. This anime should have been 12-13 episodes only.

Was there anything good? Yes. Altair, the action, the music... this could have been great if it had been more psychological about Setsuna's bullying (conveyed through Altair).

The lesson here is that TROYCA does not make good anime. This anime had the same problems that Aldnoah.Zero had... "wasted potential".

The plot holes in the series are several:

-How works the acceptation rules? Altair receives benefits from this, but why not the other creations?
-Why let it go Magane, a dangerous creation? Also...
-Why two creations lives in the Earth? The plot in the series turns on the world colission (creations and real world), and the existance of the creations in the real life is a danger because this detail... This makes that stop Altair for colission a pointless point.
-No, Met doesn't turns in human for loses her powers. Met keeps being a creation because her origin.

-No, Met doesn't turns in human for loses her powers. Met keeps being a creation because her origin.

-The other creations benefit too, Meteora got to spawn Sirius, Erina and Vogelchevalier thanks to that. Their secret weapon is also a product of acceptance. Selesia's infinite gate attack is also designed by Matsubara specifically to use against Altair. Alice's lance blasted through Altair defense thanks to acceptance.
-The relevant characters have nothing to do with Magane, other than Souta and Meteora, for several months now. She's a problem for the law enforcement to deal with. So the rest don't talk about her while those two do.
-Altair's collision allows their universe's logic to apply in the real world, when Altair is gone the real worlds laws govern once again, and the fictional worlds lose influence to allow Meteora's magic to work.
-The creations are primarily humans with powers added on, that's why they function in the real world in the first place, they are not powers with a personality attached.

There's nothing massively off putting about this show and I goes as far to say it's doing something with the medium that a few other shows have toyed with. That alone makes me wanna give praise for it's ingenuity, creativity, and ambition. It's not a perfect so mind you but it's probably one of the better ones in recent memory.

8/10

For all it's imperfections and shortcomings it moves the bar up all while putting an entertaining an unique spin on an existing concept. I could of loved it more if things were different, but I love it as it is.

So the finale served more as an epilogue after the final battle and Altair's farewell. Very expected imo as everyone says their goodbyes. Hell, Souta even got slightly emotional. Oh and Yuya is better now and his friendship with Shou seems much better now.

Honestly, I think the finale is fine but underwhelming. Very lighthearted obviously although I didn't find the comedy entertaining much (always felt the humor of this show was pretty dry).

Going through the gate, I gave each character a different farewell.

To Kanoya, a salute.

To Shou and Yuuya, two thumbs up.

To Hikayu, a gentle wave goodbye.

To Blitz and Erina, a respectful bow.

And For those we lost: Selestia, Aliceteria, and Mamika, I joined the toast between Matsubara and Takarada.

I was hoping Meteora would stay, and I love that she's creating now too, probably my favorite Roll Credits moment of all time.

As for Magane... well we saw her at an airport right? She's probably off in some remote part of the world by now. Let's just hope she keeps out of trouble.

I love this anime to pieces! As a writer (Read: Creator) myself, this story feels like it was designed specifically for me, the depth to which I identify with everything and everyone in this story can not be accurately described, and I loved every single second of it!

To Rei Hiroe and everyone involved in the making of this series: Seriously - thank you for bringing this story into existence.

I had high hopes for this series but quickly it became clear it was just a collection of tropes, familiar themes and shallow ...really a sad mis use of an interesting idea. the main young boy figure was particularly shallow and empty, he was the cause of it all yet never really took responsiblity. not at all what it might have been. Been a pretty poor season aside from Made in Abyss and Elite Classroom.

While latter mid of season was pretty meta experience, last three episodes were in sort of classical spirit. Action pact battle full of finishing moves (named so ridiculously it was parody on anime genre itself), saving a world full of feels and then epilog episode to say goodbye. But it was finished start of serie started. Everything went in full circle, like they said and end at the beginning. Sort of meta on square. I like it. I really like it. I feel like going to back to creating things. Will you?

I was so in love with this show at the start. I had it in my mind at a 9, but the latter half and a couple of asspulls really hurt the show. It also sucks they kind of forgot about Magane. I really feel the writers kind of didn't know what to do after episode 13. Such passion and heart was put into this series to end up with just an okay ending. I'm very disappointed. Not an awful show, but not a great one either .It's gets a 7.
I had to change this because some loser couldn't make an actual argument. So....yeah I hope you guys like the new sig.

About the only thing I'll remember about this show months from now is the irony in the premise and how an original anime centered around writers and how to craft a story that resonates with the viewer really fails to do even that much in the real world.

This was average at best, with obvious turn of events at most corners. Not terrible, not great.

I do love me an entire episode as an epilogue - feels like a proper farewell. The only thing perhaps missing is a few seconds of showing what's Magane up to.

Now yea, the info dumps were pretty much but not too overbearing. Would've been nice if they were replaced with more character interactions regarding the worlds they each came from and how they contrast with this one and that of the others. Initially that's what I expected more as well but they kinda ditched most of that in favor of focusing more on the authors' side, where I assume most people(myself included) were more interesting on the characters & their worlds.

But a solid overall show and once again props for a very conclusive ending.

Nice epilogue after the decent final part of the finale the episode before.

4/5

A few nice ideas, shaky build, badly/weirdly told.
Did the person who wrote this have no consideration for the format in wich it was to be told? Or was he not in the confidence that this would be a full-length series? The ~26eps format should be mastered by now in 2017 but when you consider recent original series like this one or the Witches Academia, you start doubting it.
I said:
So shaky and fragile you have to accept it all without questioning.Just like the dumb in-universe audience.

The scarse characters/authors interactions were a nice touch, the discourse about the beauty of fiction creation behind the series was appreciable even if they were very light. But the construction to support them was lacking.
Drawings, animation and music (apart from weirdly chosen song placements) decent for its time and category.

4.5+/10 An ode to the industrial aspect of fictions rather than to fictions writing itself (here, heroes gain power through popularity, nothing to do with the author(s original intent)
Not 4 because they tried, but I regret not giving a 7 to an original full-length show.

Characters becoming real? Good try, but you're coming years too late with what looks like a prototype.

What about Magane I think they forgot about her, I guess she decided to stay in the real world like Meteora but with different reasons of course. The finale was alright for me nothing emotional and also Meteora and Sota deciding to be writers was alright in a way but nothing cool. I loved the bad girl or villain Altair because she was strong until the end, they couldn't defeat her in combat but was defeated by her emotions for Shimazaki.

Story was fine and animation on point but characters sometimes irritated me so overall its a 7 for me, since I doubt there will be season 2.

to sum it up

the only one who stays are Magane and Meteora, but Meteora is the only one losing her magical power, I don't know about Magane (she could be a main villain in 2nd season, if there's one).

Sota cheated Setsuna's death, it's the real Setsuna who appeared that time, because of Magane power of lies. and now she live in another dimension/world which Altair created. (this could also be a 2nd season potential).

oh boy
i marathoned all 22 episodes in one go because my friend really love and recommended this show to me..
the first half of the show got me really interested in this... i love how the creation struggle and develop their personality on those episode.. i especially love mamika's character development even to her death (even im a bit salty why she cant just tell that "altair is the one who killed her" instead of entrust her dying message to the magane)
but when we hit the second half, it was a mess, they bring new characters(the galge girl and yuya's rival) which is pretty late time to bring new characters with how little episodes left, imo it could be a bit more interesting if they already there from the start..
imho, the critical problem of re:creators is they had too many characters but only a few of them had a good character development
The protagonist is useless, i mean not because he doesnt really do anything useful until the end. but for the fact that you dont even need him in the story in the first place. Those creator could findout Altair origin by them self and they could trace what happen to setsuna(altair creator) by themself like how horror/mystery movies protagonist deducethe origin and motive of the ghost or something..
This show is interesting at first, but became trainwreck later on

rate 5/10

would give it 7/10 just for meteora smile, those are precious smile that worth protecting..

Can't say I enjoyed it that much. All the characters felt rather bland and all just far too accepting of everything.

Magene was the most interesting character and I guess they forgot about her anyway.

while I quite like the concept I feel the execution was not great and it was rather dull as a whole.

Perhaps I am just bored by anime that do more talk that action, but eh.
