R.I.P feels. If anyone wants to visit them, they're buried out back.

But seriously, very emotional season, at least for me. That whole Hiyori forgetting Yato arc came damn near close to giving me an existential crisis (for personal reasons) so the feels ran deep there. And the final episode was rather bittersweet and touching in a lot of ways.

Overall I loved this season even more than the first. Here's to hoping for a season three so I don't need to find a translation of the manga that's actually readable

I don't know why you say that. The Norawgami team did a great job and now fast-moon is doing it very well too. The chapters are readable and they even add translation notes and short explanations on Shinto mythology. It's all on kissmanga.

3rd season pls

Glad Yato finally released "Hiiro" so she'll finally stop popping up randomly trying to drag him back to the past. Although I can't help feeling a little sympathetic, since those flashbacks show they've been together for so long

One of the few shows that makes me laugh through tears, 10/10

I cam back and watched the first and second seasons again, and I appreciate them so much more. Still a 7/10 for season 1, but season 2 gets a WHOOPIN 8/10!! Cause he got dat sweet sweet shrine baybeh! lol

Pretty decent ending I must say, even though I found this season less good as the first one with it being also slower, but in general it was still pretty interesting and quite good. While the story isn't over yet as far as this goes, so I do wonder if we'll see a third season!

All in all a pretty solid season though!

Finally got to finish the second Arc and the second season of anime.

Great ride again although I am sure that I would enjoy this anime even more if I knew Japanese religion better... sadly I don't and only few concepts are familiar to me.

It's still really good anime even without it.

But EBISU! WHY!? ... who would have though that I would seriously care about this emotionless dude in suit who originally was hinted as a bad guy. (he had those masks after all and in OP he was fighting Yato)

In any case... I was looking forward to the next season at least few minutes ago as right now I also finished the ending scene.

I was pretty hyped for Yato's father but... this guy is Yato father... Really?

Ignoring the fact that his design is horrible (high school bishonen) then in earlier episodes even if he was a perfect actor, the so hyped up Yato's father lowered himself to such silly act like going on dates with high schoolers, and get horny for Hiyori??

Common, any good character even if he can put on a perfect act, change appearance, etc, should have enough pride to not lower themselves to such existence!

In any case all my hype died out in that last scene and I am not sure whatever I am still looking forward to the next season if this kind of existence is going to be focus of it.

Yato's Father is only possessing that high school boy (Fujisaki) to approach Yato through Hiyori, who he believes is corrupting his son. He's been changing bodies for a long time, so I don't see why it's so weird that he would go for a young, athletic body this time. He might not come off as very intimidating now because you've only seen him "acting", but believe me, he can be truly scary.

Other than that, as you have pointed out, Father is not the typical super bad villain who's too good for everyone and who only attacks people by killing them. He's more of a manipulative piece of trash (and if he has to do some killing, he will do it ofc). He doesn't care about Hiyori, nor was he aroused by her. He kissed her to get her to forget about Yato because he thinks she's getting in the way of his Yaboku (and to troll his son because he's trashy like that).

^ Lmao I can see why everyone calls him "trash dad" now.

This Ebisu arc is greatness! Ebisu was a really likeable character, too bad he died. Hopefully this reincarnation of him wouldn't go down the same path as the previous one.

Beside Ebisu, Kazuma really stood out too. His loyalty to Bishamon brings tears to my eyes. He is also unselfish, willing to teach Yukine how to use his powers. Speaking of Yukine, he has grown a hell lot since the beginning of the first season, though still unreliable, he is trying to be better for Yato's sake. Yuki Kaji is annoying on him though, but I can live with it.

The story and world building have gotten really delicious in this season. We're introduced to the God realm, ayakashi, and the underworld, and they were all interesting, imo. Can't wait to find out more about those, especially the underworld, and Izanami, I feel so bad for her to be left alone down there. Where is Izanagi and why did the lore state that they abandoned Ebisu? Hopefully these questions get answered someday.

The opening song is abso-fucking-lutely amazing! The ED is alright.

Reading these discussion threads, I come to realize that this was not a good adaptation from Bones, which is my main grip for the series throughout the course. The pacing for one, was way too fast. It was always "things happening" and "more things happen", and they skipped over the "whys and hows". Not only that, based on what I heard, they apparently changed things up and skipped some important plot points/foreshadowings. Not too much of a big deal since I am gonna read the manga soon, but it sucks to not have a good adaptation. The animation is also lacking in some places, coming from Bones that's pretty disappointing, though not my main concern.

P.S. The last scene of this episode was beautiful. Fujisaki with Nora behind him, strolling down the street with his friend, along with all the ayakashi who are invisible to the humans. It certainly does strike fears as to what he can possibly do to the people.

Same here.

I'm probably going against popular opinion saying that I was a bit dissapointed in the second half, especially after all the "Ebisu arc" hype. Too much action and not enough character for me. Yes it was emotional, but i have seen emotional done much better. I actually also missed the slapstick. Without its reliance on strong character and its combination of serious themes and comedy, Noragami is just another dime a dozen anime for me. Finally, this season left a lot of loose ends, which would have been less of a problem if they'd done more than barely scratching the surface. As it stand now, things like Kugaha's "return" and Yato's father seducing Hiyori, seem pointless to have been introduced this season.

It's a bit of a shame since I really liked the first season, got really excited for the second, and thoroughly enjoyed the Bishamonten arc. I even watched it all when it aired, then put it on hold after episode nine, since I just couldn't be bothered when I got back from vacation. The whole Ebisu arc just didn't had me hooked as much.

7/10 Overall

Didn't like it as much as the first season. The drama is pretty good in the first arc but not as food as the first seasons, and Bishamon isn't that interesting of a character. The action is weak, just like the first season and I didn't feel that Yukine's character development was handled as well in this season either. The phantoms and Nora were expanded upon but not in a way that I liked, that's not really a criticism against the show though. Overall, I liked the first arc but gradually lost interest throughout.

I really enjoyed this season more than the first!

What I appreciated the most was getting to know Yato more and seeing him evolve already so much since the start to the point now where he gives up on Nora for good. My favorite out of the batch was probably the episode when Hiyori built him that mini shrine as it was one of the most touching scenes I've seen in an anime(fine I cried a little).

This series isn't absolutely perfect by any means but it keeps me watching and wanting to see what happens next.

Yato's dad being inside of that kid was an insane plot twist and my reaction was just hilarious. To even think what he might pull with getting rid of Hiyori is pretty frightening. It really bums me out sometimes that she hasn't evolved into much of a fighter when the first few episodes gave that idea so much hope.

Bishamon arc was great. Ebisu arc was also great. Very deceptive, in that I immediately thought he was going to be the villain of the arc, but instead he was a great, selfless person. It was tough watching him die, regardless of the reincarnation. I could only imagine what Yato was going through there, as well.

Yato finally ending his relationship with Nora is a good thing. He has healthy, loving people in his life, and he knows this. Nora is not a healthy person. Her love is toxic and smothering. It's sad...because that's all she knows. She was obviously abused(by father, maybe?), thus it's the only way she knows how to love. So, I do feel slightly bad for her, but Yato made the right decision for himself.
Agreed. Yet no doubt, Hiiro is going to come back with a vengeance :/

Also wondering how people are comparing S1 with S2. There are a couple of criteria I could agree with, but if it's content then I can't. As the first season you have to get all the explanations and introductions out of the way. I loved getting as much action and characterization out of that as we did. In fact, S2 lacked in characterization. There was a lot happening quickly, and yet it sounds like much from the manga was skimmed. I kinda felt like something was missing from this season. Still hoping for a season 3, and I defs need some more Hiyorin in my life!!

All in all, Noragami delivered what I love about it so much: family-like bonds, emotion, intense battles, and we learned more about the world of the Gods. Thirteen episodes with a lot of ground to cover can be hard to budget (benefit of the doubt). Plus, with that killer OST, how can you go wrong?

I don't know, the episode felt bad for a finale, but then again it actually left a way to S3. Not just that but when you thought that this title can't pull a really unexpected twist it turns out the guy who NTR'd Hiyori was Father? That really does make sense, although "Yato's father kissed Hiyori" sound so weird. That could actually be one of the best cliffhangers endings ever, lol.

1. Characters: 1 | Nothing really changed from S1 in this department, we only got more characters(none of which worse than before).
2. Atmosphere: +1 | It didn't lack much compared to S1 whenever there wasn't action going on.
3. OST: +1 | Great OP, better than S1's, the ED was good as well but it throwing us back to the feeling of S1 more than trying to be in tone wiith the current story made it feel kind of disjointed. I won't complain either way.
4. Animation: +1 | I can't say for sure that the quality went down compared to S1 but I can't really call it bad either.
5. Background story: +0.5 | Plenty of stuff got thrown in, but not much of them got the needed development. Bishamon's past was the only part which left me satisfied.
6. Storyline: +0.5 | This time we actually got plotlines, two at that, but once again I was really satisfied only by Bishamon's. It's not like the Ebisu plot wasn't good or I didn't like it, it's more like it didn't get more development it needed. At the end it only feels as a buildup to what's to follow.
7. Ending: 0.5 | The ending was borderline anticlimactic, was it not for the cliffhanger at the end.
8. Drama: +0.5 | The drama was thrown in here, most of it being hints of drama really, and, don't get me wrong, while those hints had potential, they once again ended up underdevelope, mostly because the Ebisu plotline got rushed. Bishamon's part gets the recognition here as well.
9. Overall affect: +1 | In the end I liked this season, despite the certaing things I mentioned before, and I enjoyed it very much at that. After all it's a sequel to one of my favorite stories, and I'd really love to see more.
10. Bonus score: +1 | Episode 12, about everything about it was so good that it deserved this season additional score for me.
Overall score: 8/10. Tell me there will be another season.

When I see kid Ebisu with Yato, I had this warmth + sad feeling. They're still friend, which Yato failed to protect what Ebisu is determined to do. They can make a great duo. Ebisu's death is like the most wtf thing ever, was expecting dramatic death, was more like "F you and your feelings"

I wouldn't have had a problem with Hiyori's first kiss being her senpai since if you think about it in the far future, Hiyori's going to have to part ways with the Yato Club and it'll just be an impossible love Hiyori feels for Yato. I was initially hoping for Yato to find out about the kiss, then Hiyori tries to explain herself but Yato says he doesn't mind as long as she's happy scene, but it just had to be the "father" person.

I actually think that Yato doesn't look at Hiyori romantically since what Yato wants is for Hiyori to be happy. Well the blushing can be seen as happiness or embarrassment which is why it doesn't necessarily mean Yato is romantically inlove with her. Can't wait for S3 announcement

At first I thought so what if Gods die, they get reincarnated anyway and Ebisu's done it many times already. But a god dying is almost the same as when people die. They get reincarnated as a kid and they forgot everything about their past life. The only thing that connects them is that their appearance never change. Poor Ebisu who would've thought he was just a scapegoat. And that dude who kissed Hiyori was Yato and Nora's father? He most probably changed his appearance but damn small world huh? Well Yato's severed his ties with Nora, it's time to kill his "father".

Season 3 please.

I think something is gonna happen later on and she can somehow stay with him. I dont want those ultra sad goodbyes that end with a slightly happy smile type shit saying suttin like "its been fun but it ends here"

consdering she's the only half phantom we've seen so far, she might be special in a way or maybe she dies and Yato finds her spirit and makes her into his Regalia.

Finished this whole series wanting more.
Definitely going to read the manga in the near future.

Was that guy in the post credit scene really his father? Isn't he way too young? Don't tell me he's a god too that reincarnated or something.
Also, as toxic as Nora was, I really am a bit sad that he released her. I always thought she had SOME good in her. She was an interesting character.
Also, I'm hoping for Yato and Hiyori to get together. If Yato were to cut his ties with Hiyori as an ending, I think I'd create the next Niagara Falls.

With yukine by his side he has someone who's accepting the real essence of himself. That becomes clear towards the end when he says, that the only thing he can do is killing people and yukine answers to him that he doesn't think he should do anything different.

Overall a conclusion is somewhat given and one can simply move on by taking this ending.
