Okay, this series has won me over. I love it. Jonathan must still be alive because he will have an heir. And then his heir will have an heir - and he will be the next protagonist (I think). Dio is such a classic villain.

HOLY SHIT! Would you look at that!? A shonen protagonist who actually thinks ahead to prepare everything, and here i thought he was confronting Dio before even contacting the police. My respect for you just went over 9000! Too bad all of it went to hell pretty soon after.

pretty good episode. though the moment when they were falling from the roof made me LOL! I mean, just how tall is their mansion, it didn't look to be more than 3 stories from outside but somehow they still had enough time to rant to each other! XD

also, didn't you just want to be rich Dio? what's with the world domination schtick you just picked up!? Be consistent!
and finally it looks like the prologue portion is over. i am now officially hyped!

P.S.
Dio screaming anything is hilarious! JoJooooooooooo!

You know it's true bromance when Speedwagon followed Jojo back to his mansion and put Dio on blast like, "motherfucker, get away from mah boi."

Man, Daddy George Joestar sacrificed everything, he's the daddy cinnamon roll that spawned the manly cinnamon roll, Jonathan Joestar. He still treated Dario Brando nicely even though he stole his ring.

Gotta love Speedwagon making all the ringside comments while everyone else gets massacred.

The English subs read, "Lad, let me suck you dry" when that vampire/zombie facepalmed Speedwagon.

That flashback after getting kicked in the head... Danny </3 You will always be alive in our hearts, except Dio's. He has no heart.

Dio's screech after being stabbed though. That's the kind of fabulous drag queen screech you'd expect from him.

I hope Dio is really dead now. I can't stand the asshole, though I'm having a feeling that he is still alive. I mean he turned himself into a vampire, he can't die that easily.

RIP Mr. Joestar. You were a great man. He knew that Dio's father wasn't his savior, but he was robbing them, but he still helped Dio and gave his father the ring. What the hell.

Not a lot of things seemed to connect together.
They could pull a convincing scene out of this mess. They didn't try.

And still, Bill will live on.
He will befriend the next inhabitants of the earth, beings of light who revere him as a god.
And Bill will outlive them all... for millions and millions of years...exploring, learning, living,
until the earth is swallowed beneath his feet.
Until the sun is long since gone.
Until time loses all meaning and the moment comes that he knows only the positions of the stars
and sees them whether his eyes are closed or open.
Until he forgets his name and the place where he'd once come from.
He lives and he lives until all of the lights go out.

The first two episodes were pretty amazing, now this episode wasn't good imo.
This episode was a mess, the fight was so ridiculous/stupid, so many flaws and plot holes.
Bad Episode.

Now it's acting how a shounen would do in this kind of scenes, everybody screams, the villain wastes some time letting the MC get himself together and then they get out of it without any difficulty.

First two episodes were decent, they managed to make a mess out of it.
Of course it is, it's one of the OG shounens lol(the manga was made in the 80's)

i'm actually surprised not only did jojo manage to find the truth, but confront dio about it and expose him.
"You want to blame your childhood? No, you've been evil since the day you were born!"
damn. dio isn't one to mess with. i'm actually sort of mad he somehow survived, he's such a terrible person.
i like the person who voice acted his "wrry!"s, though. very well done and convincing, shown that he's totally a different creature.

best ep so far.

Jojo's father is dead and his mansion is burned to the ground now he's free. "No strings attached".

Woah, so Dio, being cornered, decided to trade his humanity and become a monster by using the mask?

I loved the moment he walked on the wall, and the scene in which JoJo saved himself from falling to the flames.

This ep is absolutely amazing! It went from 0 to 100 reaaaal quick and it hits you hard like a bus. Damn, George Joestar have raised such a gentleman of a son, he himself being one. His kindness far surpasses others, even after Dio stabbed that knife on George's back, he still told Jojo to not hate Dio. A true man, a gentleman, Jonathan sure will continue the legacy of the Joestar family, no matter how many asshole vampires come to block his way.

Lol, those three dots on Dio’s ear are birthmarks? I always thought they were piercings for earrings lmfao.

Another question — how could Speedwagon have been in the presence of all those police officers? Albeit somewhat of a gentleman, isn’t he also a murderous crook (as seen in the last episode)? Isn’t he a criminal?

So… George really jumped in front of the knife to protect JoJo? Huh. It surprised me at first and I had to look up the summary to see if that was really the case. Even though JoJo even said “I could have dodged the knife but you took it in my stead”… it’s just… HOW was George quick enough to teleport from five feet away from JoJo (as he was walking back to his bedroom) to standing in front of JoJo (and facing him letting the knife go into his back)? Very outlandish.

… although that’s some pretty amusing irony. George was literally stabbed in the back by his own (adopted) son.

And then JOJO transported after being speared in the deltoid. Vampire Dio turned his back to JoJo and all of the sudden JoJo disappeared and Dio inquired if he was hiding. What is this shiiiii.

AND WHY DID THE FIRE at the end TURN PURPLE!?!

AND WHY WERE JOJO AND DIO HAVING MINUTE LONG CONVERSATIONS IN MIDAIR AS THEY WERE ENDLESSLY FALLING THROUGH THE MANSION!?!

And WHY did Speedwagon grip JoJo at the end of the episode as if they were lifelong friends? They literally just met lol. Although that might be nit-picking.

Man, the more questions I have to ask the more I realize that — as of these first three episodes — this isn’t a very good or cleverly written series. Of course, it’s based off of the manga. So maybe… the pacing is the problem? But personally, what’s bugged me the most is the lame, cliche, uninteresting dialogue. And I’m irked that Speedwagon felt the need to narrate everything that happened onscreen before the viewer. (Wittem bigass eyebrows.)

Almost makes me think I’m watching a shonen despite it being a seinen.

❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙❧☙

At the very least, I’m glad that George was finally able to witness the deceit of Dio. It was extremely satisfying watching the evil Dio’s initial plans backfire. His years of putting up a facade blew up in his face as his scheme was unravelled in front of the eavesdropping step-father. I knew George was going to die, and I was preparing myself for a heart-wrenching, hopeless death — but I can take great satisfaction in this outcome. JoJo and his father’s bond was at an all-time high and George died aware of Dio’s true evil nature. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the best possible outcome compared to what I was expecting.

Then again, JoJo’s childhood home burning up in flames conflicts this as another major downer. As JoJo said, he lost his father, his home, Dio truly took everything. ;/

Damn Dio transformed himself into a vampire. Hopefully he'll find a way to live in daylight otherwise it's doodoo. Anyway, some scenes were overdramatic but the rest was GOOD. I'm liking and disliking Joe's character at the same time AND SPEEDWAGON IS WAIFU MATERIAL.

The episode and the fight that happened throughout was actually pretty good. RIP Sir/Papa Joestar, you shall be missed as Dio kills him as a fully-fledged vampire. Dio's screams of pain were kinda hilarious, don't ya think? And Speedwagon, you may call him one of the best waifus ever, but dear hamon he is also BEST COMMENTATOR.

Anyways shit's good so far and we're only halfway into the story arc, I'm excited for more.

Hey I must admit this is pretty good, I haven't watched this for a long while since I last dropped episode 2, came back because I had nothing to watch, and I wanted to be up to date about this.

I really like the Katakana writings for the action it has appeared on the screen, and the voice acting for Dio.
