She basically is a character who has no façade to speak of when she's around the main character. She's brutally honest, flawed, and swats away bullshit. I know everyone keeps appearances in some way. I love getting past that when I get to know people. I like seeing who they really are and I want to see more of that as well when I watch anime. Well that's a story for another day really. All I can say is that it would take more than your standard 12 episodes to develop characters in that way, for most anime. And most anime don't have that luxury. Especially with the different types and executions of their stories. I highly recommend it. It's one of my favorite slice of life shows. Exactly man. It would be hard to pull off something like that in 12 episodes. One of the few ways I can see going around that limitation is having the main cast interact with each other in an isolated envorinment without any outside interferences. Of course, that's also something that's pretty different from most of what we get so it would be pretty difficult to convince a company that it would even sell. |

| Make the genre more self-sufficent. As it is, too many anime are extreme promotional materials for Light Novels, Visual Novels, and manga. This leads to massive problems whenever a series catches up or overtakes the source material. Speaking of which, stop trying to force every anime to be an exact copy of the manga/LN. Let there be SOME creative freedom based on interpretation. I'm not saying scrap half the source, throw in excess pointless characters, and run off into it's own madness. That's the wrong type of extreme. But small changes will encourage more investment into both the anime and the source material, because people will be curious where it diverged and where it stayed the same. |

This is the main reason why I have deterred myself away from the anime scene lately. At least 80% of the anime series each season I personally feel like are catering to fan service. I've only watched 1-3 series each season for the past few years because of this change. Obviously everyone has different opinions regarding their own tastes in series, but in my opinion, I would prefer not to have panty shots, up-skirts, etc. taking up my entire screen. |

| I still find it kind of funny how ecchi and fanservice are still the most hated things on these kind of threads. When,at least from my observation the last...maybe 2-3 years have waaay less pure ecchi shows, than 2000's and 2010-2012 anime. Like what ecchi shows has 2016 had besides HxH and the upcoming Keijo! ? (and honestly all those other magic battle school shows are so tame. Those mostly suck because they are generic as hell, and not because they have ecchi.) but continueing my shitty opinion , If I could change something, I'd say get rid of all those mobile game adaptations and "multimedia idol projects" 90% of them just straight up suck. Love Live is pretty much the only good one. Most of the time its better to adapt anime from manga, LN and some VNs. Games rarely work. Also, stop making original mecha anime. Anime studios still seem to try to pander to old mecha fans. Oh yeah, and I'm fine with there being more female oriented shows, but please make something other than boy idols and sports. |
