Approaching the end of a great arc. It definitely had its flaws but man it was still enjoyable and so tragic :(
Glad to see powerups for Wendy, Gray and Gajeel, but especially for Lucy!!! It felt overdue but well worth the wait.

R.I.P Igneel ;_; I think that his death was better in the manga, but the scene was powerful nonetheless.

Also, R.I.P Mard Geer, nobody except me will care for you, but you were one of the coolest villains from FT, you will be remembered.

It must be very sad to meet your father after a long time and then loose him for good.

It really resembled what happened to Gray.

So this arc is going to end next week, it was really enjoyable and more serious arc than usual.
Anyway can someone tell me if the upcoming arcs are as good as this one or at least worth watching?

They'll adapt Fairy Tail Zero, which is a prequel to Fairy Tail, it's about Mavis and how she met the people who will help her found Fairy Tail, it's quite interesting. After that they might add some fillers so that the anime doesn't get caught up with the manga.

Well, Igneel, you'll remain in our hearts. R.I.P.

Jeez, how many times do they need to show us that the dragons are taking out the towers?

Not sure why they expect me to feel anything from Igneel's so called death. Not like I have any attachment to a character that finally made a appearance after all this time only to die 3 or so episodes after. They even did the typical throw a bunch of random flashbacks to make us try to care more like they did with whats her name.

Hope this arc hurries up, getting a bit tired of this.

Lol at them just letting Zeref walk off, they didn't even try anything.

You're supposed to feel bad for Natsu... well at least that's the way I felt. I mean he wanted for so long to meet again with Igneel, and to see him go like that... really sad.

I love how despite there being severed limbs and large portions of bodies being ripped out there wasn't a single drop of blood

But there was! When Acnologia first brought down Igneel and began to punch him in the face.

Anyways, stupid end. Igneel was strong enough to bring down Acnologia at the start, and there are four other dragons out there to help him. And Grandine could probably even heal that.

I also don't get the Zeref <-> Acnologia thing. Why don't those two just duke it out? No, somehow puny humans who can't even scratch them are more important then the age old rival, or whatever they are.

Also: While it does seem likely, we don't know exactly if Igneel is really dead. Until one of the dragons confirms it everythings open, and even then they could still lie. I mean, String and Rogue thought they had killed their dragons, and they all hid for14 years.

Well finally the arc has begun to end. It's been such a long time, and I felt that the arc had a very slow plot build up. Wish they could make animations a LOT better, especially the fight between the dragons Igneel and Acnologia. Overall, it was okay, and the last part where Igneel passes away was very sad :(

That was a nice conclusion to the arc, quality and enjoyment wise, the episode was definitely sad. Meeting him after waiting that long just to have him die that quickly is still terrible. Next time is the end of the arc and after that we get FT Zero which I doubt will last that long unless they add stuff to it, either way I hope for ANYTHING that isnt like the shitty eclipse celestial spirits arc.

First half was nothing 2nd half was something I knew would happen but was hoping wouldn't. So what exactly is the whole plot of this anime now that Natsu has accomplished what he wanted to do since ep 1? So who elses dad is going to die this arc? Watch out Macao you could be next!

Meeting Igneel was Nasu's goal, but the protagonist is Lucy and FT's story is the story of her life she is writing.

As for what now? Well a giant evil dragon did just cause what happened, so I guess just like Gray is fixated on END, Nasu will want to take down acnologia.

Wow, Igneel died. NOooooooooooooo, dammit. Poor Natsu when he finally found his father. Oh well, but it were a bit obvious from the opening since both Natsu and Gray shed a tear. And at both of the frames their fathers were shown.

But what's up with this censorship were no blood is seen at all is really unnecessary. It look more like he's paper or something that have been cut. I know it's supposed to be an anime for teenagers, but little blood won't hurt. -.-'

No because until this arc where all of a sudden random zombie dad comes out of the blue, Gray already was settled on the fact that his dad was dead.

Natsu had no reason to believe igneel was dead so he believed he'd find him someday. Key difference. A very key difference that shows how last minute Gray's sudden subplot was. Silver should have been Ultear's dad.

I hate to break it to you, but the manga author has stated in one of the volume afterwords that he created Silver as a character related to Gray - and meant to fight Gray - from the very beginning. So no, it wasn't a last minute plot. It was intended from the start.

Also, I think that believing your dad is dead and suddenly seeing him alive and kicking (seemingly) just to lose him again will probably have some effect on you too.

Then he did a very shitty job introducing him. Sorry but the whole silver plotline was nothing but nonsense and a stop gap measure to give Gray some relevance again since he was becoming as disconnected from the main plot as Erza.

Making silver to be Ultear's dad would have made sense because we actually HEARD thigns about him. Like how he abandoned Ur for being weak. Ultear would have also been a solid motive for him to fight Gray. Since he inadvertently caused her to end up an old lady for the rest of her life. It would have flowed and fit in so much better.

With this there was never really any tension once he revealed himself as Gray's dad. You could tell from a mile away he wasn't fighting to kill for sure. It was forced, sloppy and lazy. All to give him a powerup and a last minute lifeline connection to the main plot via his retarded vendetta against END.

Why would Silver be Ultear's dad?
Silver-Gray there's a connection in colors and relevant status
Ultear herself is considered dead and has no use to the plot/is a secondary character.

Try thinking before you post instead of letting your bias get in the way.

The only retarded vendetta one has over the other is Natsu's forced sloppy mess with Acnologia, when Igneel never told him to avenge him but to live life. Natsu is just fixated in being a stupid fool and the whole was to give him relevancy anyway.
Funny how a single user's *cough dark cough*'s claims above can contradict his own claims.

Gray's vendetta against END is genuine and reasonable at best.

Exactly not to mention it was damn obvious that the even color Gray is very much related to Silver, hence why Gray's dad was named Silver.

I didn't find the episode all that sad tbh. Igneel's death was rushed, and it seemed quite forced to bring the feels in as it didn't feel natural. Meh, enjoyed Natsu's anguish tho

Yeah, because the dragons knew they would survive the onslaught of Acnologia? So aside from going into the future, they have the ability to foresee the future?

Jesus! Dat 1st half was a drag. Recap and 5 minutes of dragons destroying Face when it took like 1 page in the manga. Thanks A-1.

Damn. Mard Geer went poof with just a snap.

Zeref trolling again.

Igneel: "When you've been asleep as long as I've been, shit happens." GOAT line of the episode.

Damn. When Igneel got blown up and the scene changed to Natsu with his mouth and eyes shaking, I knew it was going to be sad. Natsu's 1st time really experiencing loss.

RIP Igneel.

Although. The animation was poorly done and a little confusing on how Igneel got such a bad wound, which the wound itself looked a little bizarre. Kind of lessened the impact for me.

Damn why would they kill off Igneel when they only just reunited :| the whole point of Natsu's journey and pretty much this anime was to find Igneel... feels a bit pointless now that he's been killed off :/

They barely kill any characters in this anime, but why would they do it for this one :|

Quite a shame to be honest, but well it was a touching moment either way. Let's see what's next.
