| The animators did a GREAT job in setting up the "feel" for Impel Down. It is definitely much freakier than in the manga. I took the beasts in the manga as a total joke, lol, but they appear very scary here. From now on, it's going to be so exciting! And Boa, "Shut up, you idiots!" LOL. The "Kawaaaaiii" also got me laughing. Preview of the movie specials look interesting. Makes me want to watch the specials now. XD |

| Love the atmosphere the anime is presenting. Good stuff. Too much Buggy-related content though. Messed up the feeling a bit. Let's hope Toei is able to do this arc half as well as it was done in the manga. |

| Nothing really stood out during this episode that made me extra excited. No funny Boa moments, the elongated Buggy portion got boring pretty fast, and it just seemed to drag on. The high points was the talk between Garp and Ace, and also the part where Jimbei and Crocodile were brought up. Those were probably the only parts that got me excited. Seeing Hannyabal made me gasm though. Hahaha. Can't wait to see the rest of the Impel Down gang. |

| Don't get me wrong, huge One Piece fan here, but I voted only 3/5 for this episode. Although it does kind of serve as an introduction to Impel Down, it was kind of slow and I just really want to see the action going on already ! :D Seems like that's gonna happen starting next episode though, so can't wait ^^ |

| Mostly a built up episodes for this arc. Showing buggy's crew again. Also we get a quick glimpse of impel and that place looks like sheer hell in deed. Wonder how hancock and luffy are going to get by all the security. |

| At long last.. finally at Impel Down.. It was great to see the Buggy crew with Alvida again.. it seems he was captured and imprisoned also.. maybe a fortunate reuniting with Luffy in the next episode.. Also a short glimpse inside Impel Down.. and as expected it is a gruesome and definitely scary place.. And anyone notice the guards' uniforms were too similar to the Nazi uniforms? :-P |

| Why are you doing that for Luffy Boa? :c You're risking your life for nothing (please prove me wrong upcoming episodes!) :o That kind of love sure is special. I hope Luffy does/says something to Boa that will make her feel "loved" or "special". I mean you know she hates men but fell for one guy, the kind of girl who is faithful to the one she loves. I really like her, as well as Robin! :D On the other hand, if I could choose someone for Boa my choices would be Shanks, Ace, Zoro. Guys who don't say much but shows it when it really matters. I really liked 1:45~1:56 at the opening. It felt kinda sweet(??) ♥ (Sorry for replying to a super old discussion '09 I just started One Piece from episode 1) :) |

| Wow. That first scene was just beautiful to me. They are one cool family, Ace, Luffy, and Garp. The way he subverted expectations with that whole speech about how he wanted them to be marines and how Luffy never learns before saying how proud he is of Luffy and giving a jolly laugh, paired with Ace's smile made me tear up. Garp may be tough on these boys but he does love them and Ace knows it best it seems. To me I read that conversation as Garp saying despite the fact that they're destined to be enemies, no matter how different they are from each other, Garp is proud that Luffy is like he is: absolutely true to himself no matter what. For if Luffy listened to that tough love he gave him he wouldn't be Luffy. He's so proud of him for being such a strong man and doing what he believes in despite everything else. MY HEART! That scene was perfect, I wouldn't change a single thing about it. Meanwhile we see Ace has a rocky relationship with Dragon, whereas Luffy seemed to have not really thought about him. We know there is some love there, at least for Luffy as Dragon saved his life that one time. However, I did find the notion about Whitebeard taking on Ace as his son endearing. It really meant a lot to him, his love for Whitebeard makes sense now. It kinda reminds me of I find it awesome how we see Luffy going off on whims and following what he believes in and by doing so doing and creating such momenumenal, amazing and shocking things. We're really seeing a legend in the making, one day when he is the King of Pirates he'll really have deserved that title. Normally when you hear about these amazing figures and about their long list of achievements, that's all abstracted from the person, it's actually somewhat unthinkable and for me at least, I can't imagine the kind of person they are or what those great things they did actually were. For Luffy we can see every moment of his life and understand ever decision he makes, and it's cool because it's so believable and understandable. He's just one of those characters that you don't only know as a legend in the end but you understand why he's a legend. It would be cool if the One Piece universe continued from another persons perspective when Luffy's story is done and instead of this magical "Gol D Roger" figure being known by all, its "Monkey D Luffy" instead and we can not only know they had an impact on the world like nobody else but also what they did and why, first hand. So, in Impel Down currently we have Ace, and a former and present Warlord. If Luffy can start a prison break we can maybe have a team formed of Luffy with past enemies and new faces all brought together through circumstance. We also have Buggy here, and I honestly forget most things about him but now that we know, if we didn't already, that he has a dream to find "Captain John's treasure island" maybe that will add some context to him. He seems like a joke but he was on Rodgers crew and he's close with Shanks. He's quite a big figure in the world relatively even if his crew isn't well known, and I like how it foreshadowed his capture with his face in a newspaper during Amazon Lily! This arc is really shaping up to be something awesome. I was somewhat taken aback by how Boa did something so suspicious to say she will only come along if she can stop at Impel Down but it all makes sense now. She acted as if they could search her and as if all she wanted was a conversation with Ace. They have the defenses here to risk that and if it gets a Warlord on board in the upcoming war it's all worth it. Now, what the hell is Luffy’s plan... |
| Seeing how they treat their prisoners, calling Impel Down a manifestation of hell on earth wouldn't be an exaggeration at all. Luffy has less than two days to rescue Ace but just getting in there looks like it's way too difficult already... I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of old and new faces in there soon though! |

| Buggy's crew and Alvida make an appearance again! I don't know why, but I really want to see Buggy fight alongside with Luffy. It would be an interesting turn of events but not unbelievable. Buggy still has a really cool devil fruit! I hope to see him again! |
