About the various deaths in this episode, a little list and explanations of what I think of them and to clear some things up perhaps? Ayano and her friend’s brother death. I think those are the most important ones but they are at most mundane TBH. Mundane as in self explanatory paranormally.

| Funny thing is i went to the same school as this one guy that got struck by lightning. He lived though. bottosai-01 said: My question is why did they bother hiding in the first place? Like honestly what was the worst that could happen? They get a detention maybe? Whats more important avoiding a detention or saving the lives of your peers and everyone closely related to them? It was literally a life or death situation for everyone(frikin four people) in that room (cept the teacher) and not even one person thought about this? I know theres only 3 eps and they want to keep the suspense and mystery (which kinda died in the last ep) but do it in a way that doesn't make the main characters look like frikin idiots. I think it had more to do with keeping it a secret than anything else. They didnt want people to know about the plan. |

| i don't know if i've ever been so damn scared by an anime, or almost anything, ever...when the lightening strike hit the boy, the whole scene in old classroom three, all the other deaths - i think i literally jumped out of my skin about five times! the sound effects and the quality of them on this show is just phenomenal - try watching this episode in particular in the middle of the night, really loud, on headphones, with the lights off - you'll see what i mean!!! once again, best anime of the season!!! |

Maaaan who doesn't know hoe to use a tape player. How even. I finally caught up, and watched the past 7 eps this weekend and now I have to wait to hear the tape? Which'll probably just end up being that you have to kill the extra? Wwaaaah. |

As for why they hid, none of the Faculty body wants to admit to the curse (besides the ones directly involved like the teachers of Class 3) and they're freaked out enough about anything that might trigger further deaths that they might believe further investigation of the Another and the curse to be just provocation for further deaths (and considering two people died exactly as they were looking for the tape, I wouldn't blame them for thinking that way). It seems from this episode and the preview of next episode Kouichi and Mei are once again being blackmarked by most of the class (barring the two who are currently helping them investigate, since those two seem to be nice guys). As for the one who expressed disbelief at the lack of public attention to a curse that kills so many, do remember there's a few factors. They live in a small borderline rural town where authorities can far more easily withhold information from more "global coverage" (the town seems to gossip about it but they don't disclose it to non-locals), the deaths actually happen months apart (so far there's been only about 2 death per month, besides the 3 this time if the death from episode 8 happened only a week or so from the 2 at the end of 9), they have varying causes and for the most part none of them appear to be related (heart attack, delayed death from head trauma, car accidents), let alone the fact that a good number of them weren't even students of Class 3, just relatives. Is it just really incompetent of the press to not investigate about it further? Yeah. But Mystery/Horror stories don't tend to be THAT realistic, especially those that deal with deaths linked only by a curse. |

| Wow the deaths this week, being crushed by a bulldozer and that rock, THAT FREAKING ROCK; almost made me fall off my chair LOL Pretty nice episode and the bgm is amazing as always. I really hope both Tesshi and Mochizuki as well as Akazawa live through this, I really like those 3 DX So Sakaki found the all important tape but was ruined by Tesshi, lol never pull a tape like that >_>; The flashback was pretty interesting though, two deaths in a row and one of them lightning strike O_O maybe this is related to the current time since that girl who moved out and the other girl's brother were both killed (assuming she's dead) in a row Man I was actually hoping for some supernatural stuff on the previous victims coming back to life based on last week's preview. But that dream sequence was enough to scare the heck out of me, I gotta stop watching this anime at night .__.; |

| Man. We all got trolled yet again! I had my doubts about the tape. I had a feeling something was going to happen right when they got to the most important part... it almost seemed, for a moment, that the crane was going to crash into the recording room and take someone out. Just a thought, but since the tape was snagged right when it was playing the most important part, wouldn't that part be destroyed? At best, it would have stretched so it would be impossible to fix. | When I saw the car scene, I thought for sure they were going to die by a car crash, but after I saw the van pass by, I am reminded of my friend's essay "The reason the car went out of control was because of the slippery ground", didn't think there would be a "crack" though. |

Kouichi stop having those nightmares...They freak me out O_o Also, why??? the tape....We could have known everything :( I can't wait for the next episode, or to be more presice for the 3 final episodes! |
| This episode was quite cool. I liked a lot the part where they were hearing the tape, even if I knew for sure it would either 'end the episode' right before the interesting part started, or that something was going to happen. Died hit by lightning, that shit was freaking awesome. Then the girl feel from the mountain, the car was hit by a rock (am I the only one that wasn't startled by it?) and the bulldozer crushed that girl's brother. Amazing. As for what they did in the past... He told that he has done a sin. It must involve killing someone for sure, or at least something very similar to it. Whatever he's done, I don't know why he should make such a big deal out of it, if he killed/whatever'ed the "right" one. I'm still confused about who's the extra one... I still feel like it's Naoya, as if it's Mei or Kouichi would be so predictible it isn't even fun to think about it. Still, there is the mistery about how everyone feels like they've already met Kouichi in the past. It could be that he once lived there for a while then died somehow, now he's came back and everyone's memory of him got "reset" so he wouldn't be found out at the beginning, but Izumi is still able to remember scraps of info about him. |

| Matsunaga's "sin" might not be just as simple as "killing the Another." He might have "pushed random classmates" over the mountain cliffs, for all we know. After all, he doesn't have the recognizing-dead-people ability. The fact that he was stalling in the tape shows that he was out of it. He killed someone in order "to save everyone." He's just a middle schooler, and it's quite a great shock for a probably non-violent person. It's human tendency to babble or avert to other things before claiming one's fault. What he might have wanted to achieve by storytelling about their mountain trip also was defend himself from blame of everyone in his class and to the future students of third class who would have to choose among themselves whom would kill the Another. Because in order to stop the calamity, someone must stand up and carry a big and sinful burden. In a way, the memory alteration is a good thing. Just because one might be antipathic, doesn't mean he doesn't see more hideous monsters. |

| Few more deaths. Aya's (the girl with short hair is caalled Aya, right?) death wasn't a surprise. She had many death flags raised during the whole episode. Her friend's family came as bigger surprise. I thought it was going to be the girl, who will die but her brother works as well since she's in class 3. Cristu said: Why did the nurse die? She's not even related to the class. Her brother is in class 3. Family members are at risk as well, remember? Asfor Misaki in morgue it could be that she was going to say goodbey to her cousin Misaki Fujioka, who looked a lot like Mei but was more cheerful (as seen in OVA preview). I'm not 100% sure about this, but it's possible. |
| Hmm this was a good episode (but then again I've thought that every episode of this show has been good so far...) I liked the flashback to 15 years ago while Sakakibara and the group were listening to the tape, that was nicely done. I thought it was a bit tacky, though, how someone decides to come into the room JUST AS they are about to hear the important part. Sigh. I wrote a whole review for this episode on my blog ^.^ |

| Now I'm confused. So calamity works only in Yomiyama or not? Kouichi is having really creepy dreams and Yukari was the best. Short-haired girl acted weird as if she perceived her own death since we first saw her at the school entrance and I knew that she will be the next victim but I thought that that truck will hit her family's car so falling out of the road was surprising. And that stupid Naoya! Doesn't he know how to handle cassette tape?! |

| Those two drama club girls are really cute, especially the redhead, but personality-wise, the short-haired girl is my favorite in a whole class. I was so relieved when the short-haired girl, saved by Sakakibara in a glass incident, in episode 4 or 5, but why... oh why... such a nice girl like her need to die too... :( Thank god the redhead drama girl still alive, i hope she gets a more important role after this.. and yay the cutest boy in class (the nurse's brother), finally in the opening, but is that mean he'll die soon? NO!!!! |
