Ok, so we finally find out what Katsumi forgot to mention last episode in the tape:

When asking his peers about the person, no one knows or remembers. So according to the tape, to stop the calamity:

Pretty interesting conversation with Mei Misaki and Kouichi later in the episode where she explains her history and her mother(s)

Additionally, we find out that Mei Misaki's eye can see the "color of death" as given the reason why she wants to see the photo from 26 years ago of Misaki Yomiyama.

Strange ending.

I think this is the second episode where Teshigawara trolled the most important part. I still love him though, I was worried he was going to die but instead he might have killed someone.

Mei knowing the colour of death is also interesting. But like Kouichi said, even if you knew who the dead one is would you be willing to kill a classmate?

Great episode.

Well, if she was right, no one would remember.
So I would kill the extra.

In this episode:
No clichés like the inhaler being empty and having no spares, cell phones being out of range, or the jock making stupid mistakes!

Still loved it.

Wow!!! Now everyone seem to be turning against each other. At this rate it looks like we are going to have a blood bath in the remaining two episodes.

As for the tape, it was kind of predictable. Someone would kill someone and everything stops. Although the part that really surprised me was that Mei's cousin was actually her sister.

Although I was hoping to see why Izumi was crying. I wonder if it was just a dream or it really did happen since it seems that Kouichi doesn't remember her.

Can't wait for these last two episodes!

Awesome ep.

Looks like people are starting to die left and right next ep. Either through panic and people start killing each other, or just the calamity at work.

Either way, I think I know how this is going to end.

Sakakibara will find out from Mei who the 'another' is. He'll be the one to kill that person. He's the one with the 'insane' smile on his face in the ep 1 prologue. Things are finally starting to be clear :D

What's strange is Mei is seen with two normal eyes in the ep 1 prologue. There could be some significance to that since all the scenes in the prologue have happened ( Or will happen ).

It's just odd that Mei's eye has this strange power to see the dead so I'm thinking there will be some shocking revelations involving her in the last 2 eps.

OH MAAAN, now I want to know who you guys think the dead person is :O
And what's up with Sakakibara meeting the girl before, as seen in her dream.

And doesn't Mei's eye double as the author's Deus Ex Machina? I mean, it came out of the blue.

Still, impressed (:

Well this was awesome, and next episode looks even more exciting with more action.
So the glasses guy that died at the end wasn't the dead? Colors on his arm were the same as the dead guy's from Sakakibara's mother's photograph. Yet preview showed more deaths will happen.

You made me check it and it turns out the places where characters died all showed up in the prologue of ep1. There were a few places along with a picture of bloody knife on the ground before the umbrella and staircase that's believed to be the first death, could it mean Misaki was murdered somewhere? And yeah, there's Mei with both red eyes and insane laugh Sakakibara in the prologue, and again the dam after his shoot.
I'm guessing the dam will play a major role in the story, most probably it's the place where all will end.

I don't think it came off as completely unexpected. She told Sakakibara earlier on the special ability of her eye and it was hinted at that she could tell the extra one apart from the living when she told him that she doesn't think he is the dead student a few episodes ago.

Awesome episode! If only I hadn't accidentally read who the dead peron actually is... =/

So why hasn't Mei told them about the "Another" yet? Ok, she might be embarrassed of the eye, or might not want to kill her classmate, but isn't she basically doing the same by keeping silent? The fact that she hasn't told anyone yet means that she is the one responsible for all the deaths so far (or at least the ones on the trip).

I wouldn't be surprised if Sakakibara has repressed his memories due to something bad happening. I mean, that's happened quite often in more serious animes.

That dream shows us how and where she met Sakakibara before.

As for Mei, I'm sure it will be explained soon. It's not like it was a revelation that her eye could see the dead. It was already heavily hinted at in previous eps.

Hmm yea I forgot about the dam. Will be interesting how that plays a part in the next 2 eps.

Everything in the prologue so far has had great significance. I'm just curious why Mei is shown with two normal eyes.

Just crossed my mind..did they ever mention that the extra one has to be a student of the class? I mean could it be, for example, Mikami-sensei? I've watched so many mystery series and they've always been misleading, the good guy is always the bad guy and now everyone seems to think it's a student of the class but wouldn't it be cool if it was Mikami-sensei..She's part of the class anyway!

Here you go, screen caps of that part in episode 1:

Also, Misaki was there in the prologue. Funny how she wasn't wearing her eyepatch and in the first couple of episodes we wondered what was under it. We had the answer since the prologue!

Finally, Misaki with NORMAL eyes:

Yea the prologue pretty much has all the significant events that have/will happen.

What's interesting is the opening theme itself changes everytime someone dies. If you scroll through the opening in every ep, the sequence of characters changes and a new person is added, which means hints of who the people will die has been there all along.

With that said, I wonder what other hints are left in the prologue and opening. Or heck, the first few eps. It seems the creators have been leaving us many subtle hints since the beginning and since we're reaching the climax of the show, going through the first few eps again may lead to some clues.

Right now my main suspects for the 'another' are Mei and Reiko. The fact that Sakakibara is seen in the prologue with a creepy smile leads me to believe the person he has to kill is a major character. It would have the biggest impact on him since it's someone he has been close with.

Mei and Reiko are the best candidates for that. And, unlike Matsunaga who accidentally killed the 'another', Sakakibara KNOWS he has to kill that person. That, and it would be incredibly lame is the 'another' was a character that has had little to no screentime.

That's just my guess :P

I'm wondering if the dream sequence really reflects something that has happened or if it is altered somehow. Because in the first case it seems odd that Akazawa would only have a faint memory of meeting Sakakibara. I sense something fishy...

At this point I still wonder if Misaki has an ulterior motive. Of course, she claims that it wouldn't have changed anything ( or at least she believed it before listening to the tape) to reveal the extra student. But this sounds rather implausible. Does she possibly feel satisfaction from the students' deaths to compensate for the loss of her beloved twin sister?

It it really turns out that Teshigawara has killed Kazami then it would be really ironic since they are childhood friends of some sort. We haven't heard much from Kazami since Sakuragi's death thus I would presume that he has actively avoided Sakakibara and Misaki because he holds them responsible for Sakuragi's demise to whom he presumably had feeling for. This could also be the reason for the argument he and Teshigawara seemingly had before the former one died.

Sakakibara made the right decision by examining the tape secretely as it would have resulted in a chivvy if it would have become public that the curse can be stopped by annihilating the extra student and ultimately in a bloodbath. Though, that seems to be what's happening next episode nonetheless.

However, we can't be sure if the measure that is descibed in the tape is crucial to stop the curse or if something else might have contributed to it. There's a possibility that we are deceived by the author of this story on purpose.

Mei is right though. Even if she knew who the 'another' is, it wouldn't matter.

Even if she did know that you had to kill the 'another' to stop the calamity, do you think she has the ability to do it? She doesn't seem like the type.

As for Akazawa, it is indeed odd why she remembers but Sakakibara doesn't. Maybe she's the 'another' which explains why Sakakibara has no recollection of ever meeting her before, but she does? Afterall, the dead don't know they're dead, right? That, and the living don't have memories of that person.

Just my guess.

It definitely might turn into a "Battle Royale" now that it's starting to get around that killing the dead one ends the curse. The previews look quite ominous. Asakawa definitely has it out for Mei. You can feel animosity and you just know there's going to be a confrontation soon.

I doubt it'll go as far as BR's plot. But, I do think someone will flip out and start murdering others cause they fear for their own life.

Akazawa seems the most obvious choice, but maybe that IS too obvious (especially the interactions between her and Mei in this episode followed by Mei saying she knows who it is). She fits well as a very important character but not the most important. The fact that she's met Sakakibara before but had trouble remembering and the inconsistencies between what he says and what she and his dad says seem to say that he met her during her actual life and she's now dead. The anime has to clear up the confusion around that in some way at least and that seems the most likely but like I said, a bit obvious.

Not as suspenseful as the other two episodes. Still enjoyable all together, though.

Am I the only one that noticed that in the prologue, they called the student named Misaki a girl, but in some recent episodes (Around 6 - 8) they referred to Misaki as a male? Was I the only one that caught that? :/

Plus, I'm still waiting for the stuff from the prologue to be revealed.

Good episode, shit starting to get serious!

So at least we know WTF happen years ago that stop the calamity, and i predicted correctly you need kill the dead person even that he was lucky as hell.

Akasawa seems to have big jealousy of Mei as she is to close to Sakakibara, even that i like her that was a bitchy move to Mei good they step up for her.

I though for a moment they were going to kiss!!! but it didt happen :(

That photo of 26 years ago i must say it was creepy as hell..i love it!!

So sisters and no cousins...i most say Mei sister was cute i liked that blown hair but it looks everything start in April no May....

Next episode seems shit get serious blue guy got killed at it seems probably someone heard how to stop the calamity and is starting in killing spree...shit will get serious 2 more to go!!!
