| Easily one of the best episode of 2023.. the direction and every single scene was animated so realistic HOLY...it's like they added more soul. I could go all night praising this episode and all the scenes that deserve more praise. |

| Wonder how much of the slap was out of genuine contempt for using the powder and how much of it was payback for all those times Maomao got sent going "boing boing" for just doing what she's supposed to. Either way, man that was satisfying. |

| I noticed the animation style was a little different for this episode, but I loved it. Fantastic directing/animation/OST work for this episode. I always find myself smiling at all of Maomao's antics and can't wait to see how the story progresses in future episodes. |

| The Crystal Pavilion where Concubine Lihua resides, Maomao clearly is not appreciated by her servants, and that request comes directly from the Emperor himself, which to say this in front of Gyokuyou, it sure is a "Heaven vs. Hell" situation. What is served to Lihua is rather exquisite, yet for a frail Lady, it's too much for her to bear. What's worse is her servants now allowing Maomao to get close to Lihua, something which after the loss of her child. it's a burden. To cure that effect, Jinshi accompanies Maomao as supervision for her to treat Lihua, though that same poisonous face powder comes back to wreck her, which Maomao does not take lightly to that and proceeds to unceremoniously embarrass one of her lady-in-waiting with the banned substance (who was temporarily confined as her punishment)...though karma really got back to her how women can emotionally change so fast. Sure, Maomao has to work doubly hard, and one of her requests to build a steam bathhouse for Lihua, as the Lady grapples with the loss of her child. Once Lihua gets better, her presence as a concubine shows, and Maomao's deed is done. Lihua questions her ability to bear another child, though the Emperor will see her again, and her secret technique taught to her, which hopefully will bear another fruit. Is yet another poisonous object come to affect another curse again? |

| Gods, even I worry earning her wrath now. She really throw down the gauntlet there...and the banned powder! Wow the patient really has made full recovery, and her advise handed down from the brothel's knowledge to put those "big" front assets to use. I chuckled at the flashback with the big sisters back at the brothel especially the one twiddling Maomao's twin pig tails to her own face. |

| Mao Mao is such a badass!!! I absolutely love that she smacked the shit out of the horrible lady whatever she is. She was literally killing the concubine all because of stupid powder. I’m surprised that the concubine wasn’t more grateful with the fact that Mao Mao brought her back to life. Hilarious that the emperor stopping going to the jade palace as frequently probably because of lihuas big tiddies <3 |

| Ignorance is a sin indeed, as Concubine Gyokuyou said. At first I thought that Lady-in-waiting kept using the banned powder on the Concubine on purpose, in order to kill her and take her place. But it was a misplaced and stupid act of loyalty after all, to make her look more beautiful(?) -pale as a corpse was apparently considered beautiful in ancient China, an idea that was later imported in Japan via the Geisha - for the Alpha Male Emperor... That was quite an enjoyable slap, I didn't know Maomao had it in her. We saw another, fiercer side of her. She clearly cannot tolerate stupidity. Yet another great episode! |

| What a fulfilling episode once again; was expecting Lady Lihua to be sickly for a long time, so it's good to see her well again thanks to Maomao and her dominating bitch-slap. Even the lady-in-waiting that received said bitch-slap redeemed herself a little, despite blindly having continued using the white powder. All is well for Lady Lihua again, and Maomao herself will no doubt have had found much favour in the sight of the emperor. Lady Lihua showing her admiration and gratitude for Maomao's tireless efforts as she caresses her head as she sleeps was a bit of a tear-inducing moment. I'm glad she didn't turn out to be some antagonist of the story, which she very well could've. Instead she is also a kind and caring person. And I'm also glad she wasn't deliberately being poisoned either, that one of her lady-in-waitings was secretly against her. Basically I'm just glad there's none of that cheap drama. Just a good person nursing a mentally and physically troubled person back to health. Also I wonder what kind of technique Maomao shared with Lihua; it was after praising her "assets", so my guess is that she most likely she recommended the art of giving a boob-job. |

| The amount of CGI in comparison with previous episodes is so noticeable that it is even uncomfortable for me to watch. However, the plot and characters save the episode in my opinion. |

| I can't believe that Lihua's make-up assistant kept using the banned powder, I mean it was banned for a reason! But at least Lihua recovered thanks to Maomao and an assist from Jinshi. Oh and Maomao told Lihua about a technique by using her assets on the emperor lol. |
| Another great episode! I'm really enjoying this show! Seeing Maomao go from being submissive with the sick concubine's ladies-in-waiting to full rage when realizing they were still using poisonous makeup to "keep her beautiful" when it was harming her really made me love this strong MC even more! The animation quality of this anime is also top-notch, and I'm getting addicted to the songs too! The powder scene was definitely the strongest part of the episode, but I also appreciated minor scenes, such as when Maomao was telling the cooks what to prepare. The most hilarious scenes, like when Maomao gave advice to the concubine about how to use her "best assets" to please the emperor, and the concubine got all flustered, had me laughing out loud 😂. I'm looking forward to the next episode! |

| Maomao really laid down the law when she found out that one of Lady Lihua's ladies-in-waiting was putting the forbidden, poisonous white powder on her. Maomao saved Lady Lihua's life, and for that, she's grateful, and she may have another chance at getting pregnant. |

| Lady Liuha appeared to be an unsympathetic bitch in a previous episode. This episode redeemed her character and likely became an ally of 猫猫. I wonder though who will be the main antagonist of this series. Right now, it's just the medical case of the book, even though I love each episode. Maōmaō has also learned to display her bitch side, even though it may not be natural for her to do so. Lady Lihua's ladies-in-waiting are a useless bunch. |

| It was so satisfying to see her drill in how deadly serious the situation was to that girl willfully ignoring hard facts. She was KILLING her just to make her pretty? That's how stupid her logic was. Maomao's shift in tone was shocking but it had to be done to knock some sense into her. |
| The animation is really something else, it reminds me of Ghibli with its attention to detail. This is why rome was the better empire, didnt like the emperor? Just bribe his guards to dispose him or let your soldiers proclaim you as the emperor. No mandate from heaven bullshit. A shame for the good emperors, but thats life. Wow Maomao was having none of that usual shit today. I know this show is about court politics essentially but something inside me just cringes when I see the ladies in waiting beeing so happy about serving the other women just because she gets boned by the emperor. |

| Maomao managed to successfully complete the task given to her by the emperor himself. With small, yet crucial help from Jinshi, whose presence allowed her to get near to Lihua and scold her servants properly. Her rage looked cool, but I ain't surprised of her reaction. That cursed powder, which has caused so many trouble and pain, almost killed Lihua, even though technically there shouldn't have been any ounce of that powder left in the palace. But well, this mistake was detected in time and Lihua has been healed relatively fast. :) |

| Very beautiful episode. I loved how gradually Lady Liuha recovered by Maomao's help and knowledge. She was grateful for saving her life by patting her head asleep. |
