I know kids grow fast but Momiji's case is ridiculous, makes me sad since I never got a growth spurt... I didn't expect Momiji to love Tohru as I thought they were more like great friends, hopefully now that his curse is broken he'll find the happiness he so long yearned for.

Momiji deserved have his curse broken. I feel like he's the most emotionally sound of the bunch. He always thinks so clearly and positively, and never shies away from the truth. I'm so proud of our little grown-up bunny boy <3
These faces are so cute that I might just leave them here (#`Д´)´∀`)・ω・) ゚Д゚)゚∀゚)・∀・) ̄ー ̄)´_ゝ`)

Nooo!!! My cute Momiji had a growth spurt, my cute little Momiji is taller now... *sob*

Hiro is losing his grip on creating mean conversations... lmao
Kisa on the other hand is so cute trying to speak to Kyou. XD

Never in my imagination have I thought of Momiji egging or provoking Kyou's affection towards Tooru.

Haru is always perceptive as always.

This is totally unexpected, Momiji is now free from their "Curse" or "Bond", but how?!
I could probably guess but I won't say it...
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Is this a reverse harem after all?? All of a sudden Momiji loves Tohru aswell, without any previous hints of it being more than "brotherly" love

Can someone explain to me how did the curse break or at least what the curse is? Ive watched almost 60 episodes and still dont fully understand it

The curse will broke eventually and naturally but was Akito overreacting that she would be all alone if the curse will break. It will explain how the curse break in some final episodes of the final season.
Wut? The curse explained on Season 2 that the zodiac members were Akito's property and they couldn't set free because of it.

And no, this is not a reverse harem.

Holy crap, ever since the last episode of season 2, every episode seems to be moving a rapid pace. I'm not sure if it's due to the 3rd season being only 13 episodes, but the plot really kicked into high gear with all these sudden developments. Additionally, it seemed like the younger characters suddenly sprouted in terms of height within just a few episodes. Has it really been that long since we've seen Momiji? We haven't seen much of Kagura, and we've seen even less of Ritsu, so I wonder how they're doing.

So, as it turns out, a running theme of Fruits Basket is parental abuse. It seems no matter which way you turn, you have kids with crappy parents, or adults with crappy childhoods. It seems the bare minimum for parenting in Fruits Basket is to acknowledge that your kids are capable of feeling pain. It's a wonder if these parents expect unconditional love back, much like a wounded puppy. The solution Fruits Basket presents is for the kids to achieve personal independence, causing the parents to be taken aback by their kids' defiance. I'd say this writing absurdly presents these parents as fiendishly evil, but, well, I can't say real life is incapable of such absurdities anymore.

Nonetheless, this phenomenon also extends to the Zodiac members and Akito. Without anything physically binding a person to their perceived superior, the person can just leave. As such, an emotional bond, founded in abuse or fear thereof, would lock the person into that abusive relationship. However, with that bond severed, there's really nothing left. For Akito, she can kick, scream, slap, cry, and sulk all she wants, but without anything binding Momiji, there's nothing stopping him from leaving. At least, nothing short of threatening his family and loved ones, but that wouldn't since he was already stripped of relationships early on. That kind of backfired, come to think of it.

As a lingering thought, Isuzu was locked in the cat's cage for what appears to be days without food or water. It didn't seem like she transformed into a horse from being weak, though if she did, I'd have no idea how Kureno could have brought her to a hospital.

1) I didn't remember Momiji growing up!! I did kind of remember him liking Tohru though...!!

2) MOMIJI'S CURSE BROKE! JUST LIKE THAT!! I didn't remeber him being the second one to have his curse broken, and the fact the zodiac members realize something is off...
I can't wait for the others to find out! I'm surprised the first thing he did wasn't hugging Tohru though! Hehe

4) My heart broke when Momiji's mom talked to him so lovely... I don't think she can (or will) get her memories back, but I hope at least Momiji and Momo can be close now the curse has broken.

I was surprised because the second person to be freed from the curse was Momiji, I thought it would be Haru because the strings of bond were starting to break (in the previous episode), or am I the one misunderstanding something here? But if not, why Momiji? What made the curse break?

Anyway I'm glad to see he is free! Although it's a bit sad because he doesn't have a "family" anymore but I'm very happy and proud that he can be free from Akito for real and not become Kureno 2.0!! He will fight for his own happiness! :") I also didn't think that he would provoke Kyo haha. His real family still can't accept him and the girl he likes is also in love with someone else.. but I hope you can get real happiness and lots of love, Momiji ♡

I thought Haru would be the one being freed but it seems Momiji was it. Too bad, I'm not an expert in relationships to figure out the workings of the curse.

Momiji with a growth spurt~ :)

I thought Haru's curse would be the second to break but I'm so happy that Momiji's curse broke. It's slightly bittersweet though.

Watching this again was so worth it. Momiji's story always gets me emotional, but it's hitting so much harder this time around. It shows how breaking free from the Zodiac isn't the end goal or the key to happiness by itself. It's but another step in life. One that comes organically at a turning point in each character's journey & growth.

I've been in a real slump this entire year so far and I've been especially feeling trapped these last few weeks. When Momiji asked Akito what she was going to do, it felt like those words were directed right at me. It stung and I nearly broke down crying, but hearing Momiji's answer has uplifted & encouraged me to keep trying.

Respect for Momiji. In this show, he was goated since min 1.

He was so mature, even if in public / even if on the surface everyone saw him as a kid, he was real a grown ass man.

He's the outsiders no one cares about. But he did his job perfectly A to Z.

He respected everyone, even Kyo with Tohru and give him advice.

Man, I hope he'll recover somewhere else. With a girl seeing him as a real man.

MOMIJI FOCUSED EPISODE, WE WON!

So Momiji did change a lot physically, I'm glad that my question got answered. And honestly, I'm super surprised to see he has actually feelings for Tohru! Can't blame him, Tohru best girl.
Momiji's curse broke! He's free! That whole scene was so well done, because I was conviced that it was Haru's curse that had broken, but no, it was Momiji's, and it was suddenly, just like Kureno's! I'm still wondering what's the key to break the curse. Obviously Akito had to emotionally blackmail Momiji to stay by her side, but I'm glad that Momiji chose what he wants! With the curse broken, he can finally have the opportunity to live with his own family, and you could see how happy he was in the end of the episode! Momijo deserves to be happy, and I'm glad his curse was broken!
It must have been really hard for Akito to see another zodiac member breaking his curse, which just shows sooner or later, she will end up alone...

Also, that dialogue between Kyo and Momiji, wow, Momiji really understands that he has 0 chances with Tohru, eventhough it should be easier for him now that his curse was broken. Which makes him also sad, because it would make Tohru happier if Kyo's curse broke instead, because that way there would be nothing between him and her (and would lift up a lot of problems Kyo has), so when he says this freedom can't give him the person he wants, is really mature, but also sad, from him :(

At this point, I don't even know what to expect for the rest 8 episodes, I just know I'm not ready for these amazing series to end!

Momiji was always so mature even despite his looks now it matches better but he was always my ideal type of person talking about caring, charming yet mature and thoughtful person. I'm so glad for him to get free from the curse. Hope to see more getting freed from it and seeing Akito in despair.

It was obvious that Momoji had a crush on Tohru, but we didn't take it seriously because he was short. Now that he's tall, we take it more seriously. Lol... It's like he said, he got away with things because he was short and adorable.

The curse breaking was actually what I like about this episode. I think most of us thought that the curse breaking would bring about happiness, but it just made Momoji further from this friends. Though we should've known with the rooster. His curse broke, but it wasn't instant happiness.

That was satisfying to watch when Momiji closed that door in Akito's face! I'm sorry, but I still don't like Akito. What a disturbing woman. I don't know how this story will ever redeem her character.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

DAAAAAAMN, this is one of the biggest reaches I have seen in anime in a while. That kid went from almost perfect "knee to the face " height, to me being the one taking the knee to the face. That kid went on steroids or some shit, because damn, he has no business changing that much without a clear time skip. A month can't deal that much damage, I swear.
