Well, that was hot. I didnt expect that scene to pop up. Still, i can't believe that this anime is categorized under seinen. The animation style doesn't suit the seinen type. Shouldn't it be under josei or shoujo?

Seinen, shoujo, shounen and josei are demographics of magazines that publish manga, they have nothing to do with plot, theme, tone, seriousness and artstyle.

It was wrong of the other person to insult you.

What I don't like about your initial comment is, that you asked, if the Japanese are really like this/want to have sex with siblings. That they show something in a fictional story, doesn't mean, that they want to do this in real life.

Western fiction has just as much incest as manga and anime. And you how incest is perceived in western countries.

Sorry about that maybe I said that in the wrong way actually I love the the Japanese culture and I dream to go to Japan one day, and I think you are right you can't judge a hole nation by some animes , like game of thrones has that ,that doesn't mean that western countries like it .
I just missed a part in this episode and she was saying may brother all the time so I misunderstood and I was actually looking forward this anime so I was little mad I just can't accept this kind of relationship.
I always happy to say sorry if I said anything wrong but I can't accept anyone to insult me like this

I almost didn't watch this series but seeing that it was the new "Noitamina", I thought I had to watch at least one episode.
Overall it's a success for the moment. :D
The animation is unsurprisingly excellent, the colors and scenery are wonderful.
The OP and the ED are excellent, probably in my top 3 of the season.
The story is interesting and seems very mature compared to many romances (I think Toradora in particular) The idea of the substitute isn't bad... to see how it will be exploited.

Anyway excellent discovery!

i did enjoy the first episode though, but i have my doubts since the manga doesn't seem really good at all.

That's okay. It is possible to miss, that japanese youths often call close older friends brother.

Incest stories are a delicate matter. They don't bother me per se, it depends on how it's handled.

That's understandable, no one likes to be insulted. Some people are to quick with insults online.

Uuuugh I don't have strong feelings about this series. The two main characters are mopey adolescences who have feelings about other people and end up using each other rather than just be with each other. They don't claim to have feelings but they certainly have a close enough relationship to have sex. Yeah as far as I'm concerned they had sex with each other on that bed. He undressed her, fondled her, kissed her they stopped short of maybe showing us full intercourse because otherwise this wold be a hentai.

"Just gotta pretend he's my big bro" uuugh I hope this girl walks away broken and lonely and if the guy really feels the same then I hope the same pitiful fate for him. I think it's just plain disgusting. I don't like this premise at all I'll give this a few more episodes but I feel like this is going to be another School Days in terms of deplorable characters.

It's a neighborhood 'Onii-chan'. A childhood friend of hers that happened to be several years older. Not a biological one. Not even a step-one.

I'm honestly at a loss with this one. I both loved and loathed the manga that spawned this show... I managed to get through it once, I dunno if I'll be able to get through all the twists and turns again.

I give this anime a 3/10 because Lerche's animation style is always good. But the plot is sooooooo bad. I won't watch the second episode. I think I watched enough and now it's time to clean my eyes with some holy water drops.

A semi-awake viewer shouldn't have missed that "oniichan" isn't actually her brother. He's an elder childhood friend. So, no incest.
Its because a lot of anime fans are likely half watching every anime they watch and/or are really stupid. I learned to not post in these episode review threads because I find myself realizing I am smarter than 90% of the people here due to the dumb things people spout.

Nah, this one's on the subs using the word "brother". I can't remember ever seeing that translation for a relationship that wasn't siblings or step siblings. I was 50-50 on whether they were seperated by divorce or he was just a childhood friend, if the subs had used a different word or his name I would have been 100% sure it wasn't incest.

Can't believe I am using the word retarded because I hate that word, but there must be some truth to that term when discussing the anime fandom. People always diss the anime fandom for being "weeaboos", but I think the real issue is so many fans say stupid shit that proves that they're either not paying any attention to anime they watch or are just in fact not very bright.

What is happening to this fandom.

@niwasatou - I promise you this anime isn't the only anime that this has happened to before though. People continue to spout dumb shit everyday on myanimelist and off myanimelist. The anime fandom never stops acting like this, ever.

Not shocking though since some people within the anime community watches anime at 1.5 and 2x speed..

I am not trying to sway anyone's opinion though. The anime fandom does that enough on their own and that is hard to deny based off what the anime fandom does and says. I am no grouping ALL anime fans in this, but a lot. Maybe not 90%, but what I've seen its certainly at least 60%.

That was interesting, the ED and OP are great.
But a lot of people are saying this is a "mature romance", why? just because they got a little bit more intimate than in other anime? since when is having spicy scenes=mature that's the same philosophy of saying that it having blood and gore=mature, doesn't make sense.
A mature romance should be two characters meeting and then developing their relationship into something more in a believable way, not meeting and having fun on the same day because they both want someone else.
But oh well, this should be kind of entertaining at least.

Maybe calling him "brother" is a little strange, but they've known each other for a long time and are very close, so he's kinda like a brother to her (like a part of the family)
