Also, having both 1999 and 2011 provides two different points of view on the series which I think gives 2011 its real strength. If there was no 1999 I feel that 2011 would be more polarized with fans either hating it or liking it, like a normal series. I'd even go as far as to say there would be more haters for 2011 or down votes. But seeing as how 2011 is a remake, it gives fans and newcomers a different portrayal of the world of HxH. This creates less bias in the ratings because someone can compare 1999 and 2011 and make a more accurate judgment of which they like better. It's not surprising more people like 2011 than 1999, I mean 2011 has better animation and art, not to mention they adapted more of the manga than 1999. It's all a new and fresh look for the series. I think more of the 1999 anime apologists should look to 2011 as a different view of the series rather than worrying about which is the definitive version. You're definitely right and hit the nail in the coffin. Now that i think about it the 1999 anime did help HxH greatly when it comes to exposure.I said that comment mostly because of the nostalgia fans. |

| The ranking doesn't matter, in my opinion this Hunter x Hunter is probably the best long running Shonen anime I've seen in years. In terms of overall quality it's as good if not better than FMA:B. |

The advantage hxh has over other anime is that it doesn't have that many troll votes compare to other anime, so it's 50/50 on it dropping or increasing. |

| I actually expect the score to jump a bit higher in the next few days, given that there's quite a few users who only rate animes after they've completed it. It only comes down to how they rate it, then. Let's just see whether it'll be enough to get into the top 5 - if it does, rank 3 is definitely in sight. |

That Hunter x Hunter is ranked above the original Gintama is proof enough. |
| My favorite "fighting" shounen anime are Gintama and HxH In my opinion it's really stupid give a low rating to any anime just because you are a fan of other anime. HxH: 9.09, But it could be higher pd: The manga could be one of the top ranked if Togashi would have drawn better from the beginning. |
