| I don't think popularity is an opinion lol. Anyways, Dragon Ball series definitely. It's HUGE among Spanish speakers (Mexico, Central and South America). Saint Seiya and Captain Tsubasa were also pretty popular over there, but not as much as Dragon Ball. |

| Don't like to admit it, but at least right now it's probably Attack on Titan, in terms of actual interest from audiences (not awareness). I have three 30+ coworkers who aren't really interested in anime, but are devoted to Attack on Titan and have even received Attack on Titan-themed presents for their birthdays. If the series has reached that far in the demos I have no reason to believe it's also the most popular series right now for at least most people over the age of 12-13. To the people mentioning Pokemon: what's popular is not the anime series, is actually the games. The anime series is only watched by kids. Barely anyone beyond the age of 12 are interested in them. |

| If you're talking about of all time then, yes, it's Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z in the US. Not even close. Even my 87-year-old grandfather knows about those. The first Pokemon movie made over $85 million in America and that's before taking into account inflation which almost doubles that amount. The Demon Slayer movie, by contrast, made $49 million at a time when anime is more popular than ever. Dragon Ball Super: Broly raked in $30 million and that property is almost 40 YEARS OLD. No one is going to be making AoT or DS anything in 40 years. It's harder to judge what are the most popular right this minute because the internet excludes people who don't google info about what they're watching and asking your friend group is anecdotal. When I went to the Japan store at DisneyWorld recently, 90% of the merchandise was DS or JJK. My gut instinct says Naruto is bigger than both of those though so take that with a grain of salt. |
