Answering here quickly to avoid going off-topic: I often tag people when I name them somewhere, I consider it proper etiquette. Not trying to summon anyone :p

Lol, sorry, I wound up making my post before seeing this reply. I probably would have scaled back a lot if I knew you weren't planning to reply. That said, if there's any points you'd like to discuss here, I'm always open.

Personally I've only read Mill and Singer. At some point I'd probably want to get to Sidgwick. My understanding is that Bentham is considered a dry writer, while Mill has a bit more flair to his writing. But regardless, I imagine he's good enough to read since he kicked things off. Any of the usual utilitarian philosopher mentions are probably fine.

I agree that a big point of contention is whether you believe things in life break down ultimately to whether happiness/suffering are the only fundamental moral considerations. I feel like for the most part, people plan in line with the idea that it is.

I feel like the question of the torturer's attitude should only be cared about in terms of how that plays out in terms of suffering. I don't know if I'd struggle with anything involving that, personally. At least in an abstract scenario, lol.

Sorry, I misclicked friend request on your profile. lol

If you accept or not, it's fine either way.

Dunning Kruger effect is right, ironically.

Also, just seen you posted about the exact season I am on. That helps quite a lot. I'll push through then. Much appreciated.

I've never really found self-deprecating humour to be an excuse to actually deliver a poor quality experience. The episodes you specifically mention there (the self-deprecating ones) were my personal least favorites, on the basis that it was often a single, still image of the outside of the characters' house whilst the voice actors shouted really loudly about how horrible the show is for over 10 minutes straight. It somewhat reminds me of somebody who's fat constantly cracking jokes about how fat they are, it's not really humorous.

In regards to the parody episodes, they were always solid. I enjoyed the Dragon Ball one, and I also LOVED the Saw episode.

There's not a whole lot wrong with many of the characters. The only ones I dislike right now are Shinpachi and Kamui. Madao is excellent, Kagura is excellent (her father as well), and Hijikata and Okita are a superb duo. The rest of the characters I also like, and have no distaste for.

The dentist episode sounds familiar, but, I don't remember it that much. The Green Giant episode I remember clearly, and I did really like that one. Never seen the sniper episode.

The problem for me is that, all of my favorite parts of the series were from the previous season. The current season I'm on has just been 33 episodes of below average content that's burnt me out considerably.

I assume each season blends into one for you(?) and thus, you have a hard time pinpointing specifically what happens in each season (such as the season I am currently on: Gintama').
Not to worry. I suppose I'll just force my way through the current season-- and from the next season, decide to fully drop the franchise or not.

Appreciate your input.

I'm on the "Renho Arc", friend. If I remember correctly (haven't watched it in a few months) the main characters are all dressed as Elizabeth in a Star Wars parody; with a Darth Vader Elizabeth.

In terms of important characters dying, I'm not 100% sure. I believe nobody important has died at the current part I'm at.

Apologies for taking a while to respond. I got slightly sick-- leading to me being fatigued.

I once had a friend who was much like you in that he was obsessed with lines in the show, and he was ALSO obsessed with certain episode's titles. Though, do try not to spoil yourself on anything (unless you're one of those people who believes spoilers makes content better...)
Sadly, in my case, it has been many, many years since I have seen the show, and thus, don't really remember any lines specifically. All I do recall is how the dialogue within that show was some of the only dialogue within a show EVER to make me shudder with vehemence.

In regards to Reinhardt, I believe I may of mentioned to you earlier on how (as time goes on) you'll see just how some of the characters are far from perfect, flawless entities (Reinhardt and Yang specifically).
It really makes you wonder if some people even watch the shows to begin with, or if they merely glace at a show's beginning and ending to try and form a review for clout (somewhat like adding shows to one's list that they haven't even seen, merely to seem more knowledgeable on Anime as a subject-- when in reality they know sweet F.A).

I glanced through the Subreddit's topic earlier, but, I'll be sure to view it in greater detail sometime soon. I don't really believe in my mind changing because of other people's answers. but, I'm open to view discussion-- even when I learn nothing from it.

Somewhat off-topic, but, I've been wanting to try get back into Gintama and finish it off. However, if I am being honest, the current season I am watching... I'm not loving at all (Gintama'). The original Gintama show/season had its major highs and its major lows for me; with my emotions varying from agonising pain to ridiculously entertained.
Is Gintama' meant to be a terrible season? I can't really gauge answers from Gintama fans, since all they ever state is that "All of Gintama is amazing", but, I'll trust your opinion. If Gintama' is regarded as one of the better seasons, I'll probably just drop the franchise indefinitely.
I actually miss the show quite a lot, but, I ONLY miss the good episodes that were bestowed upon me in the first season/show.

Take care of yourself, friend.
