They could NOT have done that episode any better. For the context of where it was placed - story wise - it was the perfect episode to lead into what will be coming next.

Though not much happened, it really was a nice, calming episode which left me with a warm feeling, and excited to see everything that will come.

I hope we get a new opening next episode too, though considering the new remix version of "We Are" released only a few months ago, might not happen.

What's unfathomably great about One Piece is these filler episodes. They really make you appreciate the individual characters and empathize with them in regard to the struggles they went through in their past. You can't help but root for all of them.

Nice pace, nice character development, again nice filler! One Piece does it again. Next episode we are back on track tho. I can't wait for what's coming.

Also some nice Robin screen time again ^_^ I like this kind of mature beauty <3

Very nice episode, I didn't love it , but I certainly liked it alot. Not the best filler episode ever either in my opinion, but still nice. Smooth calm relaxing episode with some funny moments, brook's feelings , character background and development is just really RLY well done in One Piece, all straw hats are awesome and have good stories revolving around them....

For you action shounen freaks, learn to appreciate these kinda episodes too, this is just as good One Piece awesomeness.... :)

a really nice episode, even for a filler it was too good, it showed brook's emotions, character develpoment and a nice pace.. really can't believe the fillers will end so soon, I want more One Piece fillers..^^

P.S Naruto and Bleach should really learn from on how to make "good" fillers that are worth watching.

Nice Brooke episode. I liked how he actually improved Luffy's day by adding soy to the meat.

I'm excited to see the main story coming back so quickly. Can't wait for some of the awesome things in store...

I think sometimes the filler episodes are better than the actual plot. They can chill on that boat as long as they want and it's still fun to watch the things they do.

I might be (One Piece) action freak, but this was excellent episode. And since previous episode was full of action (destroy the spa island!!! yeah!), It was ok to have some character development there.

I must say I couldn't disagree more, but that's me. All the characters have a set purpose - call it ambition, if you will - in one piece, and it shows, though not for all.
- Luffy is pushing on to reach the final island.
- Zoro always trains when he has time, in order to become the no.1 swordsman in the world.
- Sanji thinks he'll find All Blue while travelling with Luffy, so this doesn't show too well, unless he's talking to other cooks.
- Nami wants to travel the world and make a world map that she's seen for herself.
- Robin is looking for the "forbidden" truth, which is located at the Raftel Island, or so we believe from the Skipiea arc. Doesn't show much either.
- Chopper wants to become a doctor that can cure anything. This one doesn't show much either, other than him always going around making medicine, just in case.
- Usopp....well, he wants to have courage. A soldier of the sea. I believe he also wants to visit the giants' island. Sounds pretty much like the scared lion from the wizard of oz.
- Franky has his dream half completed already, which was to build a grand ship. The second part is to see it safely through the hardships of the sea. In other words, he maintains the ship.
-And then there's Brook. He made a promise to Laboon about 50 years ago that they would meet again. Seeing as how close they became before they parted, it's very understandable that he's looking forward to seeing hiim again. I also like how he keeps using the skull jokes, hehe.

Compared to Zoro, everyone else is a slacker. Even Luffy's powers come from a devil's fruit, but Zoro is 100% natural, from intense training. The weights he uses are so ridiculous!

Good filler. I don't like when there isn't any closure between arcs, but I really HATE when they drag out. Short and sweet break, and now I'm ready for more!

Mad props to the makers.

Wow this is one of the best episodes ive seen. I can't believe this was filler. It was a great development episode for brooks and how he wants to try and fit in and share a bonding of friendship and relations with the straw hat members. It was also brilliant idea to compare brooks to Robin because she experienced the same ordeal well first joining. So it was nice to see there connection and how robins speech to brooks really helped to warm brooks heart. Even though he doesn't have a heart lol.

Followed by the end of the binks sake song and watching all the reactions from the crew, was just amazing. One of my favorite episodes.

It is in cases like this where you can't always think fillers are crap. In away this episode was one of my most favorites and i could watch it over and over again and not get bored. I hope they do more of the Binks sake song in the future, it gives a sense of a very saddening, calm, yet emotional tune in the series.

Great episode, who would've known One Piece could do Slice of Life so well..and I don't think I'll ever get sick of Brook's music.

Having read here in the forum that was a filler.. really shocked me.. I thought it was canon material! haha Really like the episode.. great character development.. that White Handkerchief piece is hilarious! I liked Brooks' one liner "I died, and am only bones not, but I am really glad that I am alive." That nearly got me teary eyed haha
Overall, the episode was touching.. and the Violin piece of Bink's Sake hit the spot for me :-) Brook is going to fit in reaaaal well with the Strawhats!

that was a filler? if nobody told me, i would've never guessed. what a sweet, funny and calm episode with character development and slice of straw hat life moments. one piece truly does fillers best!

brook's song on the violin during the sunset, in that rare moment of quiet, was just beautiful. that song will never tire. everything was short and sweet, acting as a segue into the next canon arc. bravo!

A brilliant episode. How can this be so good? The Binks Sake moment was absolutely perfect.

Is this filler? I don't know. It certainly doesn't feel like filler. It is perfectly tied with the canon story and the continuity of the characters. It also shows something I felt was interesting, the integration of a new member in the crew. The show seems to assume that the new members don't need this sort of "transitional" stage in which they have to get used to the quirks of the Straw Hats. That's why this story was a very nice change of pace.

Absolutely loved this episode and it's Slice-of-Lifey vibes.. it's nice to see that even when the gang are busy fighting to be the best pirate crew, they have the peaceful and quiet moments to just be together.

Onto the next big arc!
