Family issues again and one of the reason is Mizuki's grandmother.

I do love how this episode focused on how much support Mizuki has in the end. Just goes to show how much friends are willing to support each other when they need it the most. But yeah, this episode filled it with drama with some theatrics. Hana's reunion with Mizuki and other was emotional as expected. This anime has come full circle.

A bunch of school going kids rebelling against adults and in turn teaching them what’s good and what’s bad… I mean what’s more grand than this? Seriously, the guy in suits runs a big family business and sits in a multi-storey building, so I mean it goes without saying he has a schedule packed with meetings and stuff, right? Though no.. NOT AT ALL. Even school kids can block his time and have one-to-one meetings as if it’s the most obvious thing. Seriously, where’s the part when he’ll act like a jerk and these kids have to rescue Mizuki with a helicopter???

I don’t know why they decided to go full-blown with the family drama this late and absolutely out of nowhere at that? STILL, MIZUKI SAID THE PHRASE AND GRANNY ACCEPTED… lmaoooo. And there you have it, she’s safe and stuff, and is back. I already said this, but will say it again, I’d rather have if the episode was filled with all that fake sense of competitiveness we were having for so many episodes, but no, they had to take the detour. Whatever man, whenever this gets a second season(if it does get one) and then we’ll have the prelims.

Still think they should’ve gone with something other than broadcasting club stuff, seriously, it’s really hard to take any of these characters seriously when they talk as if their life depends on winning the recitation/announcing competition lol.

It was a rescue arc, so yeah, ofc she was gonna get rescued lol. To my surprise, Mizuki did a lot of the heavy lifting here, I mean that part where she did the recitation was so damn good, both visually and just in general. But that's not to put down Hana and well, I mean they wouldn't have gotten there if it wasn't for her determination and pleas she gave to Mizuki's brother. Both did good on their parts, and in the end, the gang is all back together.

Everything that followed was pretty much just the usual shenanigans the club gets up to which I guess was cool... but as if the Mizuki scene earlier wasn't already one hell of a highlight in it of it's self already, they knocked it out the park with that last scene. Visually, yeah, that shit was amazing ofc. But if there's anything that scene said... it was that I SMELL YURI!!!! Even if it’s just yuri bait, I’m still eating it up. Never change, Hibike author, never change.

I'm not sure how to fully feel about this show. Sure, it has it's good moments, but it also has a lot of mundane moments. Never really liked Hibike as much as others hyped it to be, and I have somewhat the same feelings towards this. Still though, again, not a bad show. It keeps it light but real with the feels, Hana and Mizuki ofc do give off Kumiko and Asuka vibes from Euphonium, but no yuri baiting here, just a pretty nice story that the anime medium makes even better.

Ahh I need season 2! Takeda sensei did it again, another loveable cast of characters with a cute MC you want to see succeed. Had a lot of fun watching this and most importantly, learned a lot about the intricacies of broadcasting.

Whenever the series title is the title of a finale episode you just know it’s gonna be peak and this was no exception, best Hanashura episode by far. Loved how they handled the resolution to Mizuki’s family arc and solved it using the power of her recitation. Even her grandma out of touch ass had no choice but to feel all of Mizuki’s pain and frustration. That’s also easily the best looking performance of the season. BIND cooked. S/O to Koki for standing up for his little sister and rejecting the grandmother too. Knew he’d be a good guy!

“It’s thanks to you that my life is happy everyday. So I want you to be happy too.” “My days sparkle because of you. And when I don’t get to see you I feel sad. Because I like you” AHHHHH now i DARE someone to try and tell me they’re not lesbians lmao. I mean even Hibike didn’t get that blunt lol. Hana had come so far, no way the shy girl we met at the start would’ve had the courage to say that. It was Mizuki who saved her at the start and now she’s saved Mizuki

Ugh I hate that we leave off on a cliffhanger right before the competition, though! Idk if this has the sequel potential Hibike did, but I’ll for sure read it. Bind did a very good job of conveying the emotions of the characters through the readings and who doesn’t love a cute girl sports club anime.

The Broadcasting Club meeting Mizuki's elder brother Koki, though what they got was more of her grandmother Mayumi's incredibly persistent outdated views that'll clash with the day of the tournament if nothing is being done. And though Hana and the others gained access to the family trying to rescue Mizuki out of her forlorn trouble, it's the anger and suppression that she has been holding for the longest time against her grandmother, that shows her clear defiance and renders the rescue mission a success.

With the NHK Cup Kyoto prelims coming up, and everyone in the spirit to do their best, it's joy for Hana having Mizuki by her side, but it's the recitation parallels between her and Shura Saionji, embraced with the confidence to win their very first competition.

A progress this is a start for Hana and the Sumomogaoka High School Broadcasting Club, though we'll need Season 2 to properly get a feel for what this show is for.

The broadcasting club members managed to persuade Mizuki's brother—or rather, he understood what needed to be done for his sister's happiness.

The grandmother is definitely an unlikable character; she felt like the final boss of this season. And Shuudai had some serious guts to badmouth her in her own house.

I can't believe Hana and Mizuki started flirting again so early in the morning. Hopefully, everyone makes it to the primaries if they can.

So glad to see Hana and everyone with the help of Mizuki's brother were able to see Mizuki and make sure she was safe. Really liked seeing Mizuki's brother stand up to their Authoritarian Grandmother and her outdated views she certainly needed to be told how harmful she was being. Really loved this show I hope we do get a second season so we can see them take part in the Prelims.

The whole gang getting to save Mizuki..🥹🥹
Touga was really mouthing off 😅🤣
Finally, Mizuki's brother was able to stand up for his sister against their grandmother atleast once in his life.❤️❤️
Hana might have proposed a number of times to Mizuki in this episode with her not even being aware of it 😄😄❤️. And Mizuki's heart went Doki Doki everytime.💖✨
It's clear now that there is some connection between Shura Saionji and Hana. We saw them playing together on a swing in the flashbacks and Hana even mentioned to Mizuki that her father left her when she was young and what if he had taken one of the daughters with him.
'Flower and Asura' was the only anime that I watched on Tuesdays every week and it made my Tuesdays special. It's really sad that many haven't given this a try this season when it was airing..
💔💔
I hope this anime gets all the attention that it deserves..now that the anime is finished, I hope that many would start watching this show.
I'm gonna miss these lovable characters so much.
It's a 10/10 for me 💯💯💖
I really want to see the announcement of season 2 real quick. ☘️🤞🤞

Some people are better if dead that old hag is one of them. Good for Mizuki having such nice friends and a caring brother to save her. Just take your anger through recitation that will get her. Not the biggest fan of this drama coming this late but 2nd half saves it.
Taken out of context people will think Hana proposed Mizuki three times. But these two have very close bond and Hana was really worried about her safety. So it's good for them they can go to competition together. As for Yuri, atleast from Hana's pov she's more close to reverse harem than Yuri.

Hana and Shura there's definitely a connection here. Maybe through Hana 's father. Have to wait when/if they meet.

Without the actual NHK prelims it feels unfinished. And not a immediate announcement aswell. This needs a S2 otherwise there's no conclusion entire season was building towards this and they cut it right before. Although I prefer Mushoku Tensie S3 fast than these so dk.
7.5/10
Great show nothing to complain got exactly what I hoped for. Nice scenery with every recitation. As always Studio Bind never miss. Hana is such sweet mc and every other member including sensei were likeble. Each of their background was intresting. Again need a continuation or else just feels unfinished.

Honestly I want this anime to do turn towards yuri, because like what was this bitch scene!!! (and yea I get that girls can be in a platonic relationship, tho you can't stop me from shipping those too. Weather you like it or not. It has more chemistry than any other hetero ship in the show)

I feel like the rescue arc, even if wasn't necessary, it really showed how much the gang cares about Mizuki. I saw some accusation, that it "unrealistic" (tho I don't think that drama, nor anime has to be realistic), but I feel like it was pretty well done? Maybe except for the part where they were able to arrange a meeting with Mizuki's brother so fast, but like I dunno maybe it is possible. Beside that, Mizuki brother didn't have to be a jerk, for them to have fucked up family dynamic.

Also I feel, where Mizuki stand up to her grandma and recited that poem was really powerful. Even if it didn't work (which just really shows, how mature is the show and doesn't resolve problems in such a simple manner). Also I love the detail of how at the begging of the episode, they talk about the flowers and it nice parallel to Mizuki and her borther. Also how at the end of the episode, he stick both of the flower into his pocket, kind of showing, that for him there is no center piece and emphasis, they are equals.

So they are not going to show them doing reciting for the competition?!

I am very disappointed, since that was one of the main draws of this show, but it went completely away from the characters doing recitation.

I am docking this show for having the "family locked a girl in her room" arch, which wasted time that could have been spent on showing the competition.

What a dumb decision.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

So im gonna be honest this was easily one of my least favourite shows this season.

Now in no way is this a bad anime in fact I think its really good. But for me personally I never found myself invested. The story is there, the quality is good, it has a great cast of character and good voice acting.

I just never found myself that interest.

Glad to that the brother actually stood up for his sister. That's the end of the rescue arc I guess. Didn't really care much for it personally. We then got that morning recitation. Beautiful is all I can say. Loved seeing Hana recite compared to Shura Saionji's recitation. Both amazing in their own ways. Loved the smiles too. We also see a flashback scene? Are they sisters? childhood friends? idk but it seems they might know each other somehow. Also Yuri bait early in the morning. Then we end on the going to the tournament.

Overall I enjoyed this. The visuals were good and I enjoyed the characters. Solid 7/10 I would watch another season

This was the underrated/hidden-gem of the season for me. I had no expectations coming into this anime, but was pleasantly-surprised about the series. I can’t wait to see a second season.

I see they made sure to use up all the leftover yuri-baiting for the end of the episode😂.

I too had a hard time rating this series since it started a little slow and had dull moments here and there but as the group got closer to the NHK Cup tournament I thought it got more interesting including the episode where the group got to meet other competitors like the talented blonde girl, Pokoko. Also, the last 2 episodes where Mizuki was basically kidnapped peaked my interest but unfortunately that meant that the tournament was not shown so hopefully a 2nd season or OVAs are made. Side note, the yuri-bait got pretty strong with Hana practically confessing to Mizuki lol.

I just wasn't into the whole family drama rescue thing these last couple episodes. I mean, it was fine, but we have seen that done plenty of times before. What we haven't saw, however, is a National Recitation Tournament. I was hoping we would see that for the last couple episodes. Now, I guess we have to hope for a second season.

I am very happy we got some much needed Hana x Mizuki one-on-one time. Their moment on the beach at the very end was beautiful. This series really need more of that, imo. I enjoyed the side characters, but they kind of book-ended the bonding between our two main characters with them not having a lot of bonding in the middle. The sakuga in this series was great and I really enjoyed the recitation moments. This season just kind of ended right before all my most anticipated events. Instead of feeling like a season one, it feels more like the first cour of 24 episode season. Like this one was just setting up the second half of the arc. So, here's hoping we get a season 2 to finish what they started. For now, I give this series a 7.39

I'm so glad Mizuki's brother stood up to his grandmother. The situation surrounding Mizuki's birth was so disastrous: treating her only as a replacement and dismissing her for not being a boy. That old lady was the worst. Good thing it all turned out well.

Huge respect to the voice actors for bringing back the lost art of oratory in this anime. Even without being a great connoisseur of the subject, you could tell how the tones and pauses changed: it was very well done.

I need a second season. If it continues, I feel like it could be a movie. It didn't get much visibility, but I'm hopeful. From experience, it seems like the tournament arc would be perfect for a film adaptation.

And about Hana and Shura, do they really know each other? If so, Shura may be the reason Hana became a narrator, but for some reason, she keeps their past relationship a secret. Also, when Hana mentioned that her father had abandoned her, I started thinking: could they be half-sisters? Maybe her father had another family? Plus, they've always looked very similar to me. I need answers.

Hana's performance near the end is as breathtaking as always. The anime staff sure knows where to spend all the budget.

And it seems to be hinting Hana and Shura is somehow connect. Since Shura herself said she has someone like a sister but she'll never admit it. So I wonder if they're related but separated siblings or just sibling-like childhood friends. Hmmm so many question yet to be answered.

Also, I can't believe Shura is her actual name? I had assumed it's a stage name because that's quite a bizarre name for a girl, but perfect as a stage name, since the name Shura represents a general sense of carnage and warmongering.

Couldn't believe that's the end of the show. Tell me there's a second cour to this, or immediate season 2 announcement, please?

The series was alright I feel. It excelled in animation and voice acting but the characters felt a bit dull, the pacing was off in places. I think notably outside of An, none of the side characters really got all that much development, the show wants us to believe in the unbreakable bond between the broadcasting club but I never really got the sense that they were all that close. Also the kidnapping arc was underwhelming, I wasn't expecting much from it considering it was introduced at the 11th hour but to have the grandmother who is evil enough to neglect and lock up Mizuki solely to protect the reputation of the family name, fold after having one poem recited at her, I just don't buy it personally. It's probably a 7/10 for me. Could have been better but it wasn't bad by any means.

The Mizuki family drama plot was resolved pretty poorly, the whole thing was just bad melodrama. If they never do more of this show it would end up being 12 episodes of setup without much of a payoff, I was really into the show after the first episode but my interest waned over the course of the season to where this is just another ok sports show 7/10 is about right for a rating. The Yuri bait is nicely done I guess, how can you not like swoony poetry recitations early in the morning.

The family issues was great, but then we don't have them in the tournament and it makes me wonder what was the point if the entire season was leading up to the tournament. I put up with it because I thought the character driven story would save this for me and it did, but I can't help, but to get mad at how frustrating it was for us to wait for the next season just to see what this season was building up to. I give this show a 1/10, because it sucked so hard that if season 2 is exactly like this. I'm not watching it because I don't want to have to live through this torture again. Hands down worst anime I've watched and Hana is just a boring and annoying character and in fact frick all these characters because they all suck.

Great ending! I was afraid with the whole save Mizuki that the ending might fizzle. Good thing it's only half the episode.

Mizuki was able to showcase her reciting skills to grandma, and I had thought that was the highlight. Wrong! The highlight is the Hana's beach recitation that parallels episode 1. Her recitation is juxtaposed with Shura's.

Whilst Shura's way is boring but perhaps technically correct, Hana is way passionate. I'm not sure if I get it, but in Episode 1, she seems to take considerable effort, but this time, it seems effortless. I hope I'm hearing it correctly as a result of her training because I have always advocated that if Hana can fix her technical errors, she would be able to express herself more.

Also, Hana mentions that her father left her. Is this a Chekov's gun?

To anyone who have read the manga,

Whole season was pretty much a build-up to the NHK cup towards the end (at least for the second half of the season iirc) and yet we end just before this all-important competition... Hate when anime do this unless a second season is confirmed.

At least we wrapped up Mizuki's arc but Hana's arc seems to have a little more to it given what was teased about her maybe being Shura's sister. But if they are sisters, why had Hana never shown any reaction towards her all this time since she clearly remembers her in that flashback scene in this final episode.

Mizuki's brother was quick to agree to help rescue his sister and thankfully this family issue didn't drag on as it was sorted out pretty quickly. Good on him for going this far to help his sister out, which she thanked him and congratulated on his upcoming wedding in return. =)

With things back to normal, seeing Hana and Mizuki hanging out together and having a sleep over was wholesome and cute. The highlight of this episode came at the crack of dawn, where Hana began reciting on the beach, while Shura Saionji was doing the same recitation while overlooking the vast Tokyo landscape at the same time. The way the scenes interchanged between each other was pretty cool.

Overall, like with others here, I do find it hard to score this series. Parts of this series does feel a little slow at times and some of the characters doesn't hook up the same way Sound Euphonium did. Having said that, the cast was still pretty good and the recitations, especially when we had the visual imagery and BGM working together, was always a treat.

For now, I will be patient and pray that a second season gets made as I want to see how Sumomogoaka's Broadcasting Club gets on as a whole at the Kyoto preliminaries.

Okay, since it's obvious from this episode that Hana and Shura/Saionji are related, I’d like to point out that their cryptic relationship was foreshadowed early in the manga but was omitted in the anime. Hana knew her mom would be sad if Saionji appeared on TV, so she only secretly watched and admired her. As for why her memory of Shura was gone, it’s still a mystery.
