Didn't surprise me that dungeon had some dark secrets and startling discovers. Bell and his group is lucky and unlucky to be there.

Quite a nasty snake down there yikes. This episode felt like it's more survival with emotional mixed feelings.

Ryu's calamity only makes her presence stronger in the face of Bell's adversity, but you can't blame the fact that Bell is always the plot mover at the right place at the wrong time, though this time is definitely one of those essential times where he should be.

Taking things one step further with his belief that Ryu did no wrong, it's the manipulative monster tamer Jura that almost got them both, and the same story carries with the adventurers under Turk working for Jura's motive against the rest of the Hestia Familia, with the Knossos-brought giant snake monster Lambton stolen from the deeper floors that Season 3's Ikelos Familia incident that as Ouranos predicted, is not an isolated case.

Regardless of the emotional turmoil and debauchery, the Hestia Familia working together to counter Lambton's advance and stop it in its tracks, to Cassandra, this isn't the "Great Disaster" that she's thinking of just yet, but rather the endeavor of trapping the Hestia Familia in the Great Falls, forever. That's Jura's plan in the making for 5 years, and his ultimate revenge against Ryu for eliminating his Familia.

Cassandra's "Great Disaster" has come: the ultimate destruction that's heaps beyond their imagination. What an epic cliffhanger.

Ha ha, great moment to do the cliffhanger, the moment we've been waiting for since this season was announced. I hope we can see them using a bit more budget for the animation from this point on.

They've done a good job showing Ryu's OOC fury in these past couple of episodes. Considering her back story with Jura, nothing less than absolute rage is warranted.

I hope the animation in this episode was at this level because they were saving budget for the next fight. This episode fight was disappointing.

While I would've really liked this season to be more above ground rather than 99% on the same 2 floors making it feel like a Hack & Slash anime, I do like that there is finally some real danger in this episode.
While most episodes so far have felt kinda stand alone and not really progressing the story of Bell, his friends and the gods. Now it seems like there is at least some exciting stuff in the next episode.

This is the first episode that makes me excited for the next one in this season.

Hopefully the last few episodes will be as thrilling as this one.

Definitely a set up episode for next week's supposed tragedy. We finally got the answer from Ryu whether or not she killed the man in Riviera, which of course she didn't. When then come to find out that Jura and Turk had staged everything in Riviera in order to slow Ryu down from catching Jura.

A fight breaks out between Ryu and Jura with Bell obviously joining Ryu's side. However, Jura is a beast tamer and with the help of magic items, him and his group were able to capture and tame deeper level beasts and bring them back to Knossos. Jura uses one of these serpent-like beasts called a Lambton to fight off against Ryu and Bell.

All the while, the rest of Bell's party are off against Turk and the rest of the evil-doers. However, Turk is also a beast tamer and he has also brought a Lambton to help him. The party is then pushed into a corner to defend for their lives against the Lambton, allowing Turk and his team to escape. Bell and Ryu, as well as the party members are able to defeat the Lambton's after a hard fought effort on everyone's side.

After speaking to a defeated Jura, Bell and Ryu realize that Jura and the Lambton's were just a distraction to allow Turk and the other baddies to place blazerocks all over the pathway of the Great Falls entrance. Turk ignites them causing a huge explosion that almost kills our favorite characters. Although they were able to dodge this current disaster, a far greater calamity is to come according to Cassandra and her oracle powers. At the end of the episode we see that the floor boss has awakened and Ryu has lost all hope in surviving what's to come next.

I'm SUPER excited for next week's episode. I hope to see a huge battle sequence with amazing animation and speed. I also hope to see the tragedy that Cassandra speaks of, but I believe we will get our first look at the floor boss, which is pretty exciting in itself.

Well another intense episode and judging from the cliffhanger it's not the end of the intense history.
Shamefully it's also not the end of disturbing characters, the bad guy this time is pretty sickening and a bad character in my opinion one who will be pretty forgettable in the end.
Personally i hope he will be taken care of fast but we will have to see in the next few episodes.

Anyway everyone is in trouble now so hopefully they will work together on this if they can.

This episode really shows a lot. Bell is not an idiot after looking into an item. Then now. The real plan came about. The distraction with the Snake monsters was to summon a far worse calamity using the explosive rocks. Ryu being in fear telling Bell that he has to run. Not looking good now.

Yes of course it was to expect that it wasn't the elf's fault but the one that got attacked who planned everything even controlling a worm from the deeper levels thanks to that forbidden item and making everyone believe it was the elf's cause for all the kills etc, though the worst is coming now :S

A good episode, all things considered..
Ofc the bad guy was the bad guy.. a typical shounen clichè
I almost got worried when Aisha and the gang defeated a monster without getting brutally injured lmao.. then I was relieved to see that it was a mini boss and they have yet to get their ass beaten and the day saved by our Lord and Savior Bell Christ

It's an awesome episode, everything seems smooth for me, the fight scene and the tension was great. Most importantly, Ryuu's VA (Hayami-san), her voice act really highlights this ep.

Awesome episode. Hayami Saori was awesome showing Lyu's emotions though her voice acting. I hope they don't rush this like the Moss Huge cuz this upcoming beast is a hell of a monster just to be rushed to adapt. Looking forward to an awesome next episode judging from how well adapted they're starting with this episode.

Jura being the culprit was to be expected. He really played the role of the victim way too well to be believed. But it seems more members of Evilus survived Ryu's hunt for them than we thought. But bringing up monsters from the deep floors huh that was a cunning move. Jura really gives beast tamers a bad name with his actions. In this situation Aisha's experience leading from the front really was a boon to Lili's team. Still looks like the enemies true plan is even more extensive with them summoning the one monster that even Ryu fears. Overall an excellent ep that did well to showcase just how diabolical members of the Evilus are with their plans and the lengths to which they would go to eradicate those that oppose them. Quite curious to see the monster that wiped out Ryu's familia.

So Ryu didn't kill that man in outside of the dungeon, but she did a number on Jura, who turned out to be a bad guy monster tamer. Jura summoned a snake monster, but that was only a distraction so that he and a bunch of other monster tamers to trigger a juggernaut type monster to kill Ryu and exact his revenge. Will they escape the dungeon with their lives in tact?

Bell's belief in Ryu being innocent paid off. Having done that, Jura, the guy who Ryu was after, finally showed his true colours and unleashed his weapon at the same time his ally used a similar whip weapon, summoning two deep floor snakes, one to fight against Bell and Ryu, and the other to take on the rest of the team.

The animation quality was very impressive, once again. Both snakes were 2D animated without any CGI and their movements looked great, as was how Bell and Ryu fought against the snake that was after them. Same goes for the others, where Haruhime's powers and the right type of field was enough for them to hold their ground before Aisha dealt the fatal blow on the other snake.

Sadly, all of this was a diversion, which gave Jura enough time to enact his plan five years in the making, all to get revenge on Ryu for ending his old familia. This is the great disaster that Cassandra had feared would happen and that's is whats happening now. Here's hoping the production values stays at this level to showcase how strong this new enemy is. =)

That's something you should be able to figure out yourself, but I'll answer it for you anyways. In their position, trying to take Jura himself out would be far easier said than done, as he would use his whip weapon to make the snake come to him, as it moves much faster than both Bell and Ryu. Even after that, they're not the type of guys to "kill first, ask questions later", either. For me, they lost out on their opportunity to stop Jura's plan from initiating when the two snakes came into play, so it was damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I swear Bell is the epitome of a simp. I remember when this show was about his climb out of mediocrity and striving to improve, not his eternal quest to cry and scream about how every random cow he meets is muh queen.

3/10, I can only hold onto hope that there's a bit of spectacle to enjoy, because there's nothing objectively good here.

For what it's worth, killing Jura wouldn't really have changed much, they wouldn't have had time to go stop Turk.

Now, if Aisha had actually stopped Turk last episode, it would be different.

As a light novel reader, what i enjoyed the most in this episode is the audio. Spooky sounds indeed from the Dungeon, and Ryu's voice actor killed it!

Bell needs to stop protecting Jura man. Like, assuming everyone survives whatever is about to happen, you really think this dude is just going to stop? He'll probably find some other crazy ass plan. Just put him out of his misery.

Otherwise, Ryu's wind spell looked rather unimpressive, all things considered. Bell's firebolt always looks really cool, so I was expecting something even better from Ryu. I didn't feel the impact I wanted from her various, slow moving orbs. Even Aisha's pseudo-Getsuga Tenshou seemed far grander.

So I guess we're about to go up against the very soul of the Dungeon itself? Or like, an avatar of the Dungeon? Seems sorta like the Destroyer or Warrior from Borderlands. I'm looking forward to it.

Crazy episode. I like how the bad guys destroyed the Dungeon knowing that it has a self awareness. And that it will have to fix itself.

Big fucking snake incoming though.

Episode was okay. Glad we got some detail on how they were able to plan this, although think its skeptical Lion would hear about the cat dude from her place in the restaurant. if they knew her position there feel like they should have come up with a hostage situation or something instead. Then again Lion going to be pretty traumatized that the Despair monster is back, although I hope they give some backstory on how it killed her familia in the first place. Wish the cat dude and Bell would have some personal traits that made them more unique in character.

If i remember correctly, in episode 6, it was shown that Ryu was accompanying the subjugation team with Asfi (Hermes Familia) as well as Loki familia (not shown but mentionned in the anime i think? for sure mentionned in the novel at that point).
While they were clearing Knossos, that's when they found some survivors from Ikelos familia presumably, and Ryu regognised Jura with them. That's when she split from Asfi.
So, she didn't particularly hear about Jura from the tavern, it's just that Asfi asked for her help, and said that the job might have connections with Evilus.

... Why didn't she try to kill Jura immediately? Ill have to rewatch cause that makes this latest episode and Jura's scheme bull shit because that would mean they met again on coincidence and yet somehow Jura had the entire thing planned ahead.

He made some generic plan to have revenge on her, but he wasn't quite ready to make a great setup, so he had to improvise. They were in the process of leaving Knossos and got found out. As we saw they had a bunch of deep level monsters already captured. They also already had the bombs. And he said he'd been researching how to summon the monster for 5 years.

So after he saw Ryu start to chase him, he presumably lost her in the maze, then went right away to levels 25-26-27 to prep for what little time he could. Turk then killed Jean in Rivira after Ryu questionned him.

And here we are. Get Ryu down here. Blow up the bombs. The rest with the adventurers and the lambtons is bonus improv.

Takes a while to acquire said resources and get a team together though. I thought they said the werewolf had been there for quite a while. Guess that safe level could have just been where he lives but still find it disappointing.

To be clear, he was living in Knossos with Ikelos familia, but Bell kinda ruined that last season. His accomplices aren't from his familia, cause he was the only survivor 5 years ago. Thoses guys were just living among the regular population in Rivira.
