Everyone thinks it is other folks in the road that are bad drivers, but you can be honest here.

Are you good at driving? Parking? Are you cautious kinda driver or a gotta go fast kinda driver?

If you do not know how to drive, do you want to learn?

I think I am in the middle. I know what I am doing, but I could probably make a mistake every once in a while. Then again, I've only been on the roads for a year so maybe that'll change.

Confident, yet cautious and will only flex speed if I’m in a rush. I think I’m an excellent driver but I get impatient with timid, unsure drivers and will go around them. Not afraid to pull a U-ie. Parallel parking and backing into spots is a piece of cake for me but right now with the car I currently have, I suck at pulling forward into spots lmao. Always crooked..

I'm bad driver due to not following speed limits in routes that are familiar. And I get road rages. Parallel parks aren't that bad, but I avoid it when driving a van. At one point driving with a trailer attached wasn't an issue, but it's been so long I'd need to practice a bit. I also need to drive wheel loaders, but with those I'm really cautious.

Used to drive my previously owned couple of sports cars at 140mh+ on the highway (back in the late 90s - mid '00s) thinking it was a cool thing to do.

(Now I drive an old small car but overall I'm not into cars anymore for years now)

Yeah, for sure. I always think unsure drivers are newbies and try being more patient, but then I pass them and they look like they are 50 lmao

I'm way better at driving cars than motorcycles, which sounds worrisome since cars have airbags and with motorcycles, you are the airbag. I believe this stems from my Dutch blood: being daredevil cyclists is our national heritage. What's a motorcycle if not a cooler but deadlier bicycle?

That aside, yes, I do consider myself a good driver who's gotta go fast more often than he should... But I've been driving an electric car for a couple of months now and I actually like it, so I guess that makes me the worst of drivers by sheer optics.

I don't drive everyday everywhere though, because dealing with this city's traffic that often would 100% drive me crazy. Yay for a great subway system and having two working legs, but in hindsight I've been taking the car out more often these days with no rhyme or reason. Wait, have I gone crazy already?

Yeah, I can relate. Every time I take my father for a ride I forget how to drive well. And I even work driving, makes no sense.

Depends on the electric car. Most are ok, but tesla makes folks not only bad drivers but bad people too. It is the truth.

i am a very twitchy driver and i tend to brake late and fast. i also like driving cars which are very responsive which makes this even worse.

but when theres other cars around i also drive a bit like an old person, slow and not aggressive, and i try to avoid being next to another car (got hit cus of that once). i will always follow the speed limit unless the flow of traffic is way over it, havent ever been pulled over and never want to either. i also dont get road rage anymore

im also awful at parking and have dented other cars. but ive been dented too so all is balanced. in a parking lot i will always park far away so i can have an easier time.

I don't drive. I'd like to learn one day, but it's too expensive. Doing all the exams, getting the licence, purchasing a vehicle, maintenance... my income has to increase before I could even think of it.

Fam relax. Your father trusts you if you can drive his car. My father never let me drive his car and I am over 30.

Suburu :) but it’s honestly not a fast model nor does it accelerate that quickly. I used to be a lot more wreckless and drove fast when I was younger so sometimes I fall back into that but tbh I’m a lot more tame and safety focused now, which is good.

Oh fun! Subaru was my go-to for a number of years. Had two Legacies and an Impreza. Would get again, but I'm onto Hyundais for now. Next will be some sort of mid-life crisis two-seater...something silly and impractical.

Just good to know you can flex speed when you need to.

The "I don't drive, I don't own a car and never did my driver license" -one.
If you are not living in the middle of nowhere, having a car is just about status symbol and stuff. It's really expensive and an environmental pollution too.
I mean, if you need it, it can't be helped, but I live in the middle of a big city.
I have a friend from the landside who owns a car and wtf, shit is so expensive.

I was a reckless driver who raced on public roads and in public tunnel systems all the time, and took a lot of dangerous risks. Over the years I've had at least 3 friends die in car accidents. Now that I'm in my 30s and have an expensive car, I don't care to take risks.
it's funny to me how 3 of your friends died and yet the reason you gave for not taking risks anymore is that your car is expensive. This is truly the sort of stuff that I'd expect someone who recklessly endangers his own life and the lives of others to say.

anyways, I'm a pretty defensive driver. Life is too short already and there's too many stupid ways to die. I don't need to tempt fate further.

Don't worry, my friends. I didn't give Muskrat a single cent, except for all those times I used paypal.

Also, since aesthetics were brought into question, I must reluctantly stand by the decent enough design of the Hyundai Kona. You warm up to those goofy slanted headlights over time!

It's a long term rental, by the way. I don't own one. If I were to buy one, I probably wouldn't buy an EV, at least for now.
