Yep, I did. It was fine, I guess. My one flex, though, is that I got more scholarships than anyone else there.

I had friends back then, so, yeah, I did; same for senior prom.

...Also, COVID wasn't a thing in 2008 and I realized that most people here are zoomers, so, um... I'm probably not an intended audience member for this thread.

We don't usually have a graduation ceremony here, or at least during my time, there wasn't. People just go to their school one day, collect all their stuff and go home. That's the normal procedure. Though, we have had a farewell celebration. It was just a disaster as I recall.

Yes, as it is a good manner for attend, but obviously sometimes people can't cause of something. Was boring, took my graduation and later took my results of MATURA exam (which is the must for being able to apply to college).

I did yes, that was in 2017. It's kinda mandatory because the easiest way to get the papers and whatever else stuff. I didn't have a graduation party after that though because I don't really like parties, especially if it means me being the center of attention. Many relatives seemed to be kinda disappointed though that I didn't have a party.

no, because there wasn't such a thing as high school graduation event in 2005 italy. I just went to its office a couple of weeks after the final exams and had the piece of paper printed, nothing more. Realizing i was done with my school career for the rest of the lifetime was already satisfiyng enough, even if in that moment i knew i would have soon had to deal with giving the bad news "i won't go to university" to my parents.
Also, there was no high school prom or nothing similar, and even if it already had existed (i noticed that in more recent years they began happening here and there in this country too, including at my former h.s.) i would have skipped it for very obvious reasons, staying home in my bed holding back tears in my eyes because of how much i was a real pathetic loser without redeeming qualities. Lol.

I'm not really sure. We had a leavers asembly which was sort of a snooze fest. Apart from when the religous studies teacher did some sort of death metal scream into the microphone which woke me up. We had a prom which I attended. That was also a snooze fest. The music was awful and all you could drink was redbull. Other than that the only two times I ever saw people from high school was when we went to collect our results and I just collected them and left the room. I enjoyed my time in high school but I wasn't all that smitten with anyone.

Yes, and It was shit. I thought that I was not going to be approved, since I did not study for the last chance I had to pass on Biology and Physics. Since I thought that I was not going to make it, I did not tell my parents about the graduation, but I said that I would go to my friends' graduation. On the day of the graduation a few hours before it, my school called my parents to say that I was approved and that I could go to the graduation, my parents thought that I did not tell them about the graduation because I would be ashamed of presenting them to my friends, they ended not going to the graduation since they only got to know about it just a few hours before it. My parents were really mad at me, and I did not have the courage to tell them that I did not tell them because I thought that I would have to do the last year of high school again.

Yeah, I had it at a college though so it was probably much more interesting than what it would have been if I stayed at the school campus.

I moved away from where my high school was so it was a pain to try and get off work to drive 3 hours to a school to see people I haven't seen in 10 years.

It wasn't too bad but I dropped out after a year lol. I went to culinary school though so my experience wasn't the normal college experience. You learn more working at a restaurant than school unless you want to do pastries mainly.

Sadly only went cause my parents wanted me to but if it was my choice I would've just stayed home. Having to sit for 3 hours watching people I don't care about or particularly like get their diplomas too.

I was thinking about people who hold the text containing their speech as in this picture below:

@Meusnier

Ah, I see. lol

I didn't, because I had only 20 minutes to prepare, approximately 17.5 of which were spent procrastinating. But I avoid holding a paper while speaking in front of people anyway. My hands begin to shake too much due to all the stage fright, and I look ridiculous as a result, so I always just try to memorize the main points and then improvise.
