I still can't fully fathom the events which have taken place during the Reverie and it's damn nasty that we get blueballed like this, not just regarding Im, but also all political talk we miss out on. I would've loved some chapters dedicated to some talk about the affairs of the One Piece world.

I also have no idea why exactly the picture of Luffy and Teach was there. Because they're the most dangerous pirates of the new generation or because of the D? We can only guess, but a connection to Void Century, the D clan/Great Kingdom which was in possession of the Ancient Weapons and the potential friendship with the Nefertari family(maybe?) are some interesting aspects in this episode.

@SuperRed It's been pretty much exactly a year since chapter 908 came out and MAL forums were down.

Well, I'm upset, again recaps, and I heard this episode they won't be a thing. The Reverie has started, I wonder whether it's going to end peacefully. The ending was rather shocking, the leaders bowed before that individual, who exactly is he?! Some sort of immortal creator of the government system? So many mysteries.

At long last, the ultimate threat makes his/her debut in the anime. This was one of my favorite moments in the manga from last year.

Despite all the good stuff, the recaps definitely made me not as invested as I should have been. At least hearing We Go again was cool. The Sabaody Reunion arc is probably highly underrated.

Finally HE makes his appearance, the lurking legend. At last we know that there is some major villain hiding in the shadows that are even above the gorusei. How ever i do feel very bad about anime fans since this arc was one of the best in the manga. To see it reduced to this is just unfortunate. I wish anime only fans can understand this and try to enjoy it for its canon moments. That is really all i hope. Don't let the recap/fillers blind you to what is really transpiring here in the story.

In any case people keep saying reverie is over now. This is NOT the end of reverie i garuntee you. In fact its only barely begun. It will return and when it does, it probably be in more full force. We already know this is going to happen. This little intermission before wano is barely the tip of the iceburg.

How ever for now, its time to start getting excited about Wano cause its starting very soon, though next episode is going to have more WB war flashbacks, count on it. There is no way in hell can adapt like 5 pages into a full episode next week.

Anyway i think that Im is the only guy who actually knows entirely what the will of D is.I think he also knows what happened in the ancient empire and he might also know the sins of world government and why the Nefertari family didnt become celestial dragons....We will know more about it after maybe Luffy becomes the pirate king.
This is just my opinion tho

So seems like we get a new villain, maybe someone who will replace Sakazuki and Blackbeard as the final one? Hard to be hyped if more than half of the episode is flashbacks again though...

Although imu sama is definitely a major new threat introduced in the series. I highly doubt he will surpass Blackbeard in the end. I think oda has always meant for blackbeard to be the end game villian that clashes with luffy. Although it may be some time cause clearly blackbeard wouldn't stand a chance right now.

I have been waiting for this episode since Sterry wanted to sit on the throne. Since then I probably kept mentioning how the arc got butchered. I loved it how in the manga one of the chapter is about:
"NOONE shall sit on the throne, as it is the symbol of peace, equality, blahblahbla"
Next chapter:
*some slim disney-princess-looking fella casually sits on the throne while the highest authorities kneel, and ask for a name*
Hopefully it wasn't so bad for anime-only watchers tho, I don't know.

Another thing I was looking forward to was seeing Im, and especially his eye. Probably many of us thought he might be Mihawk, or related to him somehow.
That wasn't a strong theory, and now we know that it's not yellow, it's a red eye, I guess it's not exactly a valid theory anymore.

Anyways, I'm glad we are approaching the Wano arc, but as someone already mentioned, there are like 5 pages left, and unless there will be a break, we got 2 more eps before the Wano arc. Flashback-time!!!

These flashbacks are getting super annoying! But at least the episode had a good ending. Interesting to see that the empty throne that represented the free world, was indeed not empty.

....And when we finally thought the flashbacks was over, then boom - more flashbacks! xD Next time I suppose there will be flashbacks of Whitebeard and the parts where he were participating in the Paramount war. I suppose flashbacks won't end before we get to the Wano arc.

So there is a "king" who is sitting on the top. He is plotting to kill Shirahoshi. Hmm, well this is interesting. He may want to keep the hatred between the fishman species and humans, but I think it's more likely he wants to get rid of her since she can control sea beasts. That's a dangerous weapon which can be a threat against the World government. I am really curious what Shanks said to the top leaders. Seeing Marco with glasses was unusual actually. He looks cute with them. Looking forward to see him.

Besides the fact we got flashbacks again, there were also some very interesting moments in this episode.
It seems the big discussion between all the kings has begun. I'm sure Luffy will definitely be a topic.

The craziest part for me was when the 5 elders met that "Imu-sama". Who the heck is this guy and why is he sitting on the throne? His eyes looked creepy (he has the One Piece Sharingan it seems haha). I also don't really understand the meaning behind the pictures of Luffy, Blackbeard and Shirahoshi laying ripped at the ground. Pretty strange.

The Wano Kuni arc is close. I hope it starts soon, I don't want to wait anymore >.<

You could say that the very next episode is actually wano, considering this small reverie arc finished with the last episode. But there is a bit of character world building before the actual act of wano commences and if they are saying its july 7th. Then yes expect alot more recap.

If you have not read it before. Prepare to be quite amazed. Alot of work went into this arc ambitiously and its clear that oda has been wanting to write this one for a long time. It will exceed and subvert your expectations like no other arc of one piece has managed to do. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Well, leaving aside that I was about to mourn the first 15 minutes of the episode to remember many moments, the remaining minutes were really interesting.
1. "Imu" ... Who the hell is it? The ruler of the world? I thought that no one could sit on the great throne of Mariejois.
2. Why did you look at the posters of Luffy, Shirahoshi, Kurohige and Vivi? Eliminate someone from the story? WHAT?! Luffy? What was it Shanks told the Gorosei? Ahhhhhh ... curiosity is killing me.
3. The Nefertiti family, by Vivi. I want to know more
4. It was very funny that they chose the king "Ballywood" as president of the conference 😂.

La Reverie has begun!

Sabo had a small talk with the revolutionary army commanders and talked about when the straw hat pirates trained for two years and met at Sabaody Archipielago. The kings and queens of the kingdoms affiliated to the world government met and levely started. The five elders talked about Cobra’s petition to talk with them, later, they met and knelt to a woman in the empty throne (she had Luffy, Blackbeard and Shirahoshi’s photos).

Almost all the episode was filler, remembering what happened in the two years time skip, the only interesting thing is the last scene, I have no idea who that woman is.

I hate click bait titles. 'It finally begins' after 15 minutes of flash backs. Not that I was expecting any less.

That aside it seems we are finally getting to see the true enemy of the world. I have been deadly curious ever since Donflamingo said he had orders that went far above Sengoku. I am going to assume this is who it was~

I'm not sure if Im/Imu is shredding and stabbing these characters' pics for the pleasure of if Im/Imu is targeting them, but I'm gonna interpret that as Im/Imu targeting these characters.

Im/Imu is targeting: A yonko with more than 1 devil fruit power, and a new kid on the block that has been gaining notoriety really quickly. Both of which are part of the D family.
Aside from that, Im/Imu is also targetting one of the 3 ancient weapons; Shirahoshi AKA Poseidon.
But I'm not sureabout Vivi. She's not targeted at least since her pic is not damaged in any way. Maybe because she's a descendant of the Nefertari family who stayed on the surface?

1 thing for sure is that Im/imu is the one above them all, the leader of leaders.
If Gol D Roger is a pirate king, an advocate of freedom. Then Im/Imu is the king of the world, an advocate for control

It has been confirmed that the reverie will return and I am sure many of those questions and possibly even more clarification on the reverie events and political talks of the world will be the focus of attention when the story returns to that point. So just be patient, its unlike oda to not tie up loose threads like that.

Yeah its also the only arc in the series so far to be represented differently. Unlike other arcs in one piece, fans can actually foresee the structure of the arc and where the momentum and tension will continue to build as the story progresses. Also wano probably has to be the most unpredictable story arc in the series so far which makes for a more satisfying and rather engaging experiencing i think because its hard to predict whats going to happen next. Oda has consistently blindsided us more times then i can count.

They announced it during Jump Festa, but I still think they will delay the shift to the reverie. And I'm not worried that he won't get to it at all, but I doubt that we will get as many details as I would prefer( my wish wouldn't be feasible anyway) Also doesn't change the fact that the wait is killing us this time. He should've made the Reverie about 20 chapters long and delayed Wano instead, unless we will get crucial info which will influence our perspective on the current manga events.

One Piece nearly 900 episodes in:
Oda: Oh, possible final villain everyone

This mysterious figure looks so eerie. And why in the world is he sitting in the empty throne?!! Nani? I thought its vacancy symbolized democracy? So it was all a lie and he is the true king? Does that mean he has existed for nearly 800 years? Or maybe it is a she. Who knows at this point? From what I can tell this Imu sama has a particular interest in Luffy, Blackbeard, Shirahoshi, and Vivi. In the first two, I can see the connection. They both are related to the will of D. Specifically, I think they're more interested in Luffy because of the Strawhat. After all, they are keeping a giant, nearly-rotten, straw hat hidden away. That said, they don't appear to be a fan of both Luffy and Blackbeard. They sure took their time cutting the wanted posters to pieces. Shirahoshi is the current form of Poseidon so their interest is quite obvious. But Vivi? Why is she included? Is it because her ancestors are considered betrayers by the celestial dragons? Or maybe it is because she is somehow related to Pluto? Other than that, Imu-sama does have a gentle side. Look at how they're caressing the cute little butterflies.

Another thing to be noted. The 'light' that needs to be extinguished? So those 4 people in the posters/pictures were possible 'lights' and they need to be deleted from history? And I guess Vivi is the first one to go? Talk about bad luck and unfortunate circumstances. And what "great cleansing" is this elder spouting? The way he made it sound like it seems genocidal. This is certainly disturbing.

I have so many questions, Oda. You teasing us like this when you know full well we won't be getting the answers for a year or two! Or maybe even more than that.
