MALENTINE 💕 MYSTERY Brought to you by MAL's Cupid-nyan~ There are only five days until Valentine's Day, so MAL is organising a quick event to get you all into the spirit! image by Sakino Shingetsu  Remember in elementary school where we used to write valentine's cards for people in our classes (and maybe to someone special~)? We're going to do something similar, but the event is going to be broken down into two parts:Part One You are tasked with creating a Valentine's Card from one anime/manga character to another. The card cannot contain: ♥ The sender or recipient's name. ♥ Images of any human/speaking characters from the anime (i.e. a cat who only meows is okay). Your goal is to make the card's sender easy for other users to guess. For example: Once your card is finished, send Cupid-nyan a PM with: ♥ Link(s) to the MAL database entry of the anime/manga. ♥ Link(s) to the MAL database entry of the sender and receiver (character pages). ♥ Any reasoning for why you think the hints of the card should be obvious (for interest's sake). Part Two Once we collect all of the entries, we will create a game thread/form where the community can guess the sender and/or receiver of all cards. Even if you do not make a card, you can still guess! We will then rank the cards by: ♥ Most correct guesses. ♥ Best card design. Card creators can aim for first or last place in these rankings ;) The only prize offered is, as usual, bragging rights~ Card Submission Deadline Monday, Feb 13th, 23:59 PST (see in your timezone) Please send in your card before this date! Guessing Thread Posted Tuesday, Feb 14th Once the thread is posted, you can start playing! For image editing, you can use a program like MS Paint, GIMP (free), or Photoshop. Then upload your finished image to a site like Imgur (no acct needed) or Photobucket and send! If you need any help with your submission, please post in this thread. Does that mean that excluding talking characters, anything can be on the card as long as it relates to a specific theme in a certain anime? | @Kineta so there can't be any characters, means one may only use scenery, streets or objects etc, right ? then if it's from one character to another means it has to have some significant meaning to both of them in the story so it's easy to guess ? Making sure I get it right because I never took part in this >w< |

| Fun! I'm so making a card. So I will make a card whenever I want, as long as its before 13th, and send i to the link's PM, thats all? Are there any signup anything? And it has to be about any anime/manga character, no MAL users? And the editing can be of any level, right? From newbie to a bit more flashier? Is there a limit to how many cards I can make? And, can I put whatever text I want in it? I mean, does it have to be like the example card? Are this kind of pictures okay? There are characters in it, but you can see their faces not make out who they are properly, but this scene is iconic in the anime, so easy to guess. Do the have to be cannon? can I put my otps, or couples that flirt with each other? ie. yato x hiyori but they aren't a couple? They also have a big chance of getting together. Can I put characters like this? |

| Questions! -Do the cards need to be a certain size? Is there a limit to how big or small? -Is there a limit to digital cards only? Or can we totally get crafty with a card then take a picture of it if it can't be scanned or something (but is still able to be read)? -Do the sender and receiver have to be a canon couple (officially married, going out, etc.)? Or is it okay if the characters aren't married/dating but one character flirts with another sometimes? -Also, are we avoiding spoilers? I'm not sure which cards I'll be making yet, but as I think of card ideas I want to make sure I'm not doing something that crosses the line. |

| Events like these make me brainstorm too much :d I always get stuck wondering if i should choose an anime with obvious ties to romance or a more subtle one. If that isn't enough i wonder if i should pick a romantic relationship or the love between a mother/father and child >.< Agh, I will have to mull it over for a while and hopefully come to a conclusion T_T |

| Sounds like a good idea. I like that MAL is trying to do stuff for these special days even if the event isn't huge. But it does get the community involved. :) |
