Well, let's see:
- I dislike or merely tolerate the relevant characters, thought I've no qualms against Yuu. He's like the guy putting up with all the shit of the others & with Maeda's lack direction of his show.
- ^ I find the anime as a whole to have no idea where the hell it wants to go.
- I find the comedy to be horrible.
- The 1st half was composed out of find & stop the power-use-of-the-week eps and while I don't have a problem with those if they're enjoyable, provide some decent step-by-step exposition & decent characterization, they didn't do any of that here. Oh wait, no, they had some characterization for everyone besides Yuu. We found out that Takajou is big fanboy of Yusa, making for said horrible comedy, and that that moe-blob always uses pizza sauce in her food - if that counts.
- Said annoying moe-blob imouto get's killed by a throwaway random yandere character, but is of course saved later due to - dun, dun, dun...the Load Optio -er, Time Travel ability! So, I considered her nothing more but an annoying moe-blob plot device but I can still appreciate a plot device who properly serves it's purpose to a degree. The fact that she was brought back made her less than a plot device for me.
- Over-the-top edgy phase for Yuu(was the best comedy this show had), resolved like it was nothing by Nao's pizza sauce omelette. This ep as a whole deserves a hand of applause for one of the best unintentional comedy eps of the season.
- Oh, look, here in ep 9 one of the things that the show could actually do well, which is developing Yuu & Nao's relationship(got used to her by this point so she reached tolerable status). "Wait, no, fck that !"say's Maeda, "TIME FOR DA TWIST! I'll still pair them together by the end though, don't you guys worry!" But what about developing their relationship a bit more before that? You were just getting starte..."Oh to hell with that, this is all you get."
- Anyway, back to what's apparently the main direction of the story(for now anyway, must depend on Maeda's mood swings) - seems everything was planned by big bro. He smashed that Quickload butto --er, used his time travel ability to destroy any sense of tension that the consequences of him failing could give the viewe --I mean, to succeed in his noble ambitions! "Oh yea, we also need some villains or some shit. Bring out those two random corporate guys for a few minutes. Have big bro act like an idiot and send his untrained and VERY IMPORTANT TO HIS PLAN brother to save his friend, all alone. That should be enough to warrant a failure and try to force some more FEELZ down the audience's throats."
So, why am I watching this? Curiosity alone. It's an unholy mess of an anime that I just want to see where it goes. |
