[spoiler]Both. Sometimes reading a manga is the only way to find what hasn’t been shown in an anime. (One Outs)

I prefer anime pretty much across the board. For one thing, an animation allows you to display moving pictures, which I find very important when it comes to a story that contains fights or other action scenes. I haven't read a lot of manga, and there have already been countless times when I was rotating a page over and over, trying to figure out what it's supposed to display. Admittedly, that might only be a problem with certain genres, but I find it very annoying nonetheless. Another very important part (for me) is the audio - sound effects, voice acting, and of course music. They allow for a lot more immersion (better atmosphere) and are sometimes simply indispensable, for example in music themed stories.

Anime.
I only like cute stories that I can read quickly and then be done with in manga. Stuff like Hanjuku Joshi that makes me happy for an hour.
Anime is superior in every way for genuinely good stories.

Anime, it's just the best. Manga is for those losers that like speeding through their experience as fast as they can, ignoring the quality of the experience(even though you can technically watch an anime at any speed you want). Anime has music, voices, animation, color, etc that enhance the story, characters(and gives them more of an identity), the mood, setting, etc. It can also fix the problems that the manga had.

It depends on what type of genre and/or atmosphere you like.

Here are some you might like, My girl, Horiyama, Love Roma, Iris Zero, 20th Century Boys, Noblesse, Annarasumanara

Manga because there's a lot of amazing stories not adapted to anime, plus I like reading.

Anime has so many factors in it that can make it amazing or vice versa. The only thing that's better in manga is that you can read it in your own pace.

It depends. Recently, I've been reading more manga because it's more easy to stop while episodes take like an entire 20 minutes (less/more depending on what kind of show) to get through. And then sometimes I just rather watch anime.

Anime for obvious reasons like movement, music, colour, voice acting etc. And they all enhance the overall experience. You also get sound effects instead of onomatopoeia words like in manga, but they don't really make much of a difference. The only downsides are if the anime is an unfaithful adaptation or if it's incomplete when the manga is complete. Of course, this only applies to adaptations, and not original anime.

The only upside to manga to me is that I can read at my own pace. I also hear that they age better than anime. Manga can sometimes be a chore to read too, and there are moments where I can't tell what's going on or the speech bubbles don't specify who exactly is talking.

But if we're talking about original anime vs manga, then manga wins. There's barely any original anime I like.

Out of my relatively limited experience with Manga so far, the manga I've read has been much much better than its anime counter parts for the most part. I tend to not read scanlations so I haven't read as much manga as I'd like because its expensive.

sry but thats just one of the silliest things I have ever heard
There are many other reasons to like Manga more than to speed through it

Lots of anime don't have a satisfying ending and are just a teaser/advertisement to go buy the manga
Or the adaptations just suck (see Tokyo Ghoul) or could have been a lot more (One Piece the anime is terrible compared to the Manga)

So while I agree Anime as a medium is better (ost, voice actors, animation etc.) without Manga it would suck a lot

Yes but they're still not sound effects like a character's dialouge isn't a voice.

What original anime? Its like not even 10% of all anime
Most are adaptations be it Manga, LN or VN

You generalizing all manga readers as losers who want to speed through a story was just childish and silly

Or it's because of:
- it only adapts one third of the manga and not even the good parts
- outdated animation/art (like Lovely Complex which is just ugly to watch)
- misfitting voices
