I'd like to see the US completely utilizing the bullet train invention around the entire country. It would definitely make traveling around the country so much more faster and even more exciting. Opposition of distance decay at its finest, along with time-space compression. There could be the second railroad boom.

With that being said, what are some inventions you'd like to see in the near future happen?

I'd like to see interstellar travel become a thing, maybe setting up colonies on different planets and such, although that could take hundreds of years unless science advances.
I've been here way too long...

I want to see the full vision of Tesla's wireless energy dream come true, satellites or something floating in Earth's atmosphere that can deliver electricity to developing countries free of charge.

Interdimensional travel being possible.

How about a machine capable of transferring the content of your brain to a form of storage drive, which could then be put into another body so you could technically "Live Forever?"

Even though some Things like "Time Travel" or "Human Teleportation" or "interstellar/interdimensional travel" sound tempting, I highly doubt that any of them could be realized in the near Future.

First of all, about how near do we talk? Near enough that we could still experience it if we would be very lucky? Or not more than 50/40/30/20/10/5/1 Year(s)?

If we're talking about in a realistic Frame to still live to see, I would like to see similar Things implemented as OP: various Suspension Railways running through my Country+others as well and the Baghdad Railway being completely finished and safe for traveling.
It's kind of sad that we have the Means to make it happen, but not the political Power to do so and I doubt that it would get anywhere implemented in 50 Years and in the later Case with the Baghdad Railway, I fear it could never come true.

This is indeed true. While such are ideal, practical, and beneficial, the amount of economical influence also needs to be taken upon which might not coincide with the politics too well. I just wish that perhaps a second railroad boom might occur in the near future with the hope that someone has the power and is would be willing to finance everything.

The Willingness "to finance everything" is the Crux of the Matter. Even when it has that many positive Factors and could be more easily payed back than a few Prestige Objects like for Example Stuttgart 21 or the new Airport in Berlin, it just doesn't get realized and in Countries such as the USA, you even have to have more Money to make it happen and more federal States that could simply say "no, we don't want to".

In Case of the Baghdad Railway, the Demand and the Means have been always there since the Project was planned, but political Instabilities have been getting in the Way.

i read somewhere a while ago that about half of the next generation are likely to suffer from some type of cancer. not sure how true that statement was but i feel like it's ridiculous how many people have to suffer from it lately. the numbers how grown tremendously.

Nah, leave those Illnesses alone, because too many older People means less Money for young People and too many People in General means less and less Resources to share.

"Currently" it wouldn't even be a Particle of your Body (unless severed from you like a Strand of Hair from your Head) that could be copied.

but the thing is that more and more relatively young people get sick from cancer these days.
also germany has enough money and resources to do something for their young people but they suck at that.. so why not wish for a cure against cancer while i'm at it?

The young ones just need to live a more healthy Life.
Yeah, it could be better how the Money is handled, but having a Cure for an Illness such as Cancer is meaningless and even more dangerous for the Society imho.

I bet that People who really wish for that would have either only negative Experiences or can't see the negative Consequences it would bring or just want to sound cool, especially with the Cure of Cancer because of the other Meaning of getting rid of an Evil that plagues Humanity.

My bad, even though its not something that's done before, technically it's not something that is impossible in our eyes.

i'm sorry but i find everything of what you said to be bs.
it's not like cancer comes one day to the next. the previous generation has a lot to do with it and 'living a more healthy life' is just sooooo hard to do these days. it's easier said than done. how about you try to completely seperate your life from how you know it right now for more than a week from the life you normally lead. because we are so used to plastic and industrialisation it's almost impossible to simply not live in this world and use most of its things. also it has to do with your genes and what not. it's not like 'just living a more healthy life' would cut it lmfao

'having a cure for an illness such as cancer is meaningless and even more dangerous for the society'
ummm.............
have you ever had somebody in your family who died from cancer? have you ever seen somebody look so miserable and in pain because of cancer it literally made you sick? have you ever seen a person you love literally turn into a miserable slump of nothingness? somebody who was really capable turn into somebody who can't even wipe his own ass anymore?
how is a cure for that meaningless????????? how is that more 'dangerous' for society? i think it's the most important thing that people are happy. and i honestly think sickness is one of the most likely things to turn a precious life into a shitty one.

'I bet that People who really wish for that would have either only negative Experiences or can't see the negative Consequences it would bring or just want to sound cool, especially with the Cure of Cancer because of the other Meaning of getting rid of an Evil that plagues Humanity'

yeah cuz wanting people to get rid of their pain means you just want to sound cool....

lol, I don't panic; I'm only a little bit concerned because other Factors such as Deaths because of Accidents aren't that common and have in Fact even declined here in Germany.

And since Germany is going to have a demographic Problem (like many other Western Countries that don't have a higher fertility Rate like the US or France) and because sending many Troops to die in a War is unthinkable for such a pacific Nation, there wouldn't be many Options left.

Anyways; it's stupid to panic over a fictional Proposal, but being concerned about negative Consequences, doesn't hurt, either.

Yeah, but there are multiple Factors you could actively do to at least not die at the Age below 50 because of it. In Fact, when you have genetic Disadvantages, you have to be more careful with your Body. Doing something unhealthy like Smoking and/or taking Drugs and/or getting drunk can be completely avoided.

have you ever had somebody in your family who died from cancer?

Yes, but none died earlier than in the Mid 50s.

how is a cure for that meaningless????????? how is that more 'dangerous' for society?

Meaningless, because most affected People are old enough that they're in Pension.
Dangerous, because of demographical Problems

yeah cuz wanting people to get rid of their pain means you just want to sound cool....

There are People who think like that and it was only one of those Possibilities I thought of, the first one being accurate.

i think you really need to re-think your values right here. we're talking about human lives. wtf man.

And I think you need the Chill Pill and to take down the idealistic Pair of pink Glasses, wanting to save everyone from a specific Illness just because of having bad Experiences.
Yeah, I also wished that my death Relatives would have been cured, but at one Point you have to go on and accept it.
