Without me those titles would have sold one less volume~ ....Yes, only one less, I know x]. But wow; I'm participating in 10 volumes among the 23 light novels listed this week. I think that's the first time I ever reached such number. Almost bought claymore 26, could have had one on the manga side as well, heh. Still, nice to see those titles doing well. Horizon is slowly selling less it seems. Well, it has to be expected after so much pages I guess~ Bannou Kanteishi Q no Jikenbo still has the drama boost and No Game No Life the anime boost. |

Great to see One Piece at the top again, love the cover for it. Sugar and my man Senior Pink. Elsewhere I'm still saddened by Toriko not really increasing sales, if only Toei adapted the Cooking Festival properly, I will never forgive them for that atrocity. Nice to see Mahoukas Reminiscence Arc manga get good sales, the continued boost for Haikyuu is pleasing as well. Fairy Tail 43 hanging in there. On the light novel front very happy to see Reki Kawaharas new series Zettai naru Isolator have a fantastic opening week of sales. No Game No Lifes continued boost makes me happy as well. |

I'm also a proud buyer but we learned just this week that Oricon does NOT count foreign shipped sales in any of its charts. So while you and I really are supporting the work, which is the main point, in truth the sales only 'count' in these charts for domestic sales. I do not use a proxy so my sales don't count. Not sure about yours but thought I'd let you know. But I didn't get any of the novels in that list. And only Sankarea from the manga list this week. More next time... |

I'm buying it by having them shipped oversea indeed. But except for the place toward where it's shipped, there's no difference with ordering from inside japan. Are you sure that Oricon does that for every seller? Somehow, I'm not seeing Amazon reporting separately the sales they send inside japan and those sent outside for each product, taht would be a pain in the ass~ Are you sure that they aren't just removing/ignoring the volumes sold outside japan by stores who get their own stocks of japan manga/LN and so on directly? That I would understand. But even if that's true, it's not like it makes any difference. Counting them on the oricon chart or not would not change the ranking, and I'm still participating on the sale of the week anyway, displayed by Oricon or not. But the op can add one to those 10 titles then~ x] |

Zefyris said: They know the difference because they ask the sellers to report things about the sales. Domestic vs. foreign is not the only sort of thing they track. After all, they are not tracking sales for us, they are a business selling sales information to people who buy it in order to understand better what sells, where it sells, etc. so they better know how to market it, etc. ...How do they make the difference? I'm buying it by having them shipped oversea indeed. But except for the place toward where it's shipped, there's no difference with ordering from inside japan. But the op can add one to those 10 titles then~ x] I'm sure, it is from the source. They definitely ask for sales numbers. Not each one but for all sales, number domestic, number foreign. This is used in the other charts we see which report overall anime sales including regions. It is valuable information for planning purposes if you are in that business. Oricon pays stores for the information they get and they ask for the type of sales as part of what they're looking for. Amazon cannot chose to simply ignore this, and they know very well exactly how many of their sales are to Japan and how many are shipped outside. But I agree with you. It doesn't mean anything to me, but I will no longer claim that "one of those sales right there, that was mine!" because it isn't true. That means the sales were actually higher but how much higher, it is difficult to say. There are other reasons why Oricon sales are lower than actual sales, this is just a really small reason why compared to stores which don't report to Oricon at all. |

Vol.3 Lol that title length is insanely long and kinda dumb I tend to think that the title of LN is usually a collaboration between the writer and the editor. If the editor doesn't think that a particular book can stand out enough from the other books in a store, then it's more likely to get a title or cover that can stand out more. If you put the premise of the book right in the title, then it can draw a potential reader's attention before he reads the synopsis or blurb. For established authors this isn't as important as they already have fanbases, but it can mean the difference between making and breaking newer authors. This seems to be a sign that the editors recognize how oversaturated the market is. Fortunately, manga don't seem to have this issue since they're usually initially published in anthologies, so they can be sampled by potential readers in a less risky way (But then again, we've got Watamote and that Onii-chan whatever) |

Yes, stores not reporting are a far bigger concern in those numbers than foreign sales, foreign sales are most probably not even big enough to change a single rank on a single volume above/ Hmm, sounds convincing enough, thanks for your answer. It sounded a bit useless to provide two numbers of sales probably almost identical just for the sake of not counting foreign sales, but if they're paid for this, guess that's a different story. |

Perhaps a few people bought it just because of that. It is ranking so perhaps this helped? In a sea of light novels it is difficult to get noticed so a long title or flashy cover can help. Tough biz with lots of competition so every trick is used.... Something tells me the fact that Sankarea ranked is because of the recent announcement that the next volume will be the last. Unless my eyes didn't catch it, the manga disappeared off the charts not long after the anime ended, and I hadn't seen it since. Aside from that, good to see Haganai, NGNL, Hoozuki (anime S2 when?), and Aku no hana ranking. Houreki said: Watamote got a big hyped when the anime was aired and now... It's not even on the list. AO968 said: Not true.Something tells me the fact that Sankarea ranked is because of the recent announcement that the next volume will be the last. Unless my eyes didn't catch it, the manga disappeared off the charts not long after the anime ended, and I hadn't seen it since.... Sankarea volume 9 ranked twice in January 2014, 38K first week, 22K second week for total of 60K so this week is a bit better first week but I didn't check the number of days ranked so it might just be that. Sankarea volume 8 also ranked twice in June 2013, 28K first week, 26K second week for a total of 54K. With sales as low as 22K, second weeks won't always happen if the threshold is 25K then it would appear to be quite short. 28K first weeks might not happen at all when charts are full of Shingeki no Kyojin's or Haikyuu's ranking all volumes. |

XD Don't worry, it will surpass SNK in the long run in sales, quality and good looks :P Hear we go again, that always comes up :( No blame for the kid who looked older and knew what she was doing by prostituting herself? In this age,13 is the new 18 so her whoring a$$ should have been thrown in juvie too for taking advantage of him. |

The last volume came out in March. The next one comes out in October. How on earth was it supposed to rank this week? I know that. I was under the assumption Houreki was confused between Watashi ga Motete Dousunda and WataMote, the names of which kinda resemble each other, but are two very different manga. hpulley said: AO968 said: Not true.Something tells me the fact that Sankarea ranked is because of the recent announcement that the next volume will be the last. Dbz nor one piece can help Toriko. And stop making excuses for that pedo. :P |

I meant, even in 10 years time, a lot of people will remember snk as a great anime series, or they will remember it as one of the most overrated series. I haven't even look how much the total sales for toriko is, from the looks of it, it doesn't even look like it has break the 10 million mark, while snk is already 40 million in overall sales. but you should hope that toriko doesn't get cancelled. Thinking about it, forget what I said,Toriko will probably need to have 200 volumes to pass attack on titan overall sale.XD it's already at volume 30 and it cant even make 10 million in overall sales? While attack on titan is only at volume 13? lol No, your pedo mangaka should be able to say no to the prostitute. |

I call bullshit! if toriko did sell 20 million it would have been on this list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_manga and it was updated in April 2014. |
