| Probably the most important of the episodes we’ve got so far, showing ouken’s gradual descent into madness. Was actually a hard episode to stomach. Feel really bad for that family |

| a full episode this time for the backstory of Ouken the immortal he literally loses his mind the more he regenerates and then he was possessed by the evil soul of his father it seems |

| Very great episode, this episode also should have been in the main show, it explains the three brothers' past very well and how Ouken became like that. |

| Amazing episode on all fronts (animation, direction, story). Even if all 9 other episodes end up being more like episodes 1-3, this "season" was worth it just for this episode alone. |
| The backstory of the Underworld, this is where the younger brother Ouken got his start into the villain that he is, no thanks to King Desha butting heads with his brother Despa. Formerly a prince with ties to the brothers and fighting their own battles, the anguishing act of their father's atrocities has the brothers act in retaliation against him, though its true devilish soul almost got imparted to Ouken, which Desha thankfully counteracted by Ouken driving it out and blazing it before it got worse. The prince who has no superpower before, now finally has one of healing, which King Desha has no comments about it. Regardless, the newly crowned Sword King is more determined than ever, though his subconscious tyranny almost got the better of him, which he tried to warn both Despa and Desha that Satun's curse had inflicted Ouken, and unless they find a solution, he would become ageless and immortal. Coupled with Flen's sudden withdrawal, it's clear that the more that Ouken lived, the eviler he became through the soul impartation, which King Desha personally will face and supervise him. The start of the troubles for the Underworld, Ouken will not go down like this. |

| Good to see this covered. Always felt a bit off to me that Ouken's story was immortal therefore crazy. It's still kind of vague about whether his father got a hold after all, but there's something more here. Fren running off is also interesting. Don't think he had any appearance in the anime before. With how weird he looked, I wonder if it's cause he's a demon himself and ran after the head chopping bit rather than any opinion on Ouken. |

| By far the best episode so far. Glad ep 3 and 4 touched upon plot that matters. Was worried that this season is a waste of time cuz ep 1 and ep2 feel like bad fillers in terms of content. Now this backstory is much more intriguing. |
| Damn... That was a fantastic episode! Ouken's story is tragic. It was sad to see him lose himself and finally embrace his "curse". |

| This episode was amazing! Ouken slowly turning into madness was fantastic and the artstyle from when the old king was "possessing" that painting was great! Honestly it probably is my favorite episode from this series now but im also hoping for a similar episode where they explain the "Forest king" and that one underworld prisoner with the crown. If they made an episode of that then i will have 2 favorite episodes. |

| Ouken's descent to madness was tragic. Such a kind hearted guy falling deep into the abyss. Since we gout Ouken's story, hope we get Kingbo's too. Im still confused as to how he survived. |

| Wow, I had pegged this as a collection of side stories so I didn't expect to see an episode as serious and disturbing as this one. Hope we have more of these before the season ends. |

| Not only the whole Ouken incident was given full context but also the series director Hatta is back. Nice upgrade. |
| Excellent backstory episode. Such a shame it wasn't featured in the main series. Now I wonder if there will be any episode focused on those Devils. |

I guess some folks out there just want plot plot plot. For me though, it's the characters that made this series so lovable, so this season is an absolute treat—totally catered to me lol. I'm just happy to get more Ousama Ranking. It's just upsetting seeing people write this season off as "filler" when these side stories and vignettes add so much more to the already amazing characters who make the story as great as it is. |
