Oh my, Krone looks rather creepier than usual.

Norman continues his plan with the kids while they plan their escape. In other words, it's another buildup episode as usual as time clicks down. It's important to note that the name 'William Minerva' is mentioned along with a look at the book with morse code in it.

William Minerva? I think that he or it is mysterious....maybe it's a trap?

Well, Don and Gilda arguing with Emma and the others was nice to watch. It makes them more interesting.

Damn, Krone's appearance in the end was pretty scary. I really like her. She is so hilarious and scary at the same time.

Ray is the next shipment? Nooo

So the big cliffhanger at the start was just empty. Nothing. Basically clickbait, great.

The drama between Don and Norman/Ray/Emma was a bit too ridiculous for me, made me really dislike Don even more than I did already. He was reckless (as Ray said) and could have gotten everyone into big trouble.

So maybe next episode we will get to see what the outside world looks like (from the wall), that would be very interesting.

The entire dining room scene I thought to myself "How does no one hear all this screaming? This is a pretty public room..."
And then Sister confirms everything I've been thinking. She really scared the life out of me when she popped out of nowhere.
This anime is so good, every episode feels like 5 minutes.

The tension in every episode is killing me! I can't believe Ray is the next shipment... they need to get away ASAP! Also Krone is such a creep! It was obvious that she was gonna find them out sooner or later; they aren't being to subtle about meeting up at night!

That was the best episode so far. Gilda and Don finally learned the truth about what is truly going on. Meanwhile, the next shipment has already been scheduled and Ray assumes he is the next one. Sister Krone has discovered everything and proposes an alliance. Well, she wants to take over Mama's place so that makes sense.

Don and Gilda are really lucky to not get caught. Mama is keeping the plushies and some belongings of dead children in the secret room. It looks creepy as hell but may be there is some good in Mama, who knows. Sometimes Ray looks even scarier than Mama but he's doing everything he can for his two friends. And I hope Sister Krone dies soon.
Cuz she breaks the grossest character record held by Betelgeuse from Re:Zero

It was two different scenes. They just made it seems like the same scene so it would add tension, but yeah it was done in an unnecessarily confusing way.

I think the directing has been fascinating in every episode. It's just the horrendous pacing in some of the episodes overshadows that.

Intense episode!

Book part was misterious, i am curious to know what it truly is!

I am glad that Don and Gilda managed to enter in a secret room and also managed to leave without Mother realized!

Don was reckless, it could have ended in a big trouble, i didn't like Don's agressive reaction, it made me dislike him even more!

Krone's appearance was scary, kinda close to get me offguard, Krono proposing an alliance between them was really unespected, it let me with a clifhanger!

Great episode, Don and Gilda entered the secret room. Ray,Norman, and Emma finding the clue outside world. Who is Minerva? Phil is MVP this episode. Confrontation between kids is intense but they apologize to one another. Ray being shipped soon. And lastly Krone faces are creepy and she wants to make a deal at the kids. Overall the episode is great with amazing use of camera pan shots and music.

No spoilers but the last cliffhanger made me give in and read the manga. Happy to report that doing so hasn't much lessened my appreciation of this anime adaptation. I only wish this was scheduled to be 50+ episodes instead of a measly 12.

Another tense and emotional buildup episode.

I don't know how I feel about the cliffhanger from the last episode amounting to nothing, but did it? We've been seeing Phil a lot. That leads me to a thought I had...
Mom is smart, very smart. Smart enough that she probably has more than one spy and is keeping that from each of them. It is possible that Phil is the other spy, as they've been showing him more than the other younger kids. I could be completely wrong, but it's just a thought I had. Anyway...

Don and Gilda were really dumb to go sneaking around in Mom's room. OF COURSE she noticed you swiped her key, Don! Which makes me wonder how they got away? Did Mom just leave after that kid gave her the key he found? She clearly heard the door close behind the bookshelf? Again, she's too smart to just think "oh well, must've been the wind" so she's probably just waiting for the right moment.

The scene where they revealed the truth to Don and Gilda was really well done. The facial expressions were on point, and I knew hothead Don would freak out and punch at least one of them. I'm glad they made up though.

The secret codes in the books are really interesting and clever. I'm very curious to find out more about this "William Minerva". Clearly they have a lot of faith in the intelligence of the children there to decipher those codes so maybe they work for whoever owns those farms, which would gain them a very powerful ally if they're an ally, or alive at all. It could be a trick.

I'm curious to know what Ray was hiding under those foorboards, and what Normans plans are for the detergent and herbicide. Perhaps he plans to switch out the fake ones Mom knows about?

Finally, Sister Krone. Man what a creepy reveal! Well done, it actually startled me. She's a little too jovial at times but I like her as a villain, and I knew someone would catch on to them sooner or later. I think she wants to team up with them to take down Mom, but obviously for her own benefit. She's insane and should not be trusted! But it seems like they may be blackmailed into helping Krone at this point.

Aagh! So much going on now! I'm really excited to see the climax of this series. It's going to be insane, I can feel it. Between this and Dororo it's been a great year for anime already.

also. this episode actually made me like don more rather than less. i think it’s because he got angry, cried, and got over it. more or less a normal reaction and he didn’t go rouge and try to fuck everything up or whatever

Don and Gilda were fucking dumbasses but Don was right, y'all rly too harsh on them for the sake of Ray, Norman and Emma. The main trio goes around coming up with some trashy excuses and then expects everyone to listen to them without doubt lmfao that wouldnt work in a long shot at all and frankly speaking already caused drama so. How did they not realize Don and Gilda would check out the room after their reaction from the previous ep god. After reading the manga i realize their problem is that they kept underestimating all the kids.

Wow so much information this episode. I really like how they animated Don. It made me so emotional when I didn't experience that much emotions when I read his part in the manga.

Really like how they added Norman finding THAT under Ray's floorboard. This is a HUGE foreshadowing for a certain scene in the near future. Anime onlys... be prepared.

Also for y'all anime onlys, when Ray apologized to Don saying "I'm sorry for the other things" he meant trying to frame Don as the spy.

evilcorn said:

Go back to last eps and rewatch the scene where Emma drew the map. The space behind the bookshelf is connected to the washroom/bathroom. So they escaped thru the bathroom, left the key on the ground for Eugene to find. The director just didn't show it as clearly as the manga counterpart did.

Now I see what they r doing... manga readers at this point all thought of Phil like some evil mini boss lol and the production team wants the anime onlys to do the same.

U mean Don's breakdown? I actually really like the music at that part. It's hopeful, like the word they found "promised", just like Don revitalized with hope.

Probably the weakest episode so far. Opens with bait, reiterates the silliness of just how intelligent these children are with morse code bit, and is paced rather slow.
