Even Ruri's friends has an interest in finding stones! Or rather, Seto was able to find some by the beach even if they weren't really real stones. This episode did have some actual beach vibes. Good to know Ruri was able to help Seto. |

i love ruri's little SiO2 shirt she's wearing when theyre doing all this glass work. seto seems sweet. adds a new vibe to these three's dynamic. i love her little custom ED and how it shows her and ruri becoming friends. hopefully next episode, she'll feel comfortable with them. |

I enjoyed this one a lot, even when it wasn't all about rocks, but rather man-made things with minerals. Who would've knew you can make friends when talking about bottles (and not just drinking them)? d2rkest said: i love ruri's little SiO2 shirt she's wearing when theyre doing all this glass work. This detail was very cool. SiO2 is silicon dioxide, sand, that you would use for glass. And glass in Japanese... You guessed it: It's Ruri. So she's basically wearing a shirt with her name on it. That was just so awesome to learn. |
©2025 LaczPro What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway). And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea). |

πNagi The Goat!π Wow wow wow wow wow wow! Words can’t even describe what I just watched! 10/10? Come on, calling this a 10/10 is an insult to the work! This episode alone was movie-level quality—seriously, movie quality! I felt like I was watching a film, not just an anime episode! People might think I’m biased towards this series because I post its pictures everywhere, but no, I swear I’m not biased! This work forced me to fall in love with it like crazy! This anime is happiness, this anime is pure joy, this anime is the best thing I’ve ever seen! This isn’t bias, this is my honest opinion, and I’m saying it with all seriousness! I truly believe that in my 8 years of watching anime, I will never find something better than this! Woooooooow! Okay, before the opening! The backstory of the new character, Shoko! Wow! We’re talking just 3 minutes—and yet it was enough to make you feel emotionally moved, so that you watch the rest of the episode with deep sympathy for Shoko. By the end, when she talks about her dream, you feel like you are also full of dreams! You feel like you want to give everything you have to make your dream come true! I work as a doctor, and my dream is to explain medicine in a simple and approachable way, especially for Arabs—because we have such a huge lack of resources! Arab students are forced to learn another language just to study medicine! I want to build a strong foundation of resources and provide it for all Arabs, for everyone! But many around me laugh at me because my academic performance is lower than some of my peers. I’ve heard so many hurtful words—like that I can’t explain, or that I don’t deserve to be a teacher. I don’t even tell my relatives about my dream, because I feel like they’ll think I’m not fit for it. But when you see episodes like this, it makes you believe in yourself even more! And remember—we’re just talking about 3 minutes of this episode. Honestly, if I keep writing, I’ll never stop. I’ll cut myself off here… Our usual phrase? See you all next week with a new comment! Love you all! Keep smiling until then! π About the frames—I took over 100 frames! I felt it would be impolite to dump them all here, so… you can find them all here! Enjoy the visuals. Look for the ones labeled Episode 7! Thank you. As for the project—sorry, I couldn’t finish Episode 6, even though it’s simple, and Episode 7 too! I’m running into a problem: because I write so much, I’ve exceeded the maximum character limit for one comment, so I can’t post it in the thread! I’m trying to figure out how to solve this issue! Also, I’ve decided to replace all the images with GIFs. The process will take a long time, so I ask for your patience if you’re truly interested. I estimate I’ll finish the post before Episode 9 airs! Are you excited for the upgraded version of the post? @Rsma130 Well, at one time many medieval and Renaissance scholars were forced to learn Arabic to gain access to the works of ancient scholars. It's elementary because at one time the Arabs and Muslims in general were much smarter than the Europeans and preserved as many ancient works as possible in order to study them later and develop Arabic science. You have heard of Ibn Sina, who was known in Europe as Avicenna, right? Beautiful episode as usual from Bind, quite emotional too. Seto joining the group will be perfect since she and Ruri are the same age and can relate to one another. The way she looks up to Imari like Ruri looks up to Nagi is so sweetπ₯° Only bind could make an episode opening about a girl collecting rocks hit that hard π I obviously hated seeing people pick on Seto because she enjoyed playing with rocks, but that’s kids and sadly to be expected. Anyone who’s different gets picked on. But I honestly can’t be too mad at her parents for their behind the scenes comments. They probably didn’t know too much about mineralogy and with the cost of living and education going up, you do want your kids going to get in demand degrees so they can take care of themselves.. but ultimately what’s the point of life if you don’t do what you love to do? The way we see Seto looking on at Ruri and her friends because she doesn’t have any is so sad. She must’ve been so lonely until this episode. Speaking of which, random beach episode, but it wasn’t just fan-service, actually played a very big role in teaching us about glass today! I learned a lot about glassmaking, how glass ages and weathers, finally learned what those rivets on the bottom of a glass bottle are called, etc. S/O Imari sensei! What’s more is it’s really that you can see Seto hanging onto imari’s every word. She truly thinks the world of her and sees her as an idol. There’s a lot of unspoken emotion that gets conveyed in this one which is a testament to BIND’s animation quality. Even if she doesn’t say it, Seto’s expressions are worth a million words I love the ending few minutes so much because you can quite literally see Seto’s world begin to expand via her eyes and facial expression when she finds out Imari is studying mineralogy. She realizes this isn’t just a hobby, but something you can study at a very high level and make a career of and in just one day her entire life’s changed. Beautiful really. She’s finally got the friends she’s always wanted β€οΈ |

@RobertBobert Yes, but in the present era, unfortunately, Arabs are the ones who are behind! I’m not talking out of spite toward anyone or out of bias for Arabs only, no, no… I’m speaking seriously. Nowadays, proper medical study requires you to learn English or another foreign language! Imagine, there are 22 Arab countries! The only country that Arabized medicine—meaning its medical terms are in Arabic—is Syria! That’s it! All the other countries study medicine from English textbooks with English terminology, some in French, others in different languages. Even if you open YouTube, you won’t find Arabs explaining medicine except rarely—maybe one or two people—and with very poor quality explanations! That’s why we study medicine entirely, from A to Z, in English as the main language! And what’s even more disappointing… even in our practical training, like presenting a medical case to a consultant, they won’t accept it unless it’s in English. Meaning, even among Arabs, they communicate in English. My goal isn’t Arabization, nor to boast about our past—I don’t care about that. What I want is for the next generation, if they open YouTube or search for a book, to find an Arabic resource that matches their way of thinking, explains the terminology simply, and teaches concepts in a way that fits their mindset! I love medicine, and this is my dream! To provide the next generation with scientific material that explains things in an engaging and appealing way, in their mother tongue, with their own way of thinking—so that we rise again, so that we can create another Avicenna! So that we can say we exist now and not only 600 years ago. Thank you for your comment! Have a wonderful day, and may your smile never fade. |

@Marinate1016 Of course you knew, because I hyped her appearance several times in previous episodes, hehe. But seriously, how do you like her? Like I said, her character arc could easily be taken as a yuri subplot if that's how you want to read things. @Rsma130 Well, it's nice to hear that there are still people in our world whose goal is to improve and simplify the lives of others, rather than to become someone like "the greatest" or "the best". Maybe you will be the one who becomes the next Avicenna, who knows? |

Shouko have finally met her people, glad that she did not gave up on what she likes, and now she met a friend with similar passion and even shares a meaning of their names. The hardest part of liking something is having people around you that doesn't even try to understand. Especially when you like something out of the ordinary. It is a lonely path until you meet the people with similar interests. It's 2025 and I still feel that a lot with Anime and other things. I just finished Orb and watching this somehow reminded me of Orb again lol. That was an interesting lesson, now I look at glass with curiosity. |

New character, but slightly different tone this week with the focus on old glass. Well, yeah all you can find these days is plastic & metal cans. Finding even an old Coke or Pepsi bottle would be nostalgic, but I wouldn't want my beach littered with them! |

I really liked how this episode focused on Imari and Seto actually, their relationship is growing quick and I'm happy for them of course. I hope next episode is another comfy one like this one. 5/5 |

They really went all out with this episode to make Shouko my favourite character in this series just in half an hour. Less of an airhead than Ruri and in spite of all her inner struggle between her calling and the expectations of her family I think she is more likely to stick with it than Ruri. |

There we go, there's the last different color haired girl to join the crew. It's Shoko, a girl who really was invested in minerals from preschool but unfortunately people didn't nor her parents who saw it as a hobby due to its normal financial prospects. With that, she became gloomy but upon meeting Ruri and aiding her in her blue glass research maybe she'll be able to go back to her dream of pursuing mineralogy once again. This episode was lovely, not only was I not counting on learning so much about different types of glass from Imari regarding its history and composition but the way Shoko's mood slowly got better with the day gave me such a heartwarming feeling. This anime is hitting all the good notes and with the glass as a word being both related to Shoko and Ruri, this will be part of a new friendship (friendship, right? not like this will become Yuri Rocks any time soon... right?). |

@Rsma130 Right? This episode was lovely and really leaves you with a simle on your face if you had an interest, specifically a science related one and while trying to explain it or boast about it to others you get called names (or worse). Then you start to doubt whether it's worth anything in the first place but once you meet the right people or find the proper outlet like Shoko did with this beach episode using glass as a medium then the tears come right down as you remember why you liked what you liked so much. It's just beautiful and while for that it may not need splendid animation, I'm glad it does. |

Parents: abandon your dreams and face reality, you should be investing your time into something that will bring you profit in life. Parents years later: I wonder why our kids are so depressed and have so few friends? Good thing Seto meet Ruri and the gang and will avoid this fate. Too many parents today force their kids into doing what they think will make them happy instead of supporting them in perusing their dreams. |

@RobertBobert It's funny that one of the things that caused the Renaissance were Byzantines fleeing to western Europe near the end of the empire, and with them they brought old Greco-Roman knowledge and works that was either lost for centuries in western Europe, or that they only known via references, which sparked a newfound wave of interest over the classical period, and the rest is (Quite literally) history. |

@thewiru Let us also remember that a large number of Roman sources and materials were obtained thanks to the first excavations and collectors of antiquities in Italy. It is not surprising that it was in Italy that the Renaissance reached its peak and perfection. But yes, Byzantium perished, but its descendants were able to preserve at least part of the Greek heritage for Rus', the same Italy or France. Further proof of the importance of interethnic exchange and interaction. |

They really went all out with this episode to make Shouko my favourite character in this series just in half an hour. Less of an airhead than Ruri and in spite of all her inner struggle between her calling and the expectations of her family I think she is more likely to stick with it than Ruri.
@Ishitateso She is so much calmer & thoughtful. A nice contrast to our hyperactive MC. LOL |

The glass stuff was pretty cool, I like how they explained the value in something as seemingly worthless as glass. I also think it’s really interesting how a man made creation got a whole subset of terminology and science behind it when it spent a lot of time in the water, I think that’s one of my favorite things I’ve learned about the show so far. Seto tho? I like her, her moments in this episode were good, as well as the ones she shared with Imari, who became a bit of a teacher in this one, as opposed to the babe we’re used to doing the teaching, being Nagi. Only thing I didn’t like that much regarding Seto was how her backstory was done, like the bit with her parents was kinda silly imo, like they weren’t in the wrong or anything but I don’t think they should’ve taken their kid’s rock fixation that seriously, if she says she wants to be a rock professor then let her dream lol, it could’ve been a phase at that point in time even. But eh really I’m just nitpicking lol, overall I still loved the episode, also nice new ED for this one, really cute visuals, but I can’t deny I’m sad we didn’t get the usual amazing one. |

Another wonderful episode. The bit at the end between Imari and Seto really felt touching, especially after we saw how Seto got knocked about for her interests at a younger age. While I still regard how Nagi sparked Ruri's interest in mineralogy, helping someone re-spark an interest is something to cherish. This series still feels like the hidden gem of the season. Also, props to the ED with Seto. I wondered if this is a one off, but it was nice. |

Once again a fantastic episode this show hasn't missed once. This episode in particular really warmed up my heart especially towards the end. Where this shy girl who outwardly shut herself off from liking minerals is finding a group of people that share her passion. The moment of her as a kid trying to connect with others about rocks really hit me. Especially the parents part where they worry about your future and they don't want you to take something you love too seriously. The fact that Seto never gave up learning about her passion shows how much rocks mattered to her. Side note: I like how Seto is setting up to be Imari's apprentice in the way the Ruri is to Nagi. |

@curvedtree Definitely. I had a quick peek of it online and it looks really good. Might this have been the best episode so far? Possibly. Shouko is definitely going to be a good contrast to and an alternative for Ruri, especially for viewers who've been turned off by her bratty enthusiasm. Shouko is more subdued and should add that dynamic to the mineralogy crew. The end credits were a lovely touch and I feel like this anime got freshened up after this week. |

Early Shota was like Ruri in the beginning, but society knocked her down(but not out). So heartwarming to see her dare to dream the original dream again! |

Very cool episode for Seto's introduction, it's sad that she is passionate about rocks but her parents and friends don't understand that, though with Ruri becoming her friend it will change, she sure knows a lot and it was fun to see the girls studying glass this time |

Theanime is beautiful, and this episode was incredible. It's a gem, not only for its educational value, but also for the message it conveys. Fight for what you're passionate about, study what you love, even if people tell you not to... Fight and be happy! |
