What a brutal death, being sliced in half. Not that certain characters doesn't deserve it though.

It looks like Sophia still had some tricks up her sleeves in her fight against Makoto. It's crazy how much Makoto pushed her to her limits though. Makes you wonder just how powerful Makoto truly is this season.

Shiki's time to shine at last.

A fierce battle rages outside the capital city of the Limia Kingdom between Shiki and Lancer. In the early stages of the fight, Shiki struggles slightly against the fully restored and powerful Lancer. However, having obtained crucial information about Lancer from Luto beforehand, Shiki launches a series of effective attacks, quickly turning the tide in his favor. Meanwhile, inside the castle, the battle between Makoto and Sofia continues. Overwhelmed by the vast difference in their abilities, Sofia, on the brink of defeat, unleashes her secret technique that had once felled two high-ranking dragons. With that, the showdown between the demon Kuzunoha and the dragonkin Sophia reached its climax.

Work here is done. Good job Shiki and Makoto

Finally. I was getting tired of the perpetually-suicidal Dragon Duo. They've been desperate to kill him from the start for no reason whatsoever, and never once considered he might not be in all that much danger.

Guess our MC won't be officially reuniting with his upperclassmen just yet. Maybe next season if we get another. We can expect to celebrate the spoils of war in the next episode. The only powerhouses remaining would be the demon king at this point. The heroes could acquire more power, but it seems its intent is only to defeat the demon king. There's quite a few routes the story can go but I guess we'll wait and see.

It was a one-sided battle, but it was satisfying to see Makoto win the fight, and Shiki too.
Next up is the final episode, so what will the season 2 finale be like, let's hope it's soothing. Although there is a festival in the next eps. but hope there is information for the next season.

Lancer got wrekt, Shiki's greatsword looked cool. Sofia looked so desperate but she couldn't do a thing. I don't think she's dead though. Didn't seem like it. Interested in the katana she used. Wonder who was that. The battles over and looks like we'll get an epilogue for the finale.

@Stark700 Brutal? Was that rly brutal? I don't think so, I'm not sure if you have seen brutal deaths in anime but that wasn't one of them. Also the whole Makoto 'power' was poorly showed. Enemy that he fought Mitsurugi ad Sophia were useless as heck, I loved this series from 1st season, but after 2 season I was so disappointed in everything that words cannot explain. What was that fight with "powerful dragon" could only throw some sword and his sword technique was below 0. Also Sophia attack was cloned from Fate series and literally did nothing, she just 'died' doing nothing and Makoto just shot few arrows without huge enchantment and poorly animated. Where was that power?

Didn't expect the Naruto-like fight with the plane made of swords which was really awesome.

It's been an awesome season finale (well next episode is last, but seems climax to the fighting).

Also the end song is a banger.

One of the best episodes of this seson because it just does the job it's supposed to do - clean up the mess. J.C. Staff looks in good form.

The metal dragon lost his marbles and totally reverted to edgy brat so that he has no reason to continue his story contract with the author. Baka tomboy's fate is unknown, they don't even show her remains.

Also as usual...

LANCER GA SHINDAAAA!!!!!!!!

I almost cant believe Lancer and Sofia died that easily. I will miss Sofia, she was a bit annoying with her unwarranted hate boner for our MC, but atleast she was an interesting character to have around. And while she was around there was the potential that MC kun might struggle, well so much for that..

When the battles are this one sided its a bit boring, I guess it beats standing around doing nothing or having an entire season filled with pointless meetings (looking at Slime here..)

Usually when shows have been running for 2 cours and are about to end I will miss them, but really not this one, its just kinda there.

Sofia and Lancer got defeated on every way possible, I always find funny and cool when say a mage decides to fight as a warrior and beats them that way, same with Makoto saying he wasn't either of those but an archer instead, alongside Lancer by his name and Hibiki's berserk clothes + Sofia's Berserk personality and Unlimited Blades Sword Works this was the Fatest episode yet.

It's too bad the middle-school-aged shithead hero that brainwashes women didn't die in this arc. If only he were the only that got blasted into nothing or split in half from the head right down to the crotch.

Sofia: Unlimited Blade Works!
Makoto: I'm an Archer.

...Discount store-brand Type-Moon.

I wonder which isekai'd Japanese person died to become that katana.

So...did Sofia survive? I don't remember but...what was her beef with Luto/Root anyway? It's too bad Jin didn't get a chance to reunite with his childhood friend "Miranda" now.

I think Makoto become way too strong. I do not think anyone in the world be able to match him anymore.

The fight between Makoto and Sophie it just too boring at least the fight is more interesting with Shiki.

Too bad with the heroes Makoto might notice her but she does have some suspect about Makoto.

Makoto VS Sofia fight was amazing. It was worth a season wait. Shiki VS Lancer fight was what should have happened in that legendary Fate Faker fight. The OG always wins against fakes.

for what they were the fights were at least entertaining, but did we seriously need to drag this season out to make a bunch of curb stomp battles the finale.

at least season 1's final fight felt like a legitimate threat, obviously the good guys will win but make them work for it.

Makoto was completely ruthless and broke Sofia before erasing her existence, and Shiki spectacularly split Lancer. I wonder if Shiki has reached or come close to the power of Tomoe or Mio.

I didn't like Lancer and Sofia because of their unjustified hatred towards Makoto, but Sofia was an interesting character. Well, it is what it is.

Nice to see Shiki beating lancer with a sword. Despite being a mage.

Well death to Lancer and Sofia then. Its kinda a waste of potential seeing them both die like that, especially with Sofia. Thought she's gonna lower down her ego and escape from that shit bully. But perhaps there's something going next on hide, so let's see if jc staff still helming this series through the next season, or actually, not.

Missed Tomoe and Mio already. Abrupt change of side previously create such a hole and big question to them on that matter. So yeah, idk what kind of fate this tsukimichi series have, but let's hope for the best jc staff or whatever studio in charge doing a better adaptation of this.

That's it all from me and goes to the finale next already....

Good episodes. A little sad that we didn't get to see Sofia and Lancer regretting picking their fights at the last blow. Lancer didn't have a chance to, but Sophia didn't even get a final thought as the arrow hit.

If there were still swords in that place, is she really dead dead, or might she come back?

Lancer was meh although he made Shiki expend most of his rings so I guess that was at least underwhelming but Sofia was such an utter disappointment she was a mere annoyance at this point, ughh.

Oh well, maybe at least he made Fort Stella into another Star Lake...I hope. XD

So I've been reading the manga recently and I think the anime is alright, but nowhere near as good.
Season 1 of this show was insanely rushed as I suspected back then when I first watched it, and therefore alot of important detail was just left out.
Season 2 was paced more appropriately but they still kept leaving stuff out, like Makotos past, the other senpai of his archery club, or alot of conversation which just fill in gaps between scene changes. All left out for whatever reason. So this show has a big problem of rapidly shifting around without much explanation.
Another issue is the main character, but that much is also true in the manga. He's written inconsistent. He's supposed to have a messed up relationship with death, fear and pain, but he sure acts timid all the time for someone who is able to cold hearted kill and supposedly lacks fear.
But then in other moments he is exactly that. This flip of his personality was never really explained or even acknowledged, so I assume it's just poor writing.

Overall average anime which could have been adapted better. Manga is an improvement but I wouldn't say it's the next tensura or something.

Yes. At this point I believe the direction the animation team gets is just "fill 20 minutes somehow" and the direction for the seiyuu team is "just make something up about fighting all-out, trump cards and stuff".

4/10, dropped.

"Quality animation"? Are we watching the same show?

So many stills that are just panned over, fights mostly consist of 1 or 2 characters moving in front of a static background next to a few non-animated side characters, bland single-colored dog monsters with human teeth to keep cost down, MCs ulti armor is also a single blob that doesn't move much, instead of fights there are mostly scenes where opponents face each other for an unbelievable long amount of time (stills) and rattle down exposition monologues (that should've been shown instead of been told), ...

Or did I miss your sarcasm?

@sg_epk_1048596 ok maybe im bias and cant view its characteristics objectively, but I think its a pretty good show no sarcasm.

Idk why i like it, I cant stand most isekai's especially Mushoku tensei's romance is unbearable.

This show is playful and fun even though its not like a high effort quality production, it seems like it does well for itself given its budget its really not bad i also think the voiceacting is pretty solid.

For reference my favorite isekai that I absolutely love are Re zero and eminence in shadow

A bit disappointed (nah, that's a lie, I was disappointed since the earlier episodes, the adaptation really sucked)
Anyway, as I didn't get to see Makoto and Hibiki's reunion face to face, a bit sad, but it was still satisfying because of Shiki's epic battle with Mitsurugi. (Unfortunately, he didn't get to know than Shin(Tomoe) was serving Kuzunoha)
Sofia died, finally? I actually liked her and was hoping to see a successful turning-a-new-leaf of her by being beaten by her former childhood friend, but meh, the Author just trashed the supporting characters like they did with the prince who turned to glob and got killed by Mio. (Who was shipped to a girl in the OP)

So, yeah. Quite a disappointment that there's no happy ending from the supporting characters side. The score for me is going down... 😬 (They're killing the ships first introduced, all ships of supporti characters always dies, the Author must've hated romance since long ago)

Oh, yeah. Forgot that UBW reference. lol (Tsukimichi is copy-pasting nowadays in a most cruel way to its characters)

The ending for Makoto's epic bombing in S1 cannot be compared to the lousy portrayal in this 2nd season. His fight was meh and uninteresting for some reason. There's no impact... (The analysis skill is good and all but the wow factor were missing in a lot of ways)

P.S. I like the story since S1, I can't believe the story is getting to the bad route. (The animation is decent but the adaptation is terrible)
CrazyButNot4UJun 18, 6:31 AM
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Makoto destroys Sofia, now it's Shiki's turn to the same to Lacer/Mitsurugi.

Hibiki and her knights have to place their faith on Shiki being the mage lich defeating Lancer/Mitsurugi, and he serves all that and more to lay waste to his enemies, with the latter being one enemy who he thinks that he's a joke. Still, Shiki is really no joke, and to fight against a greater dragon like Lancer after receiving training from Makoto, the gratefulness pays off dearly to deal the final blow to him, thus revealing his hyuman self after a gamble of splitting souls to make up for his lack of power. Impressive.

Back to Makoto and Sofia, with the latter winning the bet for his remaining life, Makoto isn't fazed at the very least, even when she drags him into Lancer's Prison of Swords space. She couldn't have realized that Makoto is way more than that, initiating an immediate exorcism within that same space. Down, but not out, Sofia remains persistent using a particular Japanese sword, but Makoto has speed to account for his archery, and last but not least, to destroy Fort Stella as a whole, completing the goddess's quest.

This is easily peak Tsukimichi for Season 2 as a whole, but decent as a product altogether.

Am I that happy to finally see the end of this long-ass downgrade of a season? YES.
