Goodbye Mha

Sadly the ending felt rushed
@AramHovhanued What? We had a 5+ chapter epilogue, I don't think there was anything else to tell

10 years of MHA...

I remember picking this up back in 2014 and didn't think too much about the first chapter much at the time. The "you can be a hero" goes back to its roots and reminds us of the what the franchise is about. It's actually amazing how long this series lasted, almost feels like the end of an era.

Whatever Horikoshi's next project is, I look forward to it.

Wow I can finally mark this series as complete! In terms of impact. My Hero Academia was one of the series that got me back into anime and manga as an adult, so I’ll always be grateful for that. Overall, it’s a decent story with highs and lows and a decent ending. Thank you MHA, and I will be curious how they will try to milk this franchise out haha.

I also liked it how the chapter was started with +/- the same words as how the manga started in chapter 1 as a throwback ("people are not born equal") with some further focus on it.

i dont LOVE the ending. im not media illiterate enough to be like the nerds on twitter who think dekus had no contact with anyone for 8 years, but its a bit dissapointing to be told "the mc saved the world when he had powers, now he doesnt have powers and people dont hang out with him much, then the final panel when he has powers he has friends again". Additionally, im not a shipper, but Id like to see the follow through of Uraraka and Deku thats been being set up since like... the first time they met. my favorite part was all might crushing the end sign, that was neat. Through its ups and downs MHA was quite fun, sad to see it go.

Almost stopped reading when it said the end, and didn’t see the actual ending lol.

I’ve been very critical of the series since the MVA arc, but honestly it wasn’t that bad. I just wanted more from the story than it actually set out to accomplish.

At the very least it ended neatly and I hope Horikoshi and the other folks who worked on this go on to do bigger and better.

Bye bye MHA

I've been watching and reading MHA for so long, I'm gonna miss this series. While I don't absolutely hate the ending, I didn't really love it either. There's a lot of things I'd change tbh. However everything that came before it was still really amazing

A good but kinda meh ending, I know its not the last chapter but still. It seems Horikoshi couldn't make up his mind on what he wanted so he did both. Oh Deku doesn't have any powers but as a regular teacher he still encourages his students, but WAIT new technology means a new All Might can be "manufactured" or something? IDK about you guys but I would have been fine with it ending without any bullshit he gets his powers back. If you want him to fight crime why don't you have him team up with the tool specialist girl and he becomes Batman at night.

Whatever its been a nice ride regardless but I'll admit right here that MHA was getting kinda stale. I really enjoyed the beginning and some middle parts but this last big arc with them fighting the two big bads wasn't enjoyable to me. It's crazy to think this has been with me since the beginning of highschool and now I'm grinding as an adult in a full time job. Have all the manga volumes currently out and proud to admit that MHA was some of the first figurines I've ever owned.

Its just that I'm not bittersweet about it ending like I was with other shows or series that I love. My heart just isn't in this anymore and I'm kinda sad because a long time ago it was a big thing to me. But I'm glad its ending regardless of how I feel about it and it isn't becoming a zombie series that the creator milks for money.

Can’t believe it’s all over now. I would’ve liked to have seen more of what everyone is doing besides Deku, or at least a conversation with him, but I guess this is fine as a last chapter.

Ending was a bunch of nothing but wild to see it end after this long and with this many chapters being as big as it has been. Manga was never something I loved and while I disliked a significant amount of this from start till the end, the original UA Tournament arc was solid and the stuff with Stain was good earlier, even a couple moments outside were fine too even if a bit cliche. Not a work I'll particularly miss but can still acknowledge how big of a series this is and how that is another huge shounen manga just in the history books now. Wish the finale just had more to offer than what this provided.

This slog finally ends. The last part just dragged and dragged to death. The final battle was one of the most boring I've ever seen in any shonen manga. As usual with shonen, the first half of the manga was amazing and then went down the shitter on the 2nd half. It's basically just repeating topics and being unbearably preachy about what being "a hero" means. Tons of things didn't make sense and the introduction of the international superheroes as well as its implications were fumbled and wasted so spectacularly. The rest of the world just watching on standby while Japanese heroes alone fought a world ending threat is the most inexplicable and the most blatant narcissism I've ever read.

Still this isn't quite as bad as Fairy Tail or 7 Deadly Sins. It's very close though so I suppose 4/10 is fair, bumped up simply for the first half of the manga.

Well, pretty much what I expected for an ending. It's fine enough on it's own, but doesn't exactly make me feel much when this series went downhill so hard.

So one last time I'll say the Vigilante spinoff, while not without its own issues, is better.

Hori really made Decuck canon lmao
Ochako abandoned him and his friends mostly ghosted him for 8 years, then gave him a pity suit after a 8 years long humiliation ritual.
We've seen many people being heroes even without quirks but Deku just gave up as soon as he lost his powers, what a pathetic main character.

First main character to remain single out of Mainstream shounens main characters. At least Horikoshi break the trend compare to other mainstream shounen series. And I didn t like the fact Deku lost his quirk,Shigaraki dieng was a sour taste in my mouth and Deku end up not being as close with his other friends and back to his average joe life hits him hard. What happen
too him becoming greatest hero and being number one and being the symbol of peace?

Have to say Izuku has the most unhappiest ending compare to other main stream shounens main characters. He didn t really achieve his goal as he originally plan too and he isn t s close to his old friends as we thought

Positive thing about this chapter is that gift he got from All might and he can fight alongside his friends again as Pro Hero. This still leave the series open for a sequel considering this ending is another positive thing.

If they didn t kill off Shigaraki and didn t have Deku lost his powers I would give this series an 8 out of 10. But I have to give it 7.3 out of 10 considering the ending. As much as I don t like villians turning good and being left of the hook I feel Shigaraki should been given a second chance in life considering everything he did was him being manipulated and use like a puppet.

Of all the protagonists in a Shounen manga, I say Deku had one of the most pathetic endings out there.

SHIT ending.
-Deku lost his quirks and is depressed, even if he tries to hide it and look at the positive side, seeing our protagonist like that in the final fucking chapter is bad.
-Deku gets a hero-mecha suit, meaning that every normal person with enough training can become a hero just by buying one of those, I think that twists the "everyone can be a hero" in a real shitty way, also he will be forever weaker than everyone else so it isn't even a good thing.
-0 shipping, Ochako is using Deku's mouth piece, that hints to them being together, but it could also just mean that Deku gave it to her when he retired and that's all. The only thing Horikoshi had to do was put a little text on Deku's monologue saying something like "...I confessed to Uraraka on our graduation and we are together since then ..", or better yet, "...I married Ochako a couple years back...", really that was all, no need to even show them, but this fucking mangaka didn't even gave us that because he doesn't want the disgusting fujoshi fans be mad at him.
-I think EVERYONE knew this story was going to end with Deku talking to a kid with the same problem he had back then, so it wasn't even exciting to see.
-The fact All Might was going to die like 9 years ago, then almost got killed by AFO, and now 8 years in the future he is still alive like nothing, traveling and all, fucking sucks.
-0 info on Deku's father, or his true origins since his quirk was stolen as a kid.
-We got denied a simple ass "photo" of the class on their graduation, that's no fun.

I found MHA when the 1st season ended, I loved it, immediately started reading it, my very 1st manga, it was peak, really, absolute peak, but after the Yakuza arc it started going downhill, I liked the plot with Gentle but having an entire arc focused on their damn school festival killed the excitement. After that it went hard the Todoroki drama, and then the Villain Academia arc killed it, garbage after garbage, shit plot twist, a fucking war that lasted for like 3 years of serialization, characters that did fucking nothing (like that USA woman that appeared with so much hype just to be killed in like 2 chapters lmao).
It's not that I'm a hater of MHA, is that this hurts, it hurts to see a manga so fucking good go downhill so fucking bad, and the fandom, holy shit the fandom, disgusting, this is another franchise that I like but have problem telling people that I do because they immediately think I'm a "fan", one of "those" fans.

Horikoshi's art is amazing (except when there are crazy fight scenes), his designs are fun to look at, and the way he draws backgrounds is peak, but man, he writes like shit, total shit, it's like after the Yakuza arc he forgot how to drawn a good and original story.
5/10 Starts great, but slowly begins to hurt to read.
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

I'm not completely satisfied with the ending since I wanted to see more of class A as heroes. However, I also respect how Horikoshi decided to do a more realistic ending with Deku completely losing his powers and becoming a teacher instead, which is honestly not surprising, but with the new suit that All Might has given him thanks to the collaboration of his friends. Deku is finally able to return to be a hero alongside his friends but this time without powers.

I hope we can have a special of some kind to see Deku as a hero with his new suit. It sucks that we didn't see him in action once again but I'm glad that he was able to return to hero work.

midoriya did become the greatest hero right? my friend was saying he didn't cuz he's not "Number 1" but from what I'm understanding, he became the greatest hero cuz he defeated the most dangerous villian and also cuz of his actions the world was very inspired by him. but since he's not number 1, he's not the greatest. its very dumb to me

im still trying to fully process that it's finally over. i get that many don't like this ending, but for me, it's satisfying despite it being a bit rushed. i still have questions about dabi tho and i really hope that he's still alive, but i guess we'll never know. im also happy that the ship shitstorm can finally die down since there are no canon pairings in the end. the story wasn't a romance to begin with so im pretty content with it. i was hoping that Deku and Ochaco would become official but i think this is better.
i really love what Horikoshi did with making it come in full circle with that kid, Dai, running into Deku and having his "You too can become a hero" moment.
man, i hate to admit it but i got emotional. just seeing everyone grown up now; deku becoming a teacher, Togata being the no. 1 pro hero(nighteye would be so proud), seeing that Bakugo is still explosive as ever, eri's 14 now, La Brava and Gentle thriving, Ochaco, Yaomomo, Iida, and Tsu helping with quirk counselling, Deku being able to be a hero again, and that finally panel...i cant stress enough how much i love this manga and anime. it's what got me into anime in the first place. it has its issues and many things i wish were done differently, but as for the ending, i'm really happy with it.
so after 10 years of this journey coming to a close, it's time to say sayōnara, Boku no Hero Academia

A bit late, but it's still pretty weird to see that the series has wrapped up manga-wise. I remember catching up around when the Overhaul stuff was ongoing at the time. It's been a blast.
Mankind knew that they cannot change society. So instead of reflecting on themselves, they blamed the beasts.

Honestly, the ending isn't as bad as social media made it out to be. Hell, it isn't even bad by any mean.
I think all the characters got the closure and ending they deserved. No one was mistreated, no one got too little or too much. I really don't understand how so many can think that Deku got mistreated at the end. Sure he lost One for All, but that was clear from the start, that he would eventually lose his power, because that is the message at the end of the day; "Everyone can become a hero". Besides that, everything (besides Ochako) went good for him. He graduated from U.A, stays in contact with his old classmates, most likely got his own statue (considering Monoma got one) somewhere around town, he is still a hero after Bakugo made him his own Ironman suit; overall, it went pretty good for the dude.
Besides Deku, I would've loved to see more of all the other characters after the timeskip. Like, one or to pages per Class 1-A student, seeing what type of hero they became. I also would like to know what happened with Eri, does she still live in U.A? Did she really damage her quirk like Aizawa foreshadowed? How is her music career going along etc. It was just a weird place to put a timeskip and not explain questions like that.
Oh yes, and Tokoyami became a model apparently.

So yeah, 10 years, weird to see a show like this go, it was a long ride, it went through very high highs and very low lows, but it was a great and fun ride non the less.
