| This chapter was so beautifully done! Loved the panels and how they conveyed the emotions. RIP Aki. He was a great guy. I think now Power will have the same fate :'( |

| I was definitely fighting tears near the end. Absolutely heartbreaking chapter, Hayakawa was my favourite character of this series for awhile, and this is the most tragic death. For me, it's not too bad since he gets to live in ignorance is bliss, unaware of the atrocities he's committed, unaware of what happened to him, just living dying peacefully, being able to finally play catch with his brother. But what really makes this for me is the snowball fight vision he's been having, and how that relates to Denji. After Himeno died, Denji realized he didn't really care, he didn't feel anything and when questioning whether he'd feel something when Aki died, he thought not a chance. But that's not what happened. Instead Denji's crying is what lead to Aki losing, he gave up because Denji did have a human heart after all. It was also smart to only really show this from Hayakawa's perspective, as we see him transfer from the living to the dead through his visions, losing sight of Denji, and finding his little brother. Masterfully done. Other notes, I do quite love that the villagers recognize Denji as a hero and helped him out, and the reveal that Hayakawa's died in the worst way possible was actually referring to "for Denji" was a great note. Kinda makes his request of being in his right eye make all the more sense, he'd get to witness the look on Denji's face close-up & personal. And this ends the Gun Devil arc. Best arc in the series? Maybe, I think this fight with Hayakawa is certainly the strongest part of the series, from an emotionally standpoint anyway, but I'm not sure I'd give it the nod over the International Assassins arc. Ultimately though, unless they top this, this moment will be what I remember from Chainsaw Man going forward, so I suspect it might actually be my favourite for that reason alone. |

| Oh that scene where the lady stabbed herself to give blood to Denji hit in a nice kinda way. So I'm assuming Aki wasn't fully dead until now? Honestly I wanna be sad that he's gone but I kinda just don't feel sad at all. |
| This is most painful and sad chapter of chainsawman till now... I can't express how much I wanted Aki to live but bs plot armor is not a thing in this manga. The thing that he wasn't conscious before he died and just wanted to play snow fight made me even more sad. |

| This was a beautiful and heartbreaking chapter. The reason Aki lost was because Denji had a human heart now, contrasting with back when Makima had brought him along for a date. Aki can now finally REST IN PEACE. Ignorance is bliss. Can't wait for this to be adapted. |

F me. Man why did I fall for this trap. I knew before reading this that I shouldn’t get attached to any character and did my absolute best not to. This volume was written really well that I just got too attached to Aki, Power and Denji. Aki was definitely my favourite and I avoided spoilers somehow for him dying, so I was truly hoping he’d survive. Also, screw Makima and her simps. I hate her so much. Anyway, this volume has upped my rating of the manga from 7 to 8 in the most painful way possible π |

| Aside from Aki somehow getting pissed and/or becoming a part of Gun Devil not making any sense without context yet, This feels all so exaggerated and random. I barely feel any care for this tragic death of a comrade being killed by his friend for being possessed and killing bystanders. I guess as the preview page states, they are kinda "like siblings" but in 70+ chapters the story is so extremely fast paced that they went through very little together in bonding as friends aside from mostly fighting and surviving, with some bickering and banter. The action and mystery is great at times, while the story remains oddly intriguing, but the characters are awful, especially Denji which is who ruins part of the story as the protagonist. Chainsaw Man is so fucking Overrated. I like Fujimoto's other works, but even Fire Punch which is also overrated for it's flaws is at least slightly better written with decent characters. |
