| Damn. His father is awesome. He already solved the mystery. Lol poor Jinshi. His soul left his body because of Maomao. Even more hilarious the other three were listening while Gyokuyou is laughing. I was going to save the episodes so I could binge-watch it but I can't. This show is too great. |

| I love this episode, especially the ones featuring a detective solving a good murder case. Not to mention the jokes they include. Oh, the dad is quite skillful in deduction. I hope to see more about his backstory and deduction skills too. |
| The old man is a little too shrewd for an apothecary. A professional poisoner perhaps, who made off with the daughter of some high official because of the power struggle at court. Stories with extremely gifted commoners usually turn out to be descendants of nobility, to remind the peasants that they're inherently inferior. |
| That episode "The courtesan, the crime, the cover up!" It ended so fast! Then we got "I granted him the night of his dreams" "He seemed really happy." "I worked hard, so I am pleased with myself" OMG! Jinshi's face and then Lady Gyokuyou laughing outside the door, that was priceless. I laughed so hard. |

| Drinking the lower layer with a straw then handing the drink over without the straw is actually pretty genius, and it's even more impressive that Maomao and her Dad figured it out so quickly. |
| I think that courtesan didn't actually fall in love with that man, but rather she heard about his reputation and wanted him killed. And I definitely believe that the entire brothel (including the little sister girl) knew that the courtesan was planning this and wanted to keep the silence on purpose. This was indeed a strong case. |

| The homecoming became a busy time for Maomao, and Jinshi wasn't happy... More poison mysteries for Maomao were present this episode, and it was certainly an interesting situation with the poisoned drinks at the brothel. I don't know if we'll ever get the true answer to that case in the end, but in the end, it's the nature of the red-light district at work. In the last bit of the episode, Jinshi being jealous was pretty amusing, Maomao being oblivious to the whole situation with the hairpins just broke him. I do wish we got more answers about Maomao's father and about the servant girl at the brothel, I feel like there's more to them that wasn't explored this time around. Maybe they'll circle back to them eventually. Still a solid episode overall, nonetheless. |

| Another murder case!? I liked the relationship between Maomao and her father, we got to see her from a different perspective. Besides that, the investigation and looking for the perpetrator gives an extraordinary impression to the Anime. And at the end of the show, that's the part I liked the most lol. That's why Maomao is the best girl this season. |

| Lady Gyokuyou’s a viewer just like us lol. She’s having a field day watching the drama unfold at Jinshi’s expense. But unlike us, she can directly fan the flames which is hilarious XD |

| Man, Jinshi got that one-two punch from Maomao without the latter even realizing it. Though I think Maomao knew EXACTLY what she's doing so she can get even with Jinshi. She is deliberately acting like a dense protagonist for her own sake. Wonder when will the misunderstanding be cleared? Lihaku might get YEETED because of Jinshi's jealousy and influence without the former knowing why. |

| It's really surreal for Maomao to be waking up at home again after so long...though of course she's still getting dragged into things even first thing in the morning. Can't even fully wake up before she has to save people dying from poison. Maomao seems to have learned a lot of her deductive ability from her dad, who keeps her on her toes and helps her learn while he works, and Maomao makes sure his dad actually gets paid for his service. They make an effective father-daughter team. |

| Ha ha, I think Maomao accidentally broke Jinshi and he stopped working :D. That's how you create a huge misunderstanding (but to be fair, Maomao really didn't say it in a way he could know what actually was going on). Also how mad he got at her once she returned. To him it must have felt like betrayal even though it's not. She really gets to him :P So right at the start of the episode Maomao saves two lives but this case seems to be more complicated. I really would like to know the full story or rather who was involved in this plan. After the little girl's almost attack I can imagine she had a part in it too. Strange and what an even more unusual method to make him drink the poison. I'm sure they have many horrible clients but I don't know... Detective Maomao did a great job :) but same as her I don't want to make assumptions. I'm really wondering what's in the annex of the brothel. I'm curious.... Looking forward to the next episode. It looks really promising <3 |

Maomao is portrayed as a bit too dense considering she was half-raised by the old lady and the courtesans, but seeing Jinshi's soul leaving him at her blatantly innuendo-laden explanation is funny enough to overlook the inconsistency.

| Maomao is still back at her brothel home, and yet, another girl coming for help for any apothecary available, the case of a courtesan and her customer being poisoned, she managed to save both of their lives on the straight. Maomao having her father around will help resolve the case faster and help build up her skills alongside it. But the profile of the victims makes Maomao wonder what is truly going on, and it soon becomes obvious that the girl that dragged Maomao earlier, wanted to murder the man because he was a problem customer who had connections and money, who could ruin the brothel because of the courtesan's love for him. This, from a small issue, has turned into a dilemma of a double suicide that has no many anomalies, it's hard to link for any typical doctor, but for Maomao, surmising that it's murder, that's only half of the issue understood. The thing is, the wheat stalk proved the courtesan's alibi of her actions regarding the problem customer, and the servant girl who is her sister, having done all she did, even if it was based on conjectures, it just smells sus at every nook and cranny. The pleasure district has enough troubles on its own, and to Maomao, this is the typical life. And as things glossed over, Maomao's 3-day homecoming ends as Lihaku appears satisfied, and Jinshi having a stern face once he saw her. Going to him to explain her agenda, Jinshi only grows more frustrated that Maomao didn't rely on him to keep him out of trouble as repayment. And Maomao was so sure she did a good job, that left Jinshi stunned that she gave Lihaku a good night, the phrasing of words that left him speechless. Smug Maomao at Jinshi's stunned misunderstanding...what a glow. |
