i was really enjoying the episode but then they had to throw in some cheap fanservice in the form of some ditzy girl with an unbearably high-pitched voice lmaoo

Wow, this was probably the most boring first ep1 of the season. Fanservice moments were super cringy and ruined overall experience even greater. Visual-vise it was great, but plot-wise I couldn't find anything that would hook me. I suppose (judging by fanservice and ED) this is your typical "watch it for the waifus" anime.
The only worthy part (for me) was towards the end when Shino talked with MC about everyone's fears.

Already surpassing my expectations...strong contender for anime of the season if it does well. The OP and ED were both pretty catchy too

Waking up and finding yourself 10 years back in time, seems cliche. Don't you think so?
1st episode was 1 hour special and ngl I loved it! The entire episode never get me bored. It is so relaxing and heartwarming like a sweetdoze of medicine that will make you sleep..
I want it to be more relaxing.

That was more decent than I thought it was going to be. It gives me that Re:Life vibe but unfortunately it is missing a crucial element and that is the main character.

Now it might be too early to tell but the MC is severely lacking in personality and presence for me to actually care for him. It is as if they decided to make one of those faceless side characters into the main focus and he just lacks that oomph for me to latch on to. Hopefully they give him more development and flesh him out into something interesting but having watched my fair share of anime I feel that it is unlikely that we will get a major character shift.

The best part of the first episode for me was that we didn't go directly into the past but stayed in the present, letting us become more endeared to the mc, seeing him in action as someone who actually tries to get back on his feet and work hard.

The worst part is the contrived nature of the script, playing out in the major with having the MC going to the same school, same dorm as all the Platinum generation entierly by chance, and in the minor with the weirdly sexualized scene with the girl that looks like she is about 12.

My predictions is that this will be mildely entertainint but if it doesn't get better I will probably drop it just for a lack of impact.

For those who watched ReLIFE, how does this compare thematically? Obviously the premises are somewhat similar in broad terms--travel back 10 years and do things differently this time around--but the scenario and mechanics sound totally different. Now what really resonated with me with ReLIFE were the life lessons the MC (and audience) learned along the way. The most important ones being: you can't change the past, you can't run away forever, be the change you wish to see in the world, and so on. I'm wondering what lessons or themes this anime delves into?

At first I wasn't planning on watching this. I had a certain image of it in my head that I wasn't as interested in as some other titles. I actually decided to watch this episode on a whim because I saw the hour episodes length. I had a feeling each character he admired in his former life would show as his colleagues at art school, but I still wanted to know what would happen and how things would/will develop. I was entertained for the full episode. Glad I decided to not sleep on this one. Looking forward to watching more.

MC lowkey reminds me of White Album 2's Haruki.

Slice of Life with Romance means that this series is not Slice of Life.

My nonconformist self says this series is not good, because it's animated by feel, the protagonist could not impress me at all, the blue-haired girl had an annoying voice, etc.

I will wait until episode 3.

I thought all the animes this season gonna be boring but this is not at all.

Although in terms of romance it's completely obvious who's gonna end up with whom.

I really like the first episode.
It gave me Sakurasou vibes, especially with the characters living in the same house.
Hashiba and Aki's personalities somehow had a slight resemblance with Sorata (the feeling of being surrounded by talented people) and Shiina (with the drawing talent).
feel. is a pretty good studio so I have high hopes for this anime.

That was good, 50 episodes that went faster than a lot of 20 minutes series, but please, tell me that Kyouya and Aki will be together or the main ship, she's so freaking cute and hot and they already such a chemistry.

I just watched 50 mins of a moronic character only complaining about how he messed up his life, Im fine with the other characters except Shinoaki whose voice makes me want to vomit but I feel that the real downside of the anime will be the dense mc.

Calling the mc a whining moronic just makes you sound like a spoiled kid who has yet to start living life kkkk

Anyways, that was a damn fine first episode, and considering it was 50 mins long,I didn't even notice the time passing!
Great OP/ED tunes, really good animation, esp that scene just before he's carrying Shino on his back with the Sakura blossoms, that was superb!

Looking forward to the rest of this.

Bokutachi no Remake first episode impression:

Here's i though this is gonna be another one of those remake or over-reuse concept of a time travel anime that just added a few new fanservices over the top of it. But this turned out unbelievable, this "remake" things had more originality in it's story than in it's title!

Started out with a mehh.. naration. So uhm..yeah i assumed that this is gonna be one of those relife or reisekai-ied type of story, who's fight for some universal things like "MC saving the world and facing some kind a time paradox" type of things who's honestly, i get really tired of. But boy how wrong i am! Instead of going full sci-fi mind bending path, they actually focusing more on the world building, slice-of-life and the interaction of it's characters, that turned out to be pretty damn dreamy and relaxing vibes

The 50minute's runtime really well used and feels deserved. The slowburn decision they took turned out effectively describing how the slice-of-life narration they gonna took from here to the rest

Thank God, this shows remind me of my childhood dream about time-travel fantasies, that hasn't been ruined by scientific explanation or those scary paradox things. Now i feel like i can go back and dreaming again about going to the future and past like a little child, without worrying about screwed the timeline or taken into trial by some interdimensional forces like Time Variant Authority or some sh*t

Also not forget to mention, that this is feels like something that P.A Works would produced. And the fact that we will also got some of P.A Works new anime this season, makes me more than happy!

I’m completely on board. One of the few anime with a college setting, looks like there will be some romance, characters seem good, and plot is interesting. It’s cool that it’s an art college too, it’s kind of like Sakurasou except in college with a hint of Erased. I’m all for it!

i like the whole redo shtick, but this first episode was kind of lacking in some parts. there were so many scenes where it felt like another conversation could have easily have been put in, like when theyre sitting at the table talking after class. but no, just narration. felt kind of empty sometimes.

mc seems realllllly plain right now, hopefully that's gonna change.

also the fan service was really cringe and shinoaki's character isnt off to a great start. why did she just randomly fall asleep at a big party? its the *first* episode, why is there a sequence with a late night sakura blossom between mc and her? bit soon if you ask me.

Can't even believe Shinoaki's voice actress is the same that voiced Kaguya-sama, she is just so annoying.

Honestly, I was liking it until that needless fanservice when they woke up and that yogurt stuff. That scene was so stupid it ruined the experience for me.

As a fan of Sawashiro Miyuki, hearing her in such cheerful voice (even though she turned a bit more serious later in her speech) made me smile and kinda "healed" my bored face thanks to the previous scenes.

Overall a good episode, but let's hope we are not getting any more stupid fanservice that feel out of place and hope to get used to one of our main girl's voice.

Not a bad first episode. Pleasantly surprised that it was 50 minutes long. Hopefully that helps the pacing.

The entire theme of "going back in time and doing things differently" is what hooked me. This entire thing really hits home for me. I'm the same age as Kyouya, and I've felt myself feel the same way. Where would I be if I had done things differently? How much time have I wasted? But I think these are questions everyone asks themselves, which is why the whole redo theme is so poignant, because we can all relate. At times I love the idea of going back 10 years with the knowledge I have now. Just thinking about the things I could change, and the things I could accomplish.

Visually, this was really appealing. A really nice and bright color palette, an attractive art style, and above average animation.

I am a little disappointed with a few things though, Most characters feel bland and generic, especially the MC. Considering the premise of the story, you'd think they'd try and hit home how much regret he has about how things went. I think that would have gone a long way, it would show how important this second chance is. It would sort of raise the stakes in a sense.

I have to wonder if the reason why he traveled back in time will come into play later on in the show? Because there has to be some reason.

Overall, the themes really connect with me personally and it's a visually attractive show despite some generic characters and tropey moments. I'm looking forward to more. I really hope this turns out to be good.

This has potential to be a great show. I love the concept of going back in time and redoing past decisions. It reminds me of ReLife, but this takes it a step further by actually going back in time. I look forward to watching the rest. It will be interesting to see where the story goes.

Real interesting start. I like the premise and it hits home for many of us that are a tad older than the average MAL'er. What would we do if we could back 10 years?

The characters are nothing special so far but that can change. Not too crazy about the short blue haired girl though. I hate those childlike characters in stories for adults. But of course it turned out that she was this amazing artist

Overwhelmingly great episode, I absolutely loved it. The beginning of the first episode illustrated who our main character is perfectly, and instead of having the cliche of him wishing to go back in time, and going back in time (which wouldn’t have been bad even if they did it) they showed that hard work and determination helped him out later on, and that he could get back onto his feet.

It was extreme unexpected to me because in most anime the whole back in time thing works conveniently when the protagonist needs it right off the bat, so it really caught me off guard and it was a pleasant surprise. Not to mention just how likeable and unique the main character is, in contrast to most other anime. He’s a dude who works hard and wants to try to get a better place in life, helpful, and not extremely out there at the same time, to a point where I personally find it to be more of a realistic personality in a way, and it made me like the character as we delve into it in this first episode.

Not to mention just how much I like the artstyle, it’s a really pleasant artstyle and appealing to the eye I feel. The animation did it wonders as well, and it really makes itself standout from other anime from this first episode. I hope that this anime keeps this pace up for the rest of it, because the first episode is especially promising to me.

Decent start though I felt the episode really dragged by the end. Also a little bit stupid he didn't realize these are the platinum generation considering their fake names are very close to their real ones. If a viewer who has just started heard their names few minutes ago realize and the protagonist who has been watching their names for so long took a long time to realize it, it really feels dumb.

But overall the premise is good and the first half of the episode was fun. I will keep watching.
