Another one of those reborn after death fantasy shows. The premise sounded kinda dark but the anime itself is actually lighthearted. OP song had some colorful tunes and scenes.

Mia behaves like how I imagine a kid would behave like. The anime did have some more serious moments mostly focused on Mia's character. Almost feels like the anime is doing a character study for Mia. I do like her chemistry with Anne so she's not alone in that world.

Ngl, this reads like the anime adaptation of Marie Antoinette's tale.

After facing the hate-filled stares of her people, Mia, the self-centered princess of Tearmoon Empire, witnesses the sunset before the guillotine descends. But then, she awakens as a twelve-year-old with a chance at a new life. Determined to right the Empire's wrongs, Mia tackles corruption, border issues, and economic troubles. Knowing hard work isn't her forte, she enlists the help of loyal maid Anne and brilliant minister Ludwig. Together, they labor tirelessly, reshaping the continent's destiny. Why the sudden change? It's not a change of heart—it's a fear of the guillotine. Pain hurts more than anything to Mia.

I have read a bit of the light novel, so I feel people are going to misunderstand Mia. Mia isn't inherently malicious like presented in her previous life. Admittedly, she's an absent-minded, self-centered, and pampered princess, but she never intentionally sought to harm anyone. Her primary fault lies in her inaction—things went awry without her making an effort to intervene until it was too late. Besides, without foreknowledge of the future, there wasn't much she could have done anyway. The plot mirrors a regression manhwa, but it's presented in the form of a light novel, now adapted into an anime. It's quite refreshing to witness a cute expression after regression instead of a serious one while dreading future encounters.

A rare chance for a shot of redemption. Don't let it slip away, Mia.

I've been wanting to read author Nozomu Mochitsuki's Tearmoon Empire for a while now, so I'm glad that Silver Link's anime adaptation is finally here.

Sumire Uesaka's OP is lively and fun, the exuberant vibes as a kid growing up. KanoeRana's ED, really is soothing.

This is the story of Princess Mia Luna Tearmoon, unlawfully captured and maligned as her empire turns into a violent state of disarray and her eventual execution on the guillotine for everyone to see, unremorseful for her death. But in a stroke of luck, time turned back for Mia, going back 8 years before the execution as a 12-year-old kid, with her empire still thriving and her future diary intact that documents the fall of her own empire.

Thinking back on the people who served Mia, the Yellow Moon tomato stew that she had, it was the same meal before her execution, and she embraced both stew and bread to thank the chef that she hired back in her previous life, to one that startled both him and her servants, barring from being the self-centered princess that she is. But a voice that she clearly knows, she does not know who it came from, and proceeded to have teatime with a big cake...that one maid slipped, Mia goes into her angry mode as usual, but knowing the maid that saw her in final days, Anne was the persistent one who saw her in the 3 years leading up to her execution, having been one who's used to her exploits that the old Mia can't thank her enough for her loyalty. And now, that same maid, as a klutz that she's been, Mia can finally repay Anne for her loyalty to be her personal maid.

Sending Anne to buy sweets, Mia begins renouncing what happened of her own Tearmoon Empire, this is a 2nd chance shot of redemption to avoid the guillotine like the plague.

Think of HameFura, but a fantasy version of that, aside from Silver Link's production on both shows. I trust in this show to deliver.

The visuals are pretty and the voice acting is on point. All it needs is the snarky narration and it would be perfect.

@Magiarca yeah, that's my biggest complaint with the episode is the lack of that snarky narrator

This was a great first episode! I read the manga adaptation, and they did a great job with the music and voice acting and animation.

Anyway, that first meal out of prison is always delicious lmaooooo. I had a domino's pizza and a coke after serving a 19-hour jail sentence, and you'd swear it was the greatest tasting pizza of all time lmao. I nearly teared up, lol.

I love Mia, she's so spoiled, lmaooooo. She's been dragged to hell.

Viva la Revolucion. they don't even hide that this is based of france revolution lol. great episode, Mia feel surprisingly fresh for "villainess" protagonist. also I find it funny that both silver link adaptation this season have time travel to correct their mistakes as their premise

The part with the maid was actually quite emotional. I'm glad she'll be treated right by her this time and will be rewarded for her loyalty. That said, decent start, liked it and seems like it'll be a fun watch.

So the story of the headless princess.
Or more like the princess that has a lot to learn about ruling a country.
So for i thought it could be better but seeing the synopsis this has a lot of potential so i would like to see where this is going.

Another one of my most anticipated shows of the year is here. Tearmoon empire is a LN that always gets recommended for some good world and kingdom building and I’m excited to see it animated

Similar set up to lastame last season in that both MCs want to change the situations that led to them being hated by their subjects, but unlike Pride, Mia Luna just doesn’t want to die. She hasn’t really changed yet 😂 also a lot more light hearted than lastame.

The potential for Mia’s growth is there though for sure. The way she treated Anne once she remembered how kind Anne had been to her in the past life for example.

Really bittersweet flashback there. The fact Anne kept coming to see her for years after her incarceration was really beautiful. She definitely deserves to be handmaid and to get to call the princess ‘Mia’. Can’t imagine there’s a more loyal person in that palace.

Of course the other maids hating on Anne after that seemingly random promotion lol

Mia’s got a lot of work to do. Learning the ins and outs of politics and economics won’t be easy to do, but I believe in her.

Nice first episode, silverlink had an amazing run from 2019-‘21 so here’s to hoping they recapture that form

EDIT: ok the finance minister dude might give Anne a run for her money lol

Another selfish princess who got reborn but in the same world. So it's not an Isekai, huh. I think the diary might have something to do with her time travel. Mia is going to get there. She'll change for sure. Now she's starting by rewarding her loyal maid. I like how her fear of the same death is a good motivation for her to change.

At risk of having too many "villainess" anime within a short period of time, Tearmoon is different from other because it's really based on historical event, well, at least for the first four minutes anyway.

Ummm... Why such the low score? Well, I know the concept is pretty much overused at this point... but... well, I guess that answers my question, huh.

GREAT ADAPTATION! This is pretty much a VERY-VERY typical and overused kind of title. Typically, we will get a half-assed adaptation that most cash-grabbing isekai or reincarnation titile receives, but it received a great one instead. Tearmoon Teikoku DOES NOT deserve such a great adaptation, AT ALL. Pryde in last season deserves a similarly great adaptations, but instead receiving an average one (not bad, but also not good). A little bit ffrustrating and unfair, but this is what we got. Never in why wildest dream would I even thought that this title would receives such a beautiful 1st EP like this.

On another note though, Mia is shown flicking her hair in the OP, with her horse in the background. I laughed. I shouldn't, it's not even supposed to be that funny (out of context), but knowing what would happen in relation to Mia's hair and her horse, I just can't help but laugh. I'm sorry for my terrible sense of humor, but that joke from the manga (I don't read the LN) never felt old for me.

But yeah, Tearmoon Teikoku. Should the quality keeps up, we will have a hell of a ride here. Especially if you like either Youjo Senki or Overlord (this is not an isekai, but the 3 are similar to one another in a very particular way. You'll see what I'm talking about when we get there)

I am impressed with the anime that they decided to use the designs from the spin-off for the background maids instead of just creating brand new designs. Kind of makes things more connected between everything to me.

@phantomfandom What are you talking about? Meat and cake is entirely different to one another. Although Mr. Guillotine is there on both stories. Wwwwww

But, yeah, I smh never made the connection from reading the manga. But now I see them on screen, I immediately though: "Welp! This seems familiar...." Poor Marie though, she has pretty much became a meme in this modern age due to her realtionship with cakes.

This feels like a pretty dumb, but fun premise, and I'm definitely here for it. A second chance story for Mia, though it doesn't seem like she was an utterly despicable person in her previous life, so I wonder why so many people hated her and she got executed. I wonder if we'll get that answer at some point. Her chemistry with Anne in her previous life was the highlight of the episode for sure. Production wise it's fine, not expecting too much. The tonal shifts between the dark aspects and comedic aspects did feel a bit jarring but I'll get used to that I'm sure.

Saved from literal death via time travel huh neat idea. That diary sure ended up being the best proof that her dream was not a dream. Pretty catchy opening and loved the fact that it shows what the cast would become if she had followed her own path. I guess her future self being fed food that she hated ended up making her realize the good things that were around her. It was funny seeing her first move was to task Anne as her personal maid. Gotta take a lot of brainwork to figure out what she needs to learn to keep her head this time thats for sure. But learning to be kinder to your servants is a good first move.

Omg there’s actually so many good shows airing/returning for the fall season there all so good.

In tearmoon empires case this was another show I had no expectations off but was once again blown away.

The first episode kind of reminded me of the story of evil trilogy songs. There basically 3 songs which sing the story of a evil princess who ruled over a kingdom with her twin brother who was her servant.

In the end a revolution happens and the brother pretends to be the princess and in her place he gets the death penalty by the guillotine all whilst she watches in the back. Afterwards she goes to live her days out in isolation by herself. Very sad songs/story. But I found them somewhat similar to this. The main difference being the mc of tearmoon empire gets a second chance.

The show has a very dark tone but at the same time is very lighthearted. Definitely something I’m gonna enjoy watching.

Wow, this might be the surprise hit of the season for me, I loved that first episode, it's strangely wholesome, yet dark and foreboding. I actually got a little misty eyed during that flashback seen with Anne. I love a good redemption story,

If they have no bread then let them eat meat is the equivalent to if you're homeless just buy a house.

A princess got the chance to save herself and to restore her empire sounds pretty interesting.

The first somewhat disappointing premiere I've seen this season. Mostly because it feels like it missed the premise.

What I expected was a reincarnation comedy of a spoiled and arrogant princess who met her sudden doom and now tries to avoid it. After all, they advertised she wouldn't have a change of heart. But she already has at the point of her reincarnation. Just seeing how confused everyone around her is by her nice behaviour proves this. Also, this is not from her now being mentally grown up, as she acts really childish.

Messed up synopsis aside, the episode was ok. The story between Anne and Mia was pretty emotional, but I wish it had some more depth than Stockholme Syndrome - like Mia having done something nice to Anne in the past which caused her to not abandon the "mean" princess.

Most of the comedy was a miss, but maybe it gets better once Mia starts messing up the world around her. At least "Let them eat meat!" was funny, so there is potential.

I didn't expect to see "Marie Antoinette: The Anime" 😂

I didn't know anything about this series before watching, so I was glad that it's a "redo" one, and not that she got saved from the guillotine or something.

I guess the series will be about her changing to live a life of privilege that's 100x better than peasants rather than 1000x, so looking forward to the shift 😎

Also like the mischievous vibe at the end as she was spying on the "four-eyed" tax man.

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!
The plot seems cool, we have a kinda dark yet cute story of redemption with a DESU WA protagonist, Luna and Anne are cute, and the animation is good too!

Also, I must say I think this pic during the opening goes hard:

I've had this manga on my PTR list for like a year now without knowing anything about it, I just added it because I think the word/name "Tearmoon" sounds cool, I should've read it lol

It was fun to see her losing her head, all because she was such a horrible person.
And now she has been given a 2th chance to redeem herself.
Yeah....., no i don't think so.
This is going to be very very predictable, so i'll pass this one.
The art is nice, and if you like this kind of story, well...... go for it.
I think there are much better anime stories out there this anime season.

I've only read the manga (I heard it's missing plenty of stuff from LN), but one thing I like about this story is that it's not actually a "generic" fantasy setting. For the most part it is a pretty grounded historical setting, there is no magic and there's no mystical beasts or monsters; most of the problems and issues she tackles are based on relationships, politics... kind of, and sometimes logistics or infrastructure.

Mia is not a bad person, she is relatively and surprisingly normal (perhaps a bit dumb) in all the right ways; she was just raised badly in the wrong place at the wrong time in her previous life. It's satisfying seeing her overcoming ordeals despite her clear incompetence and extra pinch of overconfidence. Her not instantly turning into a saint in her second life is also quite compelling; she believes that she didn't do much wrong in her previous life so her goal isn't to change herself, but to focus on avoiding future problems that leads to the revolution from happening, to survive.

@Bisalissy oh she's still very much a brat, it's just she can somewhat appreciate the stuff that she once lost this time (plus I bet any spoiled princess would change at least a little after being jailed for 3 years like that). Being seen as less of a brat by everyone this time does plays into her survival plan on avoiding the future doom most of the time, these genuine appreciation are few and far between.
